Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define Eyeshadow Sticks | Review & Swatches

March 22nd, 2016 by Adia Goss 17 Comments

Cream eyeshadow sticks are among my favorite makeup products of all.  I love how easy they are to use, and I’m always on the market for a new good shadow stick.

I did a roundup of my Top 5 Eyeshadow Sticks last year, and now I wonder if these Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define eyeshadow sticks will make the cut.

The four shades here — Glistening Ray, Pink Pearl, Cool Mink and Velvet Truffle — are all smooth, creamy and extremely long-wearing.

After swatching them on my arm, I went to a cycling class, then showered, and the colors were still intact!

With the exception of Velvet Truffle, they’re all very sparkly, which I love.

Here are some swatches:

First off, Glistening Ray. It’s a yellowy gold with silver sparkles all throughout, but I was immediately drawn to Pink Pearl, because it’s shimmery and pink and, after swatching it, I realized that it’s an almost exact dupe for Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Pink Opal, except at, like, 1/3 of the price!

Cool Mink looks like a gray-toned purple in the swatch, but it’s more of a shimmery gray on my eyes.  In fact, on my lids Pink Pearl looks very silver, likely due to the silver sparkles.

Velvet Truffle is sort of a black/brown color, and it’s very smooth and blendable, which makes it perfect for smudging into the lash lines for messy smokey eyes.

For this look, I smudged Velvet Truffle along my upper lash line, then added Pink Pearl all over my lid.

Then I smudged Cool Mink along my lower lash line, followed by Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.

The total eye look took about five minutes.

For my brows, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown and Diorshow Brow Gel in Brown, which is a new favorite of mine because it adds just the right amount of color, and it’s super easy to use.

(I used it in this Day to Night Makeup Tutorial if you want to see it in action.)

And on my lips I’m wearing ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lip in Clueless with Kevyn Aucoin Lipgloss in Peonine on top.

My base is DiorSkin Nude Air Serum Foundation in 50. (Actually, I think this is too orange for me, so I’ll probably exchange it for 40.)

I like the quality and longevity of these Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define eyeshadow sticks, especially for the price, but I’m a tad disappointed that Pink Pearl doesn’t show up as pink on my lids. Still, I definitely recommend these if you’re looking for a sparkly eyeshadow pencil. They’re available now for about $8 each.

Have you tried these before?  Which one’s your favorite color?

These colors are great! I’ve always been curious about cream/stick eyeshadows. I’ve never used them. I have a feeling I would feel like I’m coloring my eyes, which may not be a bad thing…

These are super easy and really the only way I will wear eyeshadow on a normal workday!

These are gorgeous! I’ve wondered about this brand. They look great on you. I have a shadow stick from a high end brand (don’t recall which now) that I got at Sephora that’s uncomfortable on my lids. But I’ve often thought I should try a different brand. These are relatively cheap, so I’ll try the pink pearl! It’s such a pretty shade. That lipstick is really pretty on you, too.

These look nice. I like cool mink. It reminds me of MAC satin taupe.

Satin taupe! I was trying to think of what cool mink reminded me of and that’s it for half price.

Shout out to a MAC classic! It’s super similar to Satin Taupe.

I’m generally not too big on eyeshadow sticks, but I do kinda like the look of these. They seem like the perfect shades for big bright-eyed looks.

I prefer them less shimmery, but I am with you on loving eyeshadow sticks. I just got some new Clinique and KIKO ones that I am dying to put to the test.

Oh, please report back on how the KIKO ones work! I’ve had limited experience with the brand, but really like everything so far.

I like all the colors! I think Pink Pearl would be one I’d wear the most. Cool Mink and Velvet Truffle look a go to combo for a quick smokey eye!

Pink Pearl is def right up my alley for everyday looks, but I like how these would be easy for smokey looks too!
