Dior Fall 2008: Impression Cuir Fall Pics and Full Product List

June 18th, 2008 by Karen 32 Comments

It being almost summer and all, let’s take a moment to wax philosophic about an upcoming fall collection slated for a summertime release: Dior’s Fall 2008 Impression Cuir makeup collection. No matter what Dior calls it, this collection looks hot. Put on your water wings, grab some sweet tea (or gin and juice, haay!) and take a look.

Due for release this August, the collection features rich, romantic colors like burgundy, plum and copper and embossed animal-inspired textures — think crocodile and python. The makeup gods say dark lipstick will be big this fall, and I’m looking forward to Fantastic Plum Rouge Dior (pictured below). I think it’ll look great with my warm winter coat and knee-high boots.

The Dior Impression Cuir Fall Collection…

    Nails

    • Mystic Violine #987 (available at Sephora only)

I can’t wait to check out the palettes and glosses. How about you? Are you looking forward to Impression Cuir? 🙂

For some reason, reading about Impression Cuir’s rich fall colors and animal patterns made me lust after fall boots and shoes. I surfed on over to the Nordie’s website this afternoon, and they already have Stuart Weitzman fall shoes available for pre-order. Be still my lil’ black heart!

    fall-shoe-lust

Too bad these are out of my price range. Damn … I would give up flip flops forever for a pair of those red boots. Le sigh!

I just got home from hip hop class. I haven’t danced in a looooong time. It was fun (we danced to Cyclone by Baby Bash and T-Pain, LOL!), but I bet my booty is gonna hurt tomorrow. For the record, my body don’t move like a cyclone.

What do you have going on for tonight?

    Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

    Karen

ohhhhh “Iridescent Leather #539” that sounds so intriguing! I hate waiting though!

It’s not wickedly hot anymore, thankfully! It’s mid 50’s tonight which is really nice. Good sweatshirt weather. 🙂
Your dance class sounds awesome. I tried one around here but the teacher wasn’t very instructional and I just got frustrated. I should find a better one!

    Hi Jax,

Me too! I’m learning more about the line and I’m really lovin’ it.

Post Hawaii is happy and sad. I’m happy to be home but sad to be away from the water. I don’t know when I’m going to go surfing again (*big sigh*).

    What’s new with you?

    Hi Bridget,

I agree! I can’t wait to see the colors in person. I hope Iridescent Leather is a rich, shimmery brown. 🙂

Have you danced before? My teacher usually tells new students to give it about four lessons. (Although it took about a year for me to feel really comfortable with hip hop, I must admit.)

Tonight I watched So You Think You Can Dance. Are you watching it? Some amazing dancers this year.

    Hi Marisol,

Hey, but at least your makeup is hot! 🙂

LOL! I was just watching it while eating dinner (chili and rice). What was going on with Mary Murphy’s outfit? I’m all for animal print, usually, but dang.

I really loved the choreography that Will and his partner (I can’t remember her name) did for their hip hop routine. FIERCE!

Aaah, I just got back from an excellent aikido session! Working out in this balmy weather just leaves my muscles all loose and happy! 🙂

That lipstick color is luscious! Such a rich, indulgent color, and plums are right up my alley! 5-color eyeshadow in iridescent leather sounds intriguing, I wanna see that!

I need those red boots! How ’bout a black patent leather mini-trench to go with? 😉

Hi Karen, speaking of hiphop (well more like r&b), I got cornrows done over my entire head. Most people have been giving me weird looks in the metro but the black community seem much more appreciative. It’s kind of an Alicia Keys look though it’s just simple straight cornrows in the front and tresses libres in the back. I think I might go have the front changed today though cuz it’s too basic and the straight lines make my head look egg-shape.

The shoes are hot! I don’t like the packaging of Dior makeup products. I think they look sort of pretentious and over-priced.

Wow, the nail vernis looks awesome! And wow, we’re going broke in no time if Karen continues lemming us with all these Chanel and Dior 😉

j/k girl! I got a pair of eyeshadows from Cool Heat last weekend, “Cool Heat” and “Warming Trend” I think. “Warming Trend” is a very interesting color and I totally heart it. I also got back to the exercise bandwagon and it’s fun! (you don’t hear me saying exercise is fun that often, usually some grunting and half-heart squats!)

I’m trying to finish my writing which I put off forever since I hate my research thesis. Anyways, it’s good to get over with while I can.

    Hi Glosslizard,

Isn’t this warm weather great? I’m so glad that we’re actually having a summer! I like exercising when it’s nice out, too (hmmm, I think I might go for a run this morning).

How cute would a mini trench be with those boots! LE SIGH! 🙂

    Hi Iheartmakeup,

Me too! Don’t you love the embossed pattern?

I really like plums, too, because for me they are slightly easier to wear than dark reds. It will probably be my color o’ choice when the seasons change. But for now, whew, I gotta think of a way to beat this heat! It’s going to be really hot here today.

I don’t mind the Dior packaging. I wish it was a bit more modern, but it doesn’t really offend me. What don’t you like about it?

    Hi Dao,

For me the hardest part of writing is just getting the first draft done. Once you get that over with then life is exponentially easier! You can do it, girl! Oh, and what’s your research thesis about?

Cool Heat is pretty, yah? I was very surprised by how much I liked the collection. 🙂

It seems a bit ironic that we’re finally having warm, summery days… just in time for all the fall collection news! Don’t get me wrong, though, I’m loving this weather!

Hi Karen, no, not at all, he didn’t like it and wasn’t the least supportive until I got mad at him. He said I looked like Sean Paul (granted, for some people, that’s not that bad, but hey, I’m a girl, it’s pretty insulting). Well, my stylist was a man so it does explain why I looked like a footballer, so this afternoon, I went and got the front part changed. Instead of straight lines which make my head look egg-shaped, another stylist, a woman this time (who’s obviously more sensitive to facial shapes etc) undid my braids and gave me V shapes, which frames my face more and so it’s a very Cleopatra look. I like it much better. I had HUGE afro hair in between and frankly, I loved it! It made me look really métissée.

I feel the packaging looks like overpriced drug store brands. I actually like some of the products at first glance but somehow I get tired of them very quickly. I love Chanel’s classic packaging and MAC’s modern look.

    Hi Karen B.,

When I get busy with work I often skip dance class too (boo), and my body really misses it — especially my back. It gets all screwy if I don’t exercise.

Did you dance a few times a week?

    Hi Glosslizard,

I ended up waiting ’till after work to run. It was still really nice out… and HOT! I’m gonna be sad when the fog comes back (sighs). Did you go to aikido today?

Oh, the irony! Today I put some shoes away and took a nice long look at my brown fall boots. I imagined all the plum lipstick shades I could wear with ’em. 🙂

    Hi Sylvie,

I kinda like the tough girl look you described. It makes me think of girl boxers who kick ass! Your new V shaped part sounds very elegant, though. Since it’s Cleopatra-ish maybe you should rock some thick black liquid liner on your top lid! That would be hot.
