Yay, another video 🙂 Never tried this foundation stick but I am a fan of the Bobbi Brown foundation stick and the Clinique Chubby Stick foundation. So I bet I’d like this one as well!

Still cant get on board with stick foundations, even though it looks lovely on you. I always have hygienic concerns.

Karen, I love this foundation, too! For all the reasons you said.

If I go outside in daylight, I have to wear a mineral sunscreen — I find that Paula’s Choice RESIST Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 works just fine under this foundation, without mattifying the finish. I can even apply Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer over the sunscreen, then apply the foundation, just allow time for things to set (apply sunscreen -> go get dressed -> apply primer -> style hair -> do makeup). I especially love this foundation for contouring/highlighting — I use Shell or Vanilla on most of my face, but use Alabaster under my eyes. Then I add just a bit of Alabaster over the Shell/Vanilla where I want highlighting, and a teeny-tiny bit of Almond under my cheekbones and anywhere else I want to contour, and blend. It blends so easily! It also works great with cream blushes (like Bite Multistix or the Make Up For Ever HD blushes) and cream highlighters, like the ones from BECCA. I do love the brush that Hourglass sells to go with this foundation — I think it applies the foundation perfectly, and I can even get into the corners near my eyes. I like to spray the brush with a bit of setting spray before going to work. I apply the foundation full coverage and never get a caked-on look. And I usually like a radiant-to-dewy finish, but the satin finish of this is flattering enough. I use one of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders to set it, which helps maintain that bit of a glow.

It’s actually difficult to find foundations that go on well over mineral sunscreens, so I mostly use BB/CC creams as my base rather than actual foundation. It’s nice to have an option this elegant!

The only other cream foundation I use is RCMA, and I think this Hourglass foundation is just as good, and easier to use. I tried the Cover Fx foundation a few years ago, but found it difficult to apply (but that could be because my makeup skills weren’t as good then!)

What makeup are you wearing in the final picture? It’s very nice.

Do you prime first? I’ve got some pore issues so I worry about this one!

I don’t know why, but when foundation comes in sticks I always expect something that will not work (sounds heavy, grease and not flexible) … I need to review this idea.

Karen, I love your videos! This foundation looks beautiful on you. I’m a little worried my skin is too oily for stick formulas, but I have heard such good things about the Hourglass formula!
