Urban Decay Show Pony Palette: What’s Your Favorite Shadow?

November 14th, 2009 by Karen 20 Comments

urban decay show pony palette open

Good morning, ladies. 🙂 How was your night? The only thing I did was go to the movies to see The Box, the new sci-fi thriller starring Cameron Diaz and cutie pie James Marsden, but the highlight was probably the popcorn.

I went expecting a lot since the movie’s based on a short story by one of my favorite horror writers, Richard Matheson (also wrote I am Legend, Stir of Echoes and Hell House), but I thought it was a little slow, confusing and disjointed at parts.

LOVED the ’70s-era styling, though, and left the theater wanting to feather my hair and find bellbottoms and a long silk scarf, fo’ reals!

What are you up to today? I’ve got some household chores (boo), but after those I plan to reward myself with some me time and Urban Decay’s Show Pony Palette ($30).

How do you feel about the packaging? The design’s by Kime Buzzelli, an artist, fashion designer and the owner of the Echo Park clothing boutique.

It’s limited edition but has been out for a few months already. I wish I’d gotten wind of it sooner because I’m kinda ga-ga over the shadows.

I can’t decide on a fave…

I love Smog so much. It is my daily go-to shadow. I use it with UD’s Polyester Bride and Smog liner. This palette looks like fun! I’ll send you a pic of my Smog-PB daily look to see if you like the color. *hugs*

When this palette first came out, it didn’t move me, but dang did you take nice pictures of it! I already made my F&F order (picked up the new Super Stash and a couple other liners), but now I’m dreaming about snatching up this one too…

I like snatch because I like purple eyeshadows and I get enough of them. I wanted to go to the HM Jimmy Choo launch today, but I have an important appointment set up. Besides, it is not in my budget :(.

Those really are great shades… I voted for Painkiller, but really kind of a toss-up.

Too bad about the movie last night, but yay for new inspiration in the wardrobe department! Hope you get everything you’d planned on doing this weekend DONE… with time left over for fun. 🙂

Flash is stunning! But I think it depends on your mood, and the look you want to go for. The colour that said HELLO was Flash, but the others are equally beautiful.
I’m not a fan of the art on the cover, I think it looks a bit…donnow. Not floating my boat. But that wouldn’t stop me from buying this baby – pity there’s no shipping to here.

it was a tossup between Flash and Painkiller, but Flash won out in the end.

I spent this Saturday morning in the hospital. My grandmother fell yesterday evening, and she’s pretty banged up–nothing broken, but she has bleeding on the left side of her brain, so they’re watching her pretty closely. As a distraction, I did go over to the mall this afternoon and used my Sephora VIB 20% discount AND dropped TRIPLE digits at MAC…..Karen, you are a BAD influence, my dear….LOL!!

Tommorrow I have to work from 9a-3p and then the hubster and I have an actual “date” scheduled…..dinner and shopping!

karen I forgot all about the urban decay friends and family! So many stores are having the same sale, I got overwhelmed. I need to buy something, I just don’t know what. LOL
I love the 24/7 liner in zero. I bought it a few days ago and it’s what I wish feline would’ve been. It really doesn’t smear at all.
By the way, I bought a Chanel aqualumiere in hirondelle yesterday and I love it! I want to get the silver shade and one of the lipsticks. I can’t remember which lipstick, but it was the most pigmented and looked like a shimmery pinky red. I also want that shadow palette!!!

      Hi Shontay,

Oh, nice! Isn’t it so pretty? I know it’s for holiday but I can’t wait to wear it in the summer. 🙂

      Hi Mill,

Yah, it’s got that Stars and Rockets vibe! Everything about this palette is beautiful… even the artwork on the back kicks booty!

It is gorgeous, Karen. I was thinking about getting the shadow quad, but I’m passing b/c it seems to lack pigment.
I saw the box last week and I loved it! It was so weird and sometimes random. It had me on the edge of my seat.

The my little pony cracks me up lol! I think I’ll definatly be picking one of these up though, most of the colors are really wearble. While flash isn’t something I’d wear on a regular basis, it’s SO PRETTY! 🙂

I’m turning into a total Urban Decay convert. I always lumped it in with the cutsey, Hard Candy crowd of makeup, but ever since I started using the shadow primer, and then the 24/7 liners, and then with seeing these shadow shades… well, I’m into it.

I even tested out the regular makeup primer the other day, and I liked it a lot better than That Gal from Benefit. Very interesting!

Wow, so obviously since i’m completely 100% Irish, Scottish and Welsh… I’m one pale chick… But I feel like a freaking ghost after seeing the eyeshadow primer potion against your skin tone! It looks white on you where when I put it on my lids (before i blend it) it looks like bronzer! Dang I’m white.
