With a Bold Performance, the Inglot Pippin Collection Puts on Quite a Show

October 9th, 2013 by Karen 21 Comments

Inglot Pippin Collection
Feeling the music! And wearing the new Inglot Pippin Collection on my eyes and lips

A long time ago (the ’90s), in a galaxy far, far away (high school), I proudly wore the badge of “Musical Theater Nerd.”

Still do, actually. It was one of the best times of my life, and I think that when you still know the lines to West Side Story after 20-something years (that’s what a few hundred hours of rehearsals will do to you), they should send you a “Musical Theater Nerd” lifetime membership card…

Memories of old rehearsals came flooding back to me when I’d heard that Inglot was collaborating with the Broadway musical, Pippin.

The brand is currently sponsoring the makeup for the Tony-Award winning production, which is running now in New York (I’ve never seen it but would love to), and the new nine-piece Pippen collection commemorates the show.

If bold blues, reds and golds — and gobs o’ glitter — make you belt show tunes, you can wear these pieces for eyes, cheeks, lips and bods while you perform. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Sleepy sheepy, babe. I’m exhausted. I want good food to magically appear in front of me, and then I just want to watch Parenthood until I pass out.

Hmm… Maybe I can talk El Hub into making me another grilled cheese sandwich tonight. He made one last night, but just between us, it wasn’t one of his best. 🙂

I hope your hump day went well. Anything new or interesting to report?

hahah, I love how funny you are all the time. And I think that royal blue shadow is the cherry on top of the….. errr, broadway inspiration? Oh, the point is, I love the color and the way you have reviewed it.

Those look great! One thing I find annoying is when people say Inglot is a cheaper version of MAC! Umm I don’t think so sista, I went to their website and their colors weren’t nearly as bright, I couldn’t find anything I wanted to buy, even for their reasonable price and supposed high quality! However, this collection might make me change my mind! A good way to make food appear in front of you? Go to sushi! That’s what I did last night! Sometimes the only way I can get through my day is food bribery, thinking about the good food I’m going to order after work, or beauty/clothing/shoes bribery, and we all know what that is!

Might want to google some swatches sista, because these ARE better than MAC. They have surpassed MAC’s supposed great quality products.

      180 & 212 lipsticks will be mine!!

Oh Karen but where are your Bob Fosse jazz hands? My high school did Pippin and I know what you mean about remembering lines – and for me it’s especially the songs from musicals we did and choir too. I think the inglot colors and glitters are good choices for the players in the show but they’re too much for my personal everyday wear. I can’t pull off that red lip like you- you look great!

I am passing the musical theatre nerd tradition on to my daughter. But nowadays, the Glee generation has made it cool, not nerdy to do musical theatre. Watching the Pippin performances on the Tony awards has made my daughter want to take circus arts classes. They got some serious moves! If only Inglot had given us some Patina Miller brownish burgundy signature lipstick or some Andrea Martin smokey eyeshadow, I would say “Sign me up, NOW.” U got me singing “We got makeup to do…” (PS if you haven’t seen Christina Applegate’s SNL fosse tribute yet, you are missing out. Hunt it down- it is worth the laughs!)

OMg theatre nerds represent! I had the honor of playing Audrey back in my HS production of Little Shop. To this day, getting eaten by a giant foam plant is one of my greatest achievements.

Karen, you crack me up. That duo makes me deliriously happy (drool, gold eyeshadow).
I am a closet theatre nerd. That is what I blog about in my free time and if it is a show I haven’t seen, you can be ding dong didlly sure I am googling the music and belting it out for weeks afterwords – so, no shame ;o)

Karen, I LOVE that you were in West Side Story!! I always wanted to do that one 🙂 I did a bunch of musicals in high school and an opera in college, and I really miss the stage sometimes… the crazy makeup, the period costumes, the hot stage lights, and the hilarious theatre atmosphere..

Anyhow, I’ve never tried Inglot products, but I’ve heard lots of good things- the liquid eyeliner looks good!

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
