The Stila Kitten Holiday Set: Take Two of These and Call Me in the Morning

November 19th, 2009 by Karen 47 Comments

stila kitten collection and tabs
Stila spokesmodel Tabs the Cat…

Rise and shine, morning glories. 🙂 How’d you sleep? Tabs tells me it’s going to be a beautiful day today. He’s been taking good care of me, and my headache’s all but gone. I guess the bed rest and Stila Kitten holiday set swatches ($18 limited edition, one of 10 new Stila sets at Sephora) he prescribed finally did the trick.

This particular two-piece set comes with one full-size eyeshadow pan and a Lip Glaze, both in Kitten, the shimmery, peachy champagne shade much beloved by Stila fans and tubby makeup-loving cats. Stamp of makeup approval

Hi Karen! The colors are lovely, a lil bit shimmery which I like and in so natural colors. Well I guess is another world out there for me to discover, beside pink 🙂

Me too. I love how girly and soft it is. Have you seen the new Stila website? The vibe feels completely different.

I love the color, and definitely a fan of Kitten eyeshadow and smudgepot… but I’m curious if the lip glaze looks good on pale girls with darker lips like me? Haven’t tried it out yet so I’m curious.

      Hi Christina,

The pigmentation of this color is sheer… I’m guessing it’ll work better for you if you used it to layer on top of lipsticks.

Hope your day is off to a good start. Is it Friday yet?!?

    Hi Karen!

Glad you are starting to feel back to normal 🙂

I have the lip gloss and it’s too sheer for my tastes. The shadow looks lovely though.

I love how Tabs just fills up the sink perfectly. Sammy would runneth over 🙂

I think this is great for Stila fans who have a palette. Otherwise, I doubt people will carry around just a pan of shadow with them. Colors are great though!! And the pic with Tabs is toooo adorable!

Seriously? Tabs is so ridiculously cute. Can you clone him? How cute would an itty bitty tabs be? If I put that on my cat Willy, my eyeball would be hanging off his claw. That’s mama’s boy!!
I have both the shadow and gloss; although i bought them separately. I love them both, and I like the powder shadow more than the smudge pot, which seemed to crease and then just disappear. At least on my oil-slicked lids, anyway.

      Hi Sarah,

Hmm, maybe you can try layering your Smudge Pot on top of a base like Too Faced Shadow Insurance. That might help to give it more “stick.”

    Hi, Karen,

I’m glad you’re feeling better! And thanks for the suggestion about the lip glaze… I feel like if I buy the set, I might give that to my sister and keep the shadow for selfish me. 😉

My day is off to a fantastic start. When I got to one of the college campuses where I teach, I discovered a zombie war… and one of my students was participating. Cracks me up!

Hope your day is going well, too. Friday is *almost* here…

Hey Karen, glad you’re starting to feel better. I think this is a pretty good stocking stuffer, but it’s not among the top Stila products. I’ve been using their bronzer for a while… I love it! Also, has anyone seen the commercials for Stila? So weird! I feel like they don’t fit with their image at all, and they’re kinda cheesy.

I quite like the eyeshadow shade of kitten. I hit pan on colors like that like nobody’s business. But those Stila Lip Glazes KILL me. I dislike twist clicky pens but I am an overzealous twister. Slowly oozing lipgloss = hot mess. I must say it’s a beautiful shade on your Karen.

Btw, Did Tabs really plop himself into the sink or did you lead him there for a photo op? 😛
