The New Too Faced Natural Love Palette

March 7th, 2017 by Karen 35 Comments

The new Too Faced Natural Love Palette ($59)

I bet the cat ladies out there will feel me on this! There’s a shade in the $59 Too Faced Natural Love Palette called Kittens.

There are 30 shades in this palette, which is designed for natural eye looks, but yes, of course, Kittens was the first one I got on my lids. 🙂

Natural Love is a “new” $59 limited edition palette coming out March 9th, and I say “new” in air quotes because 13 of the colors are cherry-picked re-promotes from previously released Too Faced Natural Eyes Palettes, while the other 17 are new.

Pretty packaging!

It’s mostly neutrals, with some not-too-crazy purple, pink and coral sprinkled in for good measure.

Sophisticated shimmer

This is such a fun palette, despite a preponderance of neutrals and nudes, partly due to the inclusion of so many fun, shimmery colors, like Kittens, which is a purplish gold duochrome.

When I apply it with a wet brush, which is what I did on my lids here, it lights up my face, but it doesn’t look intensely frosty or metallic. The duo chrome effect gives it a subtle golden flash that looks very high end.

Not a fan of the fallout…

Sadly, I’ve had some trubs with the nude mattes. There are things I love about them, like how they seamlessly flow into each other to create super smooth transitions, and there’s practically no danger of going into harsh line territory, but they’d benefit from more pigment. I have to do A LOT of layering with them, and the formula isn’t ideal for that. It’s kinda fluffy, and the powders tend to hop out of the pan when a brush touches them.

Basically, I end up with a lot of fallout.

The final verdict

I can’t knock this palette too hard because of how practical and useful it is for everyday looks, but it’s not altogether original. There are other neutral palettes out there with similar shades that don’t require as much layering or cleanup (ahem, NARS Loaded).

I think this one would be a good fit, though, for a Too Faced newcomer looking for an introduction to the brand’s shadows who also doesn’t mind having to do some cleanup.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Good morning and happy Tuesday. I’m sitting here drinking coffee out of my cat mug, watching the sun rise and listening to the birds singing. It’s going to be a great day!

That palette looks stunning! I was really thinking of getting it but now I don’t know… I think I’ll get one of the chocolate ones (don’t really know the exact name) instead as I’ve never tried them either and everybody raves about them.

      Hi Marta,

The original Chocolate Bar palette is excellent! I like that one a lot.

This is one of those palettes where I almost feel there are too many colors. I’d look at it and not be able to decide what to use that day, so I’d keep piling on colors and ed up with a muddied mess.
Sometimes too much choice is just as bad as not enough.

YES! I totally understand that feeling. I get overwhelmed with the mega palettes sometimes. It’s too much!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. While the palette does look gorgeous, I HATE when Brands repeat colors in different palettes. I have a ton of Too Faced Palettes and am sure I have many of these colors already.

I love the Sweet Peach palette! I know I’ll be using it alot this spring. I also like the Original Chocolate Bar and The PB & J palette! I also have some of their holiday palettes that I don’t reach for as often.

Sweet Peach is so much fun. And it smells amazing, doesn’t it? I’m the same way with their holiday palettes. I think there’s just too much choice sometimes!

          Happy Wednesday!

Oooh, cat mug. 🙂 It’s too bad about the fallout from this palette but at least it does have a color named Kittens. I was partial to Bunny Nose as a name. HAHA!

I love this palette. I actually don’t own any naked or neutral palettes because they usually have too many browns (which I KNOW that you love, but don’t work for me.) These are the colors that I love and have been waiting for in a palette. But, I’m always wishing for a for pale sky blue matte, but I never see that color. I also love shimmers but dislike frosts. I probably will get this palette, but hope that it doesn’t sell out so that I can test it first.

They have 3 different matte collections on this page (2 at the top and one at the bottom) and sell samples for $1. I used to have a light blue satin shadow from this company awhile back so it popped in my head when I saw your comment. It looks like there are a few that might fit your description!
Also if Meow minerals doesn’t have the exact shade then maybe try some other mineral and indie cosmetics brands.

Is it bad that I want this palette just for the Kitten shade? Nah, it just makes me a certifiable crazy cat lady lol!! Even thought it’s not super original and there’s some fall out, I probably will get this. I love neutrals! And kittens. 😉

The colours in this are absolutely beautiful-but I feel the Too Faced matte shadow quality isn’t quite so good these days. Maybe my lids are just ageing and harder to work with!!

The mattes can be challenging sometimes, for sure! Especially in terms of layering.

Oh, my… what a lovely palette, Karen! You’re making me fall in love for this brand. I don’t need a new palette but I feel the urge to grab the Sweet Peach or this Natural love palette!!! Yes, the mattes look chalky but the shimmery shades are superb…
no wait, even the PBJ and the chocolates looks fun… No, what you’ve done to me? 😀

Is the quality of this palette equal to the original chocolate bar? Do you think a primer would help with fall out?

Thanks for the swatches and review! They actually look like they swatched quite beautifully on you! Too Faced’s formula is always questionable when it comes to limited edition palettes, so it’s great to see the colors come out so vibrant! Too bad about having the fall out, but in my mind, it’s not such a big problem so long as I do my eye makeup before my face makeup. I already purchased the palette and can’t wait to play around with it myself! Thanks so much!

Oh wow, I really hope that Kittens is available solo! It’s just the right colour for me and it’s named after my joint-favourite thing in the world – I can’t choose between kittens and chocolate ?
