Philosophy Supernatural Collection and a Big TGIF!

Clockwise from lower left: Superglossy Lipgloss SPF 15 in Share the Love and Live in the Moment ($17 each), Instant Sunshine Natural Mineral Bronzer ($28), Lit From Within Cream Blush in Bare Your Soul ($23) and You Make Me Blush Mineral Blush Duo in Sunny/Bright ($25)

TGIF

TGIF and good morning, lovelies! We made it to Friday. 🙂

How was your night? Mine was filled with Runningrunning… that is to say I went for a run after work, watched Project Runway (so glad Mitchell finally got the boot) and let my imagination run wild with Philosophy’s new Supernatural Makeup Collection (available now).

If you’re into natural makeup and stuff that’s easily tolerated by a variety of skin types, this new collection of sheer colors for face, cheeks, eyes and lips might be worth checking out.

Philosophy says they’re free of parabens, phthalates (plasticizers used in everything from children’s toys to eyeshadows and nail polish), mineral oil, talc, sulfates, propylene glycol and fragrance — and they won’t clog pores or irritate skin.

I really like the textures and colors from what I’ve seen. They strike me as things I’d want to wear on my “non-makeup” days.

As soon I’ve spent some time wearing them out of the house, I’ll let you know how they hold up to everyday use. 🙂

What are your plans for the holiday weekend? Doing anything fun?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love these colors, too. Don’t they all look so wearable?

      Hi Glosslizard,

Yes ma’am! Testing currently in progress. 😉

How’s your Friday going so far? I’m trying to get my work done so I can go to Sephora (very strong motivator).

      Hi Eru,

I’m wearing the pink lipgloss right now and it’s lovely. How’s your day going so far? Doing anything fun this weekend?

I am not happy about missing project runway last night. I was hanging with my friend watching buffy (the show) on dvd. I am glad Mitchell’s gone, though. What a hack.

Hey Karen, I am loving The Perfect Cheek. It is sooo pretty especially with high strung and personal taste. I might rock that for a few days. 🙂

      Hi Shontay,

Remember the whole Buffy/Spike affair? I could never get behind that… I really loved her with Riley, though!

Okay, I’ll give The Perfect Cheek a go next time I pop by the MAC counter. You never know until you try, right?

I’m totally coveting the bronzer/blush compact. The blush looks like such a pretty shade of pink!

      Hi Kristen,

That’s probably one of my fave pieces so far. The pan is HUGE, too, which is always a good thing.

This would be a perfect kit for my sister who likes natural make up.

Have a great weekend. I have Monday off (yippee!) and am going to avoid the Bay Area traffic. Took me two hours from Pacifica to Novato last night. Not fun but it was worth it since I got to see some of my friends.

Probably going to watch some Mad Men and just relax.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
