Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine Lipstick Swatches and Pics

Lovely ladies, I’d like to introduce you to my latest lipstick obsession: Shu Uemura’s Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine lipstick!

Falling in love with these $23 lippies was easy. They make my lips shine brighter than a glazed doughnut (mmm… doughnut) yet still feel feather-light on my lips. They pack tons of color, and there are a bunch of shades to choose from — 17 in all!

Here are eight of my favorites…

Beige shades

BG 941S

The shine these deliver and the amazing colors available aren’t the only reasons I’m obsessed with Crystal Shine. I just found out that Madonna wore PK 301S on the cover of her new album, Hard Candy. Madge and I are now lipstick twins (or so I’d like to think)!

To say that I’m a Madonna fan would be an understatement of epic proportions. I can’t believe PK 301S graced the lips that belted out all those hits from my youth.

You can actually view and purchase the entire line of Shu Uemura makeup used on her Madge-esty’s cover on the Shu Uemura website! SO rad!

I’ve got computer backups galore to do at work today (fun). Whatcha been up to? And more importantly, what’s going on tonight?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Wow – those colors are gorgeous! Maybe I’m alone on this one, but I really don’t like the packaging. It just looks kinda cheap.

I wish Shu has names for their stuff instead of secret-coding them. And so are MAC brushes. My memory can’t register numbers that well 🙁 The colors look very tempting but no Shu for me!

Girl, you made my broke down and went to Target to get that flat top brush. It is divine y’all! All of you should own it, for real! I used it to buff mineral and it does a much better job than the kabuki although it takes more time. Also got myself 3 Milani eyeshadows => feel much better already. If all sickness can be cured by makeup 🙂

Oh, I bought a square vase that’s supposed to be used for flowers to house all my brushes. You have different brands in different jars that means you have a whole lotta brushes, right? I want to see them all! My brushes are not that brand-name or anything but they sure last for a very long time.

I love the colors and likely will buy one, although like TUPRNUT I do feel the packaging looks cheap… esp since their lipstick packaging is often gorgeous. Still, love the colors.

    Hi KK,

No, I got the hook-up from a friend who works for Shu. One of these days I’ll take a pic of the whole collection… but right now I need Advil and TV (bad migraine, oy)!

    Hi Anna,

All the Shu lipsticks I have are taste- and smell-free (yay)!

One of these days I’ll get around to doing that. Right now I can’t find half of it, LOL.

    Hi Tuprnut,

Yah, I’ve heard that same thing from other girls too. It’s def. a different look… to me it’s more functional rather than elegant (not like Chanel and Estee Lauder).

    Hi Dao,

I am so glad you got that brush. It’s life-changing isn’t it? And it’s a mere $14.99 to boot.

Smart idea to put the brushes in a pretty vase. 🙂 I might get a few in different, complementary colors. That would be really pretty. I only have a few lines of brushes – mostly MAC, some Billy B., and then random ones from different lines. Oh but I love ’em all, they are my weakness.

Good to hear you’re feeling better. I’ve got a bad headache right now so I’m going to get some rest.

    Hi Shiny,

If it’s any consolation the plastic is cheap and sturdy (it better be for $23)!

Which one do you think you’ll pick up?

Which color is in the bottom right of the group photo (medium pink lippie)? I’m new to your website – discovered it in the last week or two – and you are now my favorite site!! Your posts are so detailed. I love how you do swatches, and tutorials. And you absolutely crack me up!! We seem to have a lot in common – an obsession with Madonna, reality t.v., oh… and makeup. 🙂 Keep up the good work!

LOL! I agree that shu uemura should name them! All the numbers are getting me confused so much so that I can’t point out which is the one I like. Hey, maybe that’s the trick of making each customer buy more than one lipstick each time. Haha!
