To the Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro Notorious liquid lipsticks, thanks for reminding me that I still need to get myself a Notorious RBG t-shirt.
These cuties are new for spring 2017 and — gasp! — they’re $38 each, which is pretty expensive, but I sure do think they’re lovely.
The Notorious Collection is an LE line of six Armani Lip Maestro liquid lipsticks inspired by Hollywood glamour. (Side note: For some reason, Armani refers to their Lip Maestros as glosses, which is a little confusing to me because they have a glossy finish, and I don’t think they feel like a gloss either.)
I’d characterize them as lightweight semi-matte liquid lipsticks with a whipped, wickedly moisturizing formula (totally unlike most liquid lipsticks, which are incredibly drying).
When I swipe one on my lips, I get an opaque lip look with a semi-matte finish that isn’t completely flat. I see light bouncing off my lips, which kinda makes them look plumper and muy delicioso. 🙂
They remain like that for 3-4 hours, assuming I’m only sipping on a beverage or carefully eating Fuji apple slices. If, on the other hand, I eat a full meal, the semi-matte aspect wears away, leaving behind a lovely lip stain throughout the entire lip area (as opposed to just around the edges).
I recommend all of them except for the lightest shade, 518 Paparazzi Pink, which seems to settle into my vertical lip lines, and the contrast between the color of my lips and the pigment in those lines looks super obvs…
Actually, now that I think about it…all of the shades settle into my vertical lip lines to a degree, but the only one that goes too far is 518 Paparazzi Pink (to me).
These are beautiful — especially the bold and bright colors, but unless your lips are baby smooth and soft, I’d think twice about the lightest pink.
Workin’ it out
With El Hub starting his new job this week, I’ve reshuffled my exercise schedule around, so now I’m taking my HIIT classes at night instead of in the morning.
I went for the first time last night, and oh, boy! — it’s hard to get yo’ sweat on after work. Well…for me.
I mean, I used to do it all the time when I was in my 20s, but dang if it’s not a lot harder now, LOL! Part of me is like, why bother if I can’t go all out? But another part of me is like, slow is still better than nothing.
Sigh… Do you prefer to exercise in the morning, the afternoon or at night?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Yes, these lippies by Armani confuse me.. so I am!
Lip glosses or lip colour/stain?! By the way, Maharajah is the one winking at me; I find it lovely!!!
Exercising… mhh it depends on the season, I change hours but never in the early morning
xoxo

These are so pretty! And yes, so many liquid lippies are horribly drying.
I’m definitely not a morning exerciser. I’m a heavy sweater and I shower at night, so it’s just not practical. Afternoon or evening is where it’s at. I’m usually doing aerial, dance, or yoga classes.

I’m definitely not a morning exerciser. I’m a heavy sweater, and I get really red, and it doesn’t die down quickly, so I look a hot mess the rest of the day. Afternoon or evening is where it’s at. I’m usually doing aerial, dance, or yoga classes.
I’m also not much of a morning person

Hi Karen! Have you tested the nyx #nofilter powder? I saw reviews saying that it’s a dupe for mac mineralize skinfinish natural. I’m in a doubt between the two and here in my country I only have acess to mac. I would love to know your thoughts.

I like Notorious and Maharaja.

I’ve trained myself to become a morning person once I had my daughter. I work out first thing in the morning. Well, after coffee and perusing my favorite blogs, like yours. There are tons of free workouts on YouTube (HIIT or otherwise) and streaming sites. I love that time for myself.

These lippies are so gorgeous! They look so pretty on you, all of them! But my favourites are Paparazzi Pink and A-List… <3

I prefer working out in the morning, but with the kids and work I have to do it at night as well, even though getting sweaty is the leqst thing on my mind then.
Maharajah looks lovely.

I really like the finish on these. Natch all are too bold for me, though. 🙂
Definitely a night time worker-outer. Many years of after-school athletics, paired with NOT being a morning person, make evenings perfect for me. I’m also one of those weirdos who is not energized by working out; I’m relaxed and ready for a nap.
PS Slow is definitely better than nothing. Keep on keeping on! But, honestly, you’ll probably always prefer mornings.

I like the color Maharajah, but Armani is confusing me! Sephora’s website doesn’t have it in this formula, but does have a 500 Maharajah “hot fuchsia” in the Lip Magnet formula, which has an ultra-matte finish (which I don’t personally care for), and a 506 Maharajah “pink” in the Ecstasy Lacquer formula, which is a gloss. I think I’ll have to try to test some of these out next time I go to Sephora (on my arm, not my lips — no way to properly sanitize this kind of tester, unfortunately).

Karen, I love it that you do HIIT! The only exercise I can really do is walking and my physical therapy exercises (I’m a complete and total klutz). I like to split my walking into morning and afternoon walks, and do my stretching and balance board in the evening. I really should add something for my arms, though, with bands or little weights. I really can’t always do as much as I should, either, so I try to be content with doing what I can. If I push myself too hard, I just knock myself farther back instead of building endurance. Such is life with chronic fatigue syndrome, among other problems!

517 is awesome!

I bought them all except the light pink one….they are gorgeous. 515 and 516 are very very similar though . I am thinking do i need both or should i just keep one. Still thinking!!
