According to Sophisti-Cat Cosmetics, Meow Is a Purrfect Time for Cat-Inspired Makeup

Here, kitty. Come here, cat lady. Here, kitty-kitty-kitty. It’s time for treats!

Makeup treats. 🙂

I kid you not, I came this close to flopping on my back and showing my tum, tabby-style, when I heard about Sophisti-Cat Cosmetics.

It’s a new indie makeup line of products inspired by two of my favorite things: makeup and cats. And their motto? “…makeup should make you look as flawless as a feline.”

A sentiment with which Tabs wholeheartedly agrees…

The line features a husky selection of reasonably-priced products from powder eyeshadows to liners, powder and liquid blushes, loose pigments, a liquid cake eyeliner sealant, an eye and lip primer and lipsticks. Pieces range from $8-16 each, are made in the US and weren’t tested on animals.

Tabs wouldn’t stop making biscuits on my bare thighs this afternoon until I gave in to his demands to see pics and swatches. 🙂

I haven’t spent much time with the products yet, but here’s to hoping they’re purr-worthy. For now, I can say that I’m very excited about the Liquid Lips Lipsticks and the Bold Effect and Super Silky Shadows. I literally went, “Oooh!” out loud while swatching. They’re super pigmented and look like they should be a lot fun.

From cats to cat eyes…

Yes, please! — you may get Haute & Naughty with me. 🙂 As in MAC Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash mascara ($20), which I’m testing today…but I keep getting distracted by the eye makeup pics on the press release.

Okay, yeah, those lashes look pretty cool, but the brows, liner and eye shadow?? DOPE!

I love how the liner breaks in the middle of the lower lash line in the top pic.

Oh, and see how the wings on the bottom eye have brown blended in with the black? So cool!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Oh gosh I love the make-up, you look so fresh in the first picture with that lip! The second look is really sexy! Love the idea of liquid lips, they look very pigmented :).

I ain’t that crazy about cats, but this…is kinda awesome.

Lately, I’ve been a record on repeat, Karen — you are KILLING it with the eye makeup. And look at the red lips! And those earrings! (Where did you get them?) Sigh.

Never heard of that line before. Chachacha looks lovely on you!

Be sure to hug Tabs extra tight tonight. My Simon’s been at the vet the past two days with fluid in his lungs and congestive heart failure- and he’s only 7. There’s a good chance we will have to put him down tomorrow morning 🙁

These look promising and i love the name. I’m intrigued to see how the cake liner is. I’ve been wanting to try either a cake or gel eye liner, moving away from liquid. I also like flirtini and celebration.

The liquid blush looks AMAZING on you! I also love the peachy lipstick.
Nice products! I just wish they had more cats on their packaging :p

My male kitty Ernesto would love to put his paws on this. Actually he has already left a deep paw print in a lipstick pan in a Too Faced palette one day… followed by dozens of shimmery plum paw prints on the floor *sighs*
He also loves to rub his back against my makeup brushes… so even the synthetic ones end up with a lot of natural hair in them!!

The liquid blush is most intriguing to me! I like the MUFE ones, but this price is so much better, and is cat-inspired! And cake liner sounds awesome too!

I can’t help but think my bunny will get jealous though if I don’t get bunny-inspired makeup to match.

(And that new Haute & Naughty lash promo? LOVE. I’ve never really gotten excited about MAC’s mascaras, but the promo images for this one are just too cool.)

I know it must seem like I’m always confusing your blog with a *packaging* blog but the cut-outs on the eyeshadow boxes are way too cute. 🙂 Cha Cha Cha looks awesome on you, btw.

I like the break in the liner in the top MAC pic, too. Very cool!

LOL likes yellow, for some reason. I wore a yellow dress Wednesday and he kept on pawing at the dress as I was sitting w/ him on the couch! A cat w/ a color preference – that’s LOL!

They have a very wide range of products so if you want any recommendations you can ask me or Phyrra! I love their concealers, they are mineral powders but they are much more pigmented and silky than Bare Escentuals, for example.Their blushes are really nice and easy to use even if you aren’t a fan of loose powders.
The same thing goes for their shadows, great but they are loose and I know some people aren’t into that. Luckily they offer very inexpensive samples of everything! Oh and one last thing- they have nice eyebrow powders.
