OMG! Bed, Bath & Beyond Goes Major Makeup

November 1st, 2008 by Karen 45 Comments

So, I dragged El Hub out with me on this rainy Saturday to our local Bed Bath & Beyond store. We needed a new slipcover for the couch because Tabs has been shedding all over the place, eek!

We were just about ready to leave the store when I turned a corner and there, before my starstruck eyes, was a sight of such profound beauty that I almost dropped the shower caddy and slipcover I was cradling in my arms. What I saw was the biggest makeup and beauty department I’ve seen outside a MAC or Sephora in quite some time.

I couldn’t remember ever seeing cosmetics in a Bed, Bath & Beyond before, so I stopped the store manager to ask. He said the company has been rolling them out in some of their bigger stores nationwide.

You have GOT to check your nearest store ’cause the selection blew me away — huge brands like L’Oreal, Maybelline, Revlon and Cover Girl. There were also random smaller brands which I’d never seen before, like these Ooh La La ($0.99 each) and Stripe Rite nail polishes ($2.99).

I saw some eye makeup removers that were new to me, too, like Klorane. I ended up leaving with a pack of Comodynes makeup remover towelettes.

I’m going back when I have more time to explore (and when I don’t have El Hub in tow). 🙂

Halloween Pet Parade

Here’s are a couple pics from last night’s Halloween pet parade. So cute! Tabs wasn’t in the mood to trick or treat, so he stayed home, which was probably a good thing because the parade was totes TEAM CANINE!

How ’bout this dinosaur dog costume?

After the parade, we went to dinner (decided against Cheesecake Factory). I had Southern Indian for the first time. I should have snapped pictures of the food but forgot.

We ordered a dosa, a huge, two-foot long rolled-up pancake-thing with potatoes and onions inside. Totally delish… Oh, and affordable, too. If you’re ever in Marin County and like spicy food, definitely check it out!

Hope you’re enjoying your Saturday so far. It’s still raining cats and dogs out here. I think we’re gonna rent a movie and order a pizza. What are you up to?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

omg! I had no idea they sold make-up at BB&B. I may just have to drag my mom and my sister there tomorrow. We are thinking of going to the Larkspur theater to see the new Angelina Jolie movie. I can definitely see us stopping there after the movie.

I am loving this rain. The creek by my mom’s house is filling up. 🙂 We are just hanging out watching movies and ordered out some italian goodies.

    Hi Indian Girl,

I keep thinking about that dosa… I’m craving it big time! 🙂 I love Indian food, so I’m really glad to have found this restaurant.

The dogs at the parade were so cute! I wish Tabs would let me dress him up and parade him around.

What did you do for Halloween?

    Hi Marisol,

Fun! Where do you guys order Italian food from?

I’ve seen the trailers for the new Angelina movie. Let me know if it’s good… and if you get anything good at BB&B! 🙂

Ok, so I’m definitely going to have to hit up Bed, Bath, and Beyond sometime. Who knew they had that much makeup!?

The Ooh la la shade on the left is really pretty. I wonder how well they work?

Hi Karen. What a huge cosmetics section! I would love to spend an afternoon exploring. The dogs look so cute in their cosmetics. My first try at the cat eyes makeup with my retro outfit was fun yesterday! It wasn’t fantastic at all but I got compliments. Thanks for your suggestion. 🙂 I will practise more!

Dosa is one of my all time favorite foods, although I was born in south India so I’m biased. You should try idli’s with sambar next time you go, also delicious. 🙂

Girl, I thought to go to BB&B this weekend because it is near the House of Old Navy and there’s a sale going on there. Now I have a reason to move my butt to that direction tomorrow. Those are tiny fluffy dogs, so cute! Did you get Tabs a costume?

    Hi Brittany,

It was totally random. The manager said that they’ll be rolling them out in the next few years so hopefully your nearby one will have it!

I have never used Oh La La, so I can’t comment on its sturdiness… this of course, gives me an excuse to go back to get it, LOL. There were a lot of colors and I couldn’t decide with El Hub bugging me to get out of there!

Nice! I hope you get some good deals at Old Navy. I didn’t end up getting Tabs a costume. When he went MIA last weekend I was too heartbroken to look for one because I wasn’t sure if he was going to come come.

Hi Karen, I thought you knew about Bed Bath & Beyond!
Not all stores have cosmetics aisle, only the bigger ones. But their price is cheap!! About the same price as Walmart, so way way cheaper than Ulta and CVS! And I always use the coupons for 20% off one item they’re sending by mail… most people in my apartment complex will throw the coupons out so I ended up picking them from the mailroom trash can, no kidding 😀

oh yes! my dad works for bed bath and beyond, and he told me that the stores were going to start carrying cosmetics. I’m actually going today, since I get a 60% discount hehe!

FUNNY STORY: I was vacationing in Chicago a little while back, and I was in a bed bath and beyond. I asked the saleswoman where the cosmetics department was, and she looked at me like i was crazy and said “Do you think you’re in target?” I laughed on the spot!
