Rouge Bunny Rouge: In This Makeup Fairy Tale, Regal Rabbits Reign

March 24th, 2012 by Karen 31 Comments

Rouge Bunny Rouge

Oh, boy. Obsession alert. I’m still hungry for The Hunger Games, but I sense a new obsession in the works.

Three words: Rouge Bunny Rouge.

Consider those for a moment. Rouge — great stuff right there. And bunnies — which are also awesome. With a name like that, you just can’t lose. 🙂

They’re an up-and-coming indie line from the UK (like a Victorian English Armani) with an elegant flair.

“RBR combines the best from the worlds of cosmetics and design, while treasuring Victorian-style fairy tale and Tsarist aristocratic identity at its core. In an era when most brands are concerned with following the trend, we provide something quite different; a thoughtfully balanced palette of colours, for true seekers of beauty, who choose beauty over brand name or fad.”

— rougebunnyrouge.com

I plan to spend part of this weekend getting to know four pieces from their Enchanted Garden Collection, a liquid highlighter, a powder eyeshadow, a blush wand and a loose glitter pigment…

1. Seas of Illumination Highlighting Liquid in Sea of Showers

I mean, come on. Bunnies in their logo? That’s just not fair. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this brand, but I just can’t bring myself to purchasing anything from them. The names of their products are just…. so funny:)))

Welcome to the cult!! I fell for these guys earlier this year, when I first tried their lovely shadows and lipsticks and I’m already desperate for more. Actually, I was certain I was going to love them anyway just because of that utterly charming imagery they use. And yeah… BUNNIES

I have been dying to try something from Rouge Bunny Rouge for forever! I’ve heard literally nothing but good things from a zillion beauty blogs…only reason why I haven’t made the leap yet is because I hate to by sight unseen…but I think it may be time to get over that and buy a few things from this line 🙂

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Rouge Bunny Rouge. Too bad, they’re not sold in stores and are only available online. =(

By the way, I’m really liking that highlight. Looks gorgeous!

Oh girl you are in deep trouble! You’ve been bit by The Bunny! I have maybe six shadows, one blush and six or so lipsticks. Their products are divine! Many bunnies have crossed the ocean my way and many more will be sure to follow. I usually wait for a sale on zuneta.com before adopting more bunnies.

    Bunny kisses to you!

I love that pigment! I’ve heard too many good things about RBR (btw I thought this brand was launched in Russia? Anyways), but the price scares me a little. Maybe one day I will eventually plop down the money and get some. I really dig some of their eyeshadows!

Have heard nothing but good things about RBR! Haven’t made the leap though – I have trouble buying sight unseen. I know there are scores of great swatches available online – it’s just not the same as being able to try it in person. That matte eyeshadow looks just perfect for spring – lovely, soft, pale lavendar. Love their names too!

    What Tracy said.

I have an RBR list that keeps growing.
Last night I started looking at the Love Lights highlighter online and wow. Their products are incredible.

How similar is Sweet Dust Seriema to MAC Copperplate?

Bunnies! I’m sure my bunny Quincy would encourage me to buy this, but he’s currently sniffing and hopping around the living room. That cream blush is gorgeous.

All of those look gorgeous! That highlight color looks especially nice on your skin tone =) I’ve never tried RBR, but have only heard good things about their products. I do wish I could see the products myself before buying; there’s nothing quite like swatching for yourself!

RBR is brand I am trying to buy but the shipping to India is ridiculous at Zuneta. Their Sea of Illumination and Blush wands are just so amazing. Their loose shimmers reflect light so amazingly that they would soon be cult favorites.
I just hope I save on shipping!! Btw you must review their brushes too!!

Help! I’ve been bitten by the Bunny! I am anxiously awaiting a package from Zuneta.com. I am so excited I can’t stand it…I am totally obsessed! They are sold out of a few things that I want so of course I am totally obsessing about those. When will they be getting more product in??? OK, calm down…have to pace myself here. Still, I can’t wait to get my box!:)

I ordered the following products: Angelic Cockatiels and Gracious Arasari, both shimmery neutral eyeshadows; Bejewelled Skylark, a shimmery, brownish-bronze eyeshadow. Nothing Unknown and Scrumptiously Devious, both beige-y pink lipsticks, and Delicata blush, sort-of a pink/coral/beige. I don’t think I’ve described them very well, they sounded so much better on the website! I wanted to get the Solstice Halcyon eyeshadow which was described as a medium taupe(always looking for taupes!), but they were sold out. I also wanted to get a bronzer and some of the other really interesting sounding eyeshadows but this stuff is expensive! I’ll let everybody know when my package arrives, I can’t wait!

      oooh! You are so lucky!
I’ve been wanting Solstice Halcyon and Gracious Arasari as well. I was thinking about Sweet Dust Seriema too, but I already have MAC Copperplate so Karen’s saved me a purchase! It’ll be some time before I can save enough to get SH and GA. Until then I’ll be living vicariously through others. It’s still fun. 🙂

Dear Karen, I have been in love with RBR for 3 years now and own tons of stuff from them. I think I’ve never ever been disappointed by them so far, I love everything from the packaging to the product, EVERYTHING! Their skincare is way too expensive but really really great, their primers are great, the color payoff is amazing. With your gorgeous skintone, you must absolutely try the following eyeshadows : Abyssinian Catbird (how could you miss that one anyway??), Delicate Hummingbird, Bejewelled Skylark and Mysterious Tinamou. Try the Original Skin Blush in “Orpheline”, the color looks crazy in the pan but believe me, it is buildable and amazing on the cheeks. And the staying power is great. You must get one of their Devotion Inks, the one in “Tiger Eye Essence” will look truly amazing on you, you will love the “Word of Mouth” Colour Burst Lipstick and give a try to one of the Decadent Duos (liquid blush on one end and matching gloss on the other), I have them all and these are the best non greasy creamy liquid blushes I have ever tried in my life. Needless to say I’m hooked!!!
