BECCA Ever-Matte Skin Shine Proof Foundation: Oil Better Knot Stand in the Way of This Marriage

BECCA Ever-Matte Skin Shine Proof Foundation

Oh, Matte, yes! A thousand times YES!

I think I’m going to cry…

I’ve been wondering when you’d ask. You just made me the happiest girl in the world. 🙂

I actually thought you might pop the question that morning two weeks ago when we were getting ready for work. You were thinking about it that day weren’t you, Matte? We were standing in front of the mirror together, and I was holding on to you so tightly, and we looked into each other’s eyes, and I thought, “Yes, I could spend the rest of my life with you, Matte.”

Haha! It’s kind of crazy that we can spend all day together without driving each other nuts. Isn’t that crazy, Matte? I’ve never known a liquid matte foundation that left my skin looking so smooth and feeling so comfortable.

And the way you take control of oil on my forehead, nose and chin? — gosh, that’s so frickin’ hot. You always keep the shine away, baby, even on your own. I’ve never known another matte like that. Because of you, I don’t even need setting powder. That’s epic, Matte.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that you look so good in pics, haha! Oh, you know it’s true. You’re easy on the eyes. You look so natural on my skin. Not fake or mannequin-like at all. Honestly, because of problems in my past with that, I didn’t think I’d ever commit to a matte foundation…

Before you.

I love how just the smallest amount patted on my cheeks, my nose and around my chin and mouth give me medium coverage. And how if I want more opacity, all I have to do is add and blend another layer.

Now, your family — it’s big, Matte — and you know that I love your family, but are we going to invite all 18 of your brothers and sisters? Because that’s going to be a big-@ss wedding. Bigger than we talked about.

Why don’t we just call your cousin, and have her meet us at City Hall? We could elope right then and there.

Oh, Matte! From here on out, it’s just us. Just you and me, baby. 🙂

BECCA Ever-Matte Shine Proof Foundation

The marketing mumbo-jumbo: A liquid matte foundation with medium coverage designed for oily and combination skin. Microfine powder particles in the formula help control shine while minimizing fine lines and creating an exceptionally smooth, matte soft-focus effect. Matte without oil, alcohols or fragrances, and it’s available in 19 shades.

The real deal: Bomb-diggity! I usually shy away from matte foundations, in large part because so many of them are very drying on combination skin like mine, but not this one. On me, it keeps oil under control, lasts all day long, and I can even skip setting powder. I LOVE the finish, too. It looks natural, both in person and in pics — not hard or harsh like many matte foundations.

And the best part of all? — that it absolutely refuses to settle into my pores or fine lines. I feel like it makes my skin look incredibly smooth, and for that it deserves an all caps WOOP-WOOP!

For medium coverage, I apply the tiniest amount with my fingers, and blend and smooth everything out with a kabuki brush. For fuller coverage, you can build it up. Just don’t forget to blend.

I think it was the first or second time I used it — but I was in a big hurry, so I didn’t blend, and I ended up with visible edges in the foundation on my skin.

Who might lurve it: If you have oily or combo skin and you’re looking for a liquid foundation with a natural matte finish and otherworldly oil control, you’re a prime candidate to fall in love with this. Just budget some time to blend (but it shouldn’t take long).

It looks great! I have very dry skin, so I know the formula won’t be for me.

I was looking at this one the other day since the summer is coming and my oil will be going into overdrive. Sounds like I need to go back and get it 🙂

Yeah, if you live near a Becca counter definitely give it a go. I didn’t expect to fall in love with it (usually prefer more of a dewy finish), but it’s so, so good.

It looks great on you! All the Becca foundations run a bit too dark for me (but really, what doesn’t, LOL? ) but they look like they have some great ones!

I have a sample of it I’ve been using! It’s quite nice, because the main foundation I know that is pale enough for me is MUFE Mat Velvet+ in 15, but it’s a bit drying on this girl! I mixed it with a BB cream for my wedding and it wore really well though!

I’ve been using some Lancome Teint Miracle lately too I got a sample of from my old boss. It’s quite nice, and the lasting power is good. It’s a tad too dark, but it’s the right undertone, so it blends out naturally (whereas I find a lot of pale foundations to be salmon pink on me!)

Wow! This foundation does the job! ( for you, hopefully for me too!) Everyone can tell the difference in the before and after photo! does this oxidize on you? And for reference what’s your Mac shade in studio fix fluid, powder and sculpt? 🙂

      Hi Atty.Kai,

I’m NC42. I do love me some MAC Sculpt! 🙂 As for oxidation — this doesn’t. A lot of foundations go darker on me, but with this, the color stays very true. Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂

Have you tried the Becca Ultimate Creme? It’s great….especially when used with the ONE brush!! I have this matte one….kind of found it to be too matte on my cheeks. May need to find something to maybe mix in.

Did you use a primer with this foundation and if so which one? I’m finally dabbling into high end makeup to tackle my oily skin once and for all and this one is certainly enticing! I got a sample of Clinique’s Stay Matte but I feel like application methods and primers are all such important factors to consider as well!

That is LITERALLY my engagement ring. I almost had a squee moment when I saw it. Do you have the same one? That would be a very cool coincidence. It is honestly my favorite inanimate object in the world. 🙂

I love the look of this foundation and I really want to try Becca. I just don’t think medium coverage is for me. How do you think this compares, consistency-wise with Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer? I know it’s supposed to be sheer but it feels thicker and kind of chalky to me.

I have almost the same skintone as you, so I love seeing your foundation recommendations! As an oily-as-fuck girl, I think this will be right up my alley. It almost looks like your skin is photoshopped in the second pic and I want some of that magic on my face. =D
