Milani Spiked the Punch Bowl With Pigment! Introducing New Milani Color Statement Lipsticks

February 8th, 2013 by Karen 37 Comments

Milani Rose Amour Color Statement Lipstick
Here I’m wearing the new $5.49 Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Rose Amour, one of 30 new shades available now at drugstores and online at milani.com

I can hardly believe that Milani’s new line of lightweight, creamy, pigmented Color Statement Lipsticks clock in at a cool $5.49 per tube. If you dressed these up a little, maybe gave ’em a packaging makeover, no joke — they could probably pass for Tom Ford lippies!

Oh, but we might want to do something about that fruit punch fragrance… Wow! Talk about strong.

If fruity fragrances in your lip products aren’t a big issue for you, climb in, because these are like the Lamborghinis of drugstore lipsticks.

Here’s a quick peek at the pink and coral shades from the line…

How is the wear on these? I’m kinda wanting to get a nice, pigmented color for a Valentine’s Day event I’m going to…but I want it to have some sort of stay-power to it. I love Flirty Fuschia!

Fruit Punch ftw! It’s a lightish shade that our medium-deep skin can actually handle. So rare. So good!

The shades look very pretty, but I can’t stand strong fragrances in my lipsticks! 🙁

Why do companies have to add weird scents to lippies?

I have been starting to see the new Milani lipsticks around. I’m thinking of picking up one of the shades I have in old formula to compare, though the idea of the fragrance is a turnoff, hmm.

I really like Milani products, esp their blushes. I think they are most lacking in their lipstick line so these should be interesting. Not too sure about the ‘fruit’ flavor, but I sure did like fruit punch 🙂

Drugstore makeup just gets better and better – Milani has always done well with eye and lip stuff (though some of their eye makeup has been hit or miss). I don’t wear lipstick much but these would be fun to try since they are about 5 bucks a piece.

Rose Hip and Rose Amour look just like all those MAC Magenta/Purple shades that have come out recently!! I wish I could love these, but sadly, fake fruity products break it in my book. I tried L’oreal Infallible lip glosses, and almost had to expel my lunch. They look lovely on you, though!

Although I’m not the biggest fan of pink on my nails, on my lips, I really enjoy pinks. These look great!

    Hi Karen,
I just bought Flamingo Rose (love!) & thought it resembled MAC Moxie (based on swatches I’ve seen). How do you think they compare (if at all)? Thanks!!! xoLiz

i am a huge fan of the milani brand. yes they are drugstore products…BUT are just as good if not better than some high end goods. seriously! =) i have the lipstick in pink frost, and yes its frosty..but looks so pretty with a deep smokey eye. im a makeup artist/hairstylist, and when i wear it people compliment me! now when u think pink frosty lipstick, u think ew! 80’s or 60’s mod…but thats hot! u can def play this color up. i have yet to use the others but im super excited to! =) ps..milani baked shadows r to die for! try the dark blue and the deep brown shade.. whoa.
    lol
