Hi, gals. A few of you asked about the Bobbi Brown Earth Metal Lip and Eye Palette ($60, part of the Holiday collection) and demanded some swatches. 🙂

Up and down, up because I would sport ALL of those colors any day, down because they don’t look as pigmented on your lids as they are swatched. For sure, Bobbi’s stuff are top-of-the-line, I hope these are long-lasting and can survive without a base 😛 update us on that please!

      Hi Anna,

I wore Antique Gold the other day with just foundation and it lasted a good six hours without needing any major touchups. I rarely wear shadows on bare lids — usually I have primer on, otherwise they just disappear. Do you wear shadows on the lid without anything beneath ’em? I’m jealous that you can do that!

Black spruce looks nice but antique gold, and sunset gold seems to be just shimmery on you and I can’t seem to tell the difference when it is on your eyelid. I am about the same skin tone as you even darker (NC35/40) so I think I am on the fence on this one.

And yes, I did scout out my local Sephora but they don’t really have a lot of the Philosophy stuff I wanted. I was able to see the 24/7 liners and I am so getting those!

      Hi Patti,

A lot of the shades have subtle differences … they’re hard to tell at first glance, but they’re there. I did this on plain lids to show how the color looks without anything layered beneath, and I’m guessing the right cream shadow should make the individual colors pop a bit more.

Oh, and you know I love my 24/7 Liners. Which ones are you getting?

I’ve been trying to find BB products to buy, but I am always so underwhelmed by what I see online and in person. It’s just not fab and flashy the way I like it. In a world of Chanel, Nars, Mac and MUFE, I just can’t justify spending my hard earned $$$ for BB.

      Hi Shontay,

I think the look appeals to a certain type of makeup lover, for sure. I reach for her stuff when I’m in the mood for neutral/natural looks.

Have you picked up any good Chanel lately?

I like the colors, the are among my favorites. I also like them cause the seem a lil bit shimmery and I think they could be use for an evening makeup.

Thumbs up AND thumbs down, I think — the colours look incredibly gorgeous swatched, but most of them seem so sheer on your lid!! Not to mention, $60 seems a little obscene to me.

(But the packaging is just SO pretty!! -sigh- Be still, my beating heart!)

      Hi Rae,

I’m gonna try packing them even more and/or layering them beneath a cream shadow. That should make this pop a bit more!

And yah, I feel the same way about the packaging — so pretty!

Meh, they’re pretty, but not unusual or outstanding. I think I have enough similar colors in my collection to do without this one – as I bet a lot of makeup lovers do…

Golden Leaf and Black Spruce are really enticing, but to be honest, between the price tag and the fact that the palette also contains lippies IIRC, I’m going to pass.

Total change of topic-do you remember gloss.com? I wish wish wish they hadn’t gone out of business. My husband will buy me presents from sephora.com but if I point him to a department store website, it doesn’t work as well.

      Hi Sdpfeiffy,

I do remember that website. I never ordered from the, though, just looked around.

Hmm… maybe send your hubby the specific department store links? Or maybe make a wishlist for him?

The colors are gorgeous, but I feel they are easily dupable with stuff from my collection. I wish BB did some unique colors once in while like their forest green gel liner.

I really like the colors in the Bobbi Brown collection, but $60 is a bit too pricey for me right now, especially since I pre-ordered the smokey eye palette from the MAC Holiday collection today. It comes with 6 shadows and was $36. If money was no object, I would probably purchase the Bobbi Brown palette. Hubby is freaking out about how much I have spent over the last month on makeup, but I assured him that this was an abnormal month with my trips to Target, WalMart, Rite Aid, Ulta, Sephora, and Nordstrom! LOL!

The colors all look very lovely in kind of a natural way (black spruce being the exception) but considering the price, how well the lip colors work would also be a factor. That and I only plan on getting one of the BB palette’s this holiday season and am wondering if the silvery/gray one will be better.

These are all very pretty and I love golds and greens and the colors are all very wearable. I have very similar colours from other brands though, but I think it would be a great way for people who are starting to buy make up to build their kits. Plus usually most palettes tend to pretty good value.

Darn…we had a long weekend and a helluva thunder storm to celebrate. It rained BUCKETLOADS, I was sorta freaked out (Pepa too, she slept in my room, LOL). A good movie, an interesting book, dancing to your I-Pod, hey, the weather may be thumbs down, but inside your house you can partay!
The palette doesn’t wow me, but a couple of shades grabbed my attention 😀 Not surprised!

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick.
