Have you heard of Saje Wellness? They’re kindasorta like the Canadian Aveda, and all of their products, which are cruelty-free, are made using plant-based essential oil blends, with lots of products for your body and your home.
I walked into their new store in Corte Madera the other day and was like, WHOA! — what’s happening over there by that plant wall?
These geometric gems are scent diffusers. You fill ’em with water, add a few drops of essential oil to evoke the mood you want to set (calming, energizing, etc.), and the fragrant mist fills your space.
The store manager (hi, Alexis!) said that the brand started when one of the founders got into a car accident and wanted to find a natural way to manage his pain. The first product they launched (also their bestselling item) is a stress relief essential oil blend called Peppermint Halo Cooling and Soothing Blend for the Head.
When Alexis put a little on the back of my neck and my shoulders, the first thing I noticed was the fresh minty scent. It was definitely there but wasn’t overwhelming (I didn’t feel like I was drowning in a sea of mint!). Within a minute, I felt a gentle tingle on my skin, and my neck and shoulders slowly relaxing.
Ah…
I usually hold most of my tension up there, but my trapezoids, shoulders and neck stayed tingly and loose-y-goose-y for 45 minutes. *trying to figure out a way to wrap my entire body in the stuff all day long, haha!*
A travel-sized 0.34-oz. bottle of Peppermint Halo $26.95.
The store also carries many other natural products made from their family of essential oils, like bath soaps, household cleaning supplies, body lotions and baby products.
If you’re into natural/green beauty, check them out online, or visit one of their stores. In the U.S., they have them in California, New York and New Jersey.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I love Aveda so I’m sure I would love this brand too. I can’t resist the fresh and plant-y smells!
Karen says
Me neither, Rachel! I think you’d have a blast smelling everything in the store. I know I did. 🙂
Lily says
Thanks Karen. I’ve been looking for a diffuser and those are lovely.
Karen says
You’re welcome, Lily! What I like about them (besides the beautiful design) is the mist. It’s very fine. If I could I’d have one in every room. 🙂
Hope you’re doing well and having a great day so far.

Thanks for highlighting Saje Karen. I’m trying really hard to switch to as many green and clean products as I can and ways to invite more relaxation into my life.
Karen says
You’re welcome, Mary Ann! I’m going back for that peppermint oil and some home cleaning supplies (and maybe a diffuser, LOL!). If I find anything good I’ll most certainly let you know. 🙂
Mary Ann says
Oh please do, especially if you find some other nice smelling oils! Love aromatherapy!

The peppermint halo also comes in a pen which is a Amazeballs for migraines and headaches!! The pen like tip presses into your scalp and the magic happens! Being Canadian, I am so happy Sage has opened in your areas! I have been a customer for many years. The room sprays are also great…I randomly spray my office and it clears the air and re-focuses me on my work. Enjoy

Please use essential oils where Tabs won’t be walking around, some essential oils are toxic to cats, especially when used in diffusers.

They’re a Canadian brand from Vancouver! I love Saje and have 4 of their diffusers in my house (lucky enough to live in a medium-sized space). Use them everyday! The Boy loves them too cuz it helps with his dry throat and skin and it’s great for baby since it purifies the air. I turned my mom and all my aunts onto the brand too. Haha!

Diffusers seem to be all the rage these days. I’d have them in every room but the Hubs hates air fresheners (the plug in kind and even Febreeze) because they bother his sinuses. It’s been quite a debate lately. 🙂
Karen says
But how does he feel about candles though? You could always do Bath & Body Works candles.
Kim says
I thought I once caught him, out of the corner of my eye, hovering over one with a fire extinguisher. 😉 Kidding – he does call them a fire hazard but he’s more tolerant of the smell. I still use the plug ins, but just dial down the scent to the minimum. I tone down the smell and he tones down the complaining. We have to compromise to have a nice smelling house. 🙂

Ooh, you know what else might work for you guys? A reed diffuser. I’ve had a few and they work really well, and they’re pretty too!
