OK, my fair friends, many of my makeup-loving pale pals say that it’s very challenging to find a bronzer that suits lighter skin tones. If this is the case for you, I believe I may have found a solution to your woes, and her name is Charlotte Tilbury. She’s got a bronzer/highlighter duo called Filmstar Bronze & Glow ($68, so start saving your lunch money), and there are two versions — Fair-Medium, pictured here, and Medium-Dark. Fair-Medium could be purrfect for lighter lasses.
If your makeup style is more “Sir John” than “Insta-glam”, I think you’ll love it.
The bronzer in Fair-Medium is a gorgeous peachy tan (no glitter in sight) without any weird or obnoxious orange undertones, so, what you get is a natural-looking, toasty almond tone when you sweep the finely-milled powder across your cheeks.

The highlighter is equally beautiful. It’s a peachy gold with dainty shimmer, and, like the bronzer, it’s more on the natural-looking side. If you prefer highlights with a delicate touch, you’ll love it.
Because the powder grains in both products in the duos are so incredibly fine, they soften the look of fine lines and pores impressively well. No tell-tale caked-on makeup here.
I stumbled upon this beauty thinking that Fair-Medium would suit my medium NC42 skin, but alas…it’s juuuuuuust a little too light for me, but I have been happily using it as eyeshadow transition shade and an inner corner highlight.
I’m very impressed by how well the powders blend, and when I buff them on my eyes, I’m like, “Where did my experience lines go?! Do I even have any on my 40-something lids?” LOL! (Side note: wishful thinking, Karen.)
I’ll probably get around to trying the Medium-Dark option eventually, but for now, #TeamCharlotte! You can find the duos in her permanent collection, dah-ling.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
I did splurge on this with the last Sephora sale and love it. I’m a light/medium skin tone and it looks natural and not at all orange. It’s my one and only Charlotte Tilbury product.
How’s Rosie doing and adapting?
Hi Barb,
I’m so glad it works for you; it’s a lovely power product and I can see why it would knock it out of the park for the light/medium skin tones.
Thanks for asking about Rosie Posie! Every day she opens up a little more… Turns out she’s quite affectionate AND quite bossy. (Reminds me of a cat I used to know, ha ha ha.) She’s very chatty, especially late at night and early in the morning! And she snores. lol Last night she fell asleep with us on the bed, it was super cute. Here are some pics of her I just took.
How have you been? Anything new to report?
I love these pictures! So cute!
She’s beautiful!! I’m doing good, thank you for asking. Nothing new and exciting going on here. Same old, same old. Enjoy the rest of your day!
Looks like it will be too light for me. But on another note. I love that pink necklace in the picture! Where is it from?
Hi Aditi,
It’s an old piece, I got it from LOFT ages ago!
I’ve had my eye on this gorgeous palette forever! I’m pretty pale myself so you’re making this sound very tempting to me 😉.
The Bronzer looks great for a pale person like me but I usually find highlighter shows up every wrinkle I have – and then some! You say this one doesn’t do that?
Rosie looks like such a sweetheart XX
Hi Sarah,
I didn’t have that issue with this highlighter (I should also note that I tend to go very light with highlighter). If you find that highlighters emphasize fine lines you might want to try a cream highlighter. I find they’re the most forgiving!
Beautiful cat 🐱
I just bought a CT lippie .
But , while back my neighbor sells Avon .
I found a great bronzer for my skin . Especially helpful when I’m tanned .
Oh nice! What color lipstick did you buy?
Hoola has been my go-to for bronzer for a while. I almost never wear one but I find it to be just right for my skin (not orangey but also not too brown/dirty looking). I love that you included some Rosie pics! Looks like she’s Rosie Cozy, which is great. Plus, I thought you’d like the rhyme. HAHA!
