New Dolce and Gabbana Makeup for Summer 2010: The Midnight Bloom Collection

March 18th, 2010 by Karen 35 Comments

Smooth Eyeshadow Quad in Fabulous, $59

What’s up, sunshines? I love spring and all, but I wouldn’t mind fast forwarding to summer, summer, summertime and the release of Dolce and Gabbana’s upcoming Midnight Bloom summer makeup collection.

Dolce & Gabbana doesn’t do drugstore, and this luxurious eight-piece release for eyes, lips, face and nails costs a pretty penny, but lovers of beachy greens, corals, pinks and blues might find it hard to resist.

I haven’t tracked down the exact release date yet (lemme know if you find it), but I’ll update you when I do.

Take a quick look at these promo picks, and holla at me in the comments if anything catches your eye. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

P.S. I almost forgot to ask! How was your night? What did you do? El Hub got home late from a meeting, but we still went out for a quick beer to this little Irish pub downtown. Place was packed!

The lipstick colours are all mine – but I dunno where to get’em in Germany. No need though, I am happy with Incognito (Chanel Allure Spring 2010).

I’m not a big fan of their packaging. I know its made gold so it looks all luxurious but somehow it just doesn’t look too great to me, like they’re trying to hard. Plus I have a feeling it would attract fingerprints like crazy…

I agree with you, Sheila. I’m not a fan of their pkging. It’s rather grandma-esque.

Eh, it’s not too bad. Fingerprints don’t really bother me though (unless I have to take lots of pics of the products).

Yeah… if you like the colors you might be into MAC to the Beach. There will be greens and corals in that one!

Those are pretty but a bit too expensive for me! I try to put like a cap on what I would pay for makeup …. I can only hope I succeed. Ive made exceptions though (eg the Nars palette).

I think the blue pencil is absolutely lovely, though!

Last night was pure madness. It was crowded and crazy. There was a green milk chugging contest …. not a pretty sight afterwards. Men will sometimes do things that are not very smart (one of which is chugging down 5 gallons of green WHOLE milk….). Crazy!!!

No kidding! I’ve been all about brown and black liners as of late, but that blue one def. caught my eye. 🙂

Ooh, I don’t even want to know what happened after that chugging contest!

I am sitting here reading your blog and watching the news. Uhm they showed what happened after the chugging contest …. and there I thought id escaped that disturbing sight!!!! LOL!

Oh … well I was thinking, If I get JUST the blue liner, it should be okay, Right? Right!!!!

The Emotion lippie looks really pretty for cool skintones, but I’ve got my eye on Chanel’s Rose Comete already 🙂

Delicate and Delicious look quite nice, but I’m sure there’re alternatives from other brands. For some reason, D&G makeup just doesn’t appeal to me 🙁

I think it’s one of those lines that either makes you swoon or go “eh.”

Even if you’re not crazy about, maybe try one of the polishes one of these days. They’re pretty good!

D&G makeup has never appealed to me. The shadesa are all so safe and probably asily dupable and the packaging looks so boring and cheap to me. It’s not worth the price tag imo. 🙁

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
