I went to a candy store yesterday, and this is the makeup I had on while engaging in a deep discussion with my loved ones about popcorn-flavored jelly beans.
Seriously, why do people get so worked up about popcorn jelly beans? I think they’re absolutely delightful and will go so far as to call them my favorite flavor. Everyone else around me thinks they’re gross. Where do you stand on this OBVIOUSLY VERY IMPORTANT MATTER?
(Side note: I didn’t actually end up choosing the jelly beans as my treat though. I went with an old classic instead, the Cadbury Fruit and Nut Bar).

Raise a glass to shimmery champagne shadows
This is a one-and-done eye makeup look with a single shimmery cream champagne shadow stick worn as liner and eyeshadow. If you don’t have one of these already in your makeup arsenal, I highly recommend finding one you like ASAP.
The champagne shade adds brightness and shine to lids, and in my experience, it’s one of those colors that instantly perks up your face, especially if you look like you haven’t been sleeping well (which has been me lately).
If you can find a champagne stick that works as a liner *and* a shadow, then that’s even better. The one I’m using here is a long-wearing one by Lancôme called Ombre Hypnose Stylo in Erika F.

The Hourglass Sunset trio
To keep the look easy and fresh, I blended a trio of sheer cream products onto my cheeks. I used the Hourglass Sunset Trio, which has a cream bronzer, blush and highlighter, all tucked conveniently into one compact. It used to be part of the permanent collection, but then Hourglass discontinued it, and this season they brought it back. It’s expensive at $62, but it’s SO GOOD (here’s a review if you’re interested).

Then I lined my lips with nude liner and dabbed a peachy pink gloss on top. (Oh, and yes, I ended up blotting the gloss off before I left for the candy store because I didn’t want it to transfer onto my mask).

Makeup worn in this look
- BASE: Bare Minerals Original liquid Mineral Foundation in Tan Nude 17
- CHEEKS: Hourglass Illume Sheer Color Trio in Sunset
- EYES: Lancome Ombre Hypnose Stylo in Erika F, Laura Mercier Caviar Mascara, Urban Decay Brow Beater in Neutral Brown
- LIPS: Charlotte Tilbury Liner in Pillow Talk and Hourglass Canvas Gloss
This will kick your butt!
Dunno if I mentioned this, but I’ve been doing a lot of low-impact workouts lately. Low-impact typically doesn’t have any jumping or jarring moves, but that doesn’t mean that the workouts are low intensity! The really good ones leave me dripping in sweat, like this one by Caroline Girvan. It’s only 30 minutes, but you’re working the entire time, and every part of your body gets up in the mix, so it’s a full-body workout. Give it a try, and let me know what you think!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Love that look Karen! I do not like buttery popcorn jelly beans, but I like those two things separately. What nail polish are you wearing holding that candy bar? Mmm now I want candy!
Thanks, Rachel! I’m wearing Essie Angora Cardi, which is one of my favorite fall colors. Here’s a swatch! In the candy bar pic it looks more brown because of the lighting, but in real life it leans more purple.
That’s what I was going to guess! I have a mini of that color but it’s getting kind of dried up and gross now. I wish they would make this color in their gel couture formula!
I would love that too. The Gel Couture in Not What It Seams is similar, but not an exact dupe. Pretty though!
First of all, what kind of name is “erika f”? Second of all, it is an amazing color – I love that silvery glimmer shimmer! The whole look is fresh and lovely on you.
I know. I like to think she’s a glamorous friend!
I love the shirt! Super cute ☺️
Thanks, Savannah! 🙂
Oh my gosh, I love buttered popcorn jelly beans. My aunt lives 10 minutes from the Jelly Belly factory and whenever we visit her I load up. I can’t find them here in Florida- I’ll have to look harder. Enjoy!
I went to the factory once when I was a teenager and don’t remember much about the trip other than buying a bag of popcorn jelly beans. LOL! 🙂

Love the popcorn ones! Glad you do too. Graphite is pretty!!
They’re the best! My brother hates them though.
I wore Graphite the other day with a black liner and it was the perfect easy smokey eye!
This is such a great look. Definitely so fresh and pretty! I don’t like jelly beans at all, so I can’t help you there. 🙂 Have you ever had the Harry Potter ones where it could be popcorn or could be vomit, etc? It used to gag me out to watch the kids play that game. HAHA!
Thanks for the workout rec – you always have good ones!!
