Clarins Colour Breeze Collection for Spring 2012 Pics and Swatches

Oh, sweet Friday, how I love thee so…

Happy Friday, friend. 🙂 I hope you’re doing well. Me? I’m dealing with the aftereffects of an almost sleepless night (blasted insomnia!), but I’m beginning to feel better now. Colour Breeze, the new Clarins collection for spring 2012, has certainly helped.

The 12-piece release for eyes, lips, and cheeks can hardly wait for winter to end. Available now at Clarins counters and also online, it’s all about bright and fresh, with shades of pink, blue, coral, red and brown.

Reviews coming soon, but in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at six of the upcoming pieces. Take a gander, and let me know what you think.

And in unrelated television news…

Not that I needed to get hooked on another show, but I am! 🙂 It’s called Survivors (no relation to the reality TV franchise). It’s a British/BBC post-apocalyptic drama that only lasted a couple of seasons, but the episodes are all available for streaming on Netflix.

I’ve watched the first three, and I’m totally freaking out!

The premise? A particularly virulent strain of influenza wipes out pretty much everyone, save a random, tiny percentage of the population, somewhere around a tenth of 1 percent. Civilization falls, government and law enforcement cease to exist, and people are left to scavenge and start anew.

The show follows one of the many small groups of survivors who band together. Freaky! When lawlessness reigns, scary people come out of the woodwork.

One fascinating aspect of the show is that since it takes place in Britain, there are very few firearms floating around. There are a few of them, and the people who have them hold tremendous sway over others, but here in the U.S., there would be guns everywhere, for better and/or worse.

I realized quickly that I’m completely unprepared for an apocalyptic pandemic. I can’t siphon gas, fix a generator, or build a house out of wood. And I’m not an engineer, mechanic or a doctor. I guess if I fell in with a group of survivors, I could take care of their cats and soothe the children. Other than that, I don’t know…

Oh, and you know that old joke about how everyone has a twin out there somewhere in the world? Well, I think we found El Hub’s. The guy who plays Tom Price on the show, British actor Max Beesley, could be his twin!

Apparently, I married a British actor and didn’t even know!

I’m freakin’ out! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I wish pastely/gray-blue and silver shadows didn’t make me look like I got hit in the face. :'(

The glosses and the lippy Pink Magnolia look pretty. From the photo I wouldn’t expect the swatch of Pink Magnolia to be so sheer! Would you say it’s more pearl or shimmer?

Wow… I am addicted to all the new spring collections coming out! At least 2 of those shades in the eyeshadow quad will not be flattering on me, but I love the look of everything else… Especially those lipsticks and the color of that blush! Love! How will I afford all these new products I must have?!

Nice collection! Although it is a bit difficult to imagine spring when it’s 19 degrees outside.

That TV show sounds interesting. I have to admit, I’m fascinated by post-apocalyptic dramas. I try to make note of things that might be helpful if the world comes to an end this year. 🙂

    TGIF!

Take care of cats and soothe the children LOL! You crack me up! I’d be totally lost in a pandemic, too. How cute that you found your hubby’s twin! 😀 Anyhow, I’m intrigued by the coral blush and am eager to see it on you!
