Bath and Body Works wants us to ring in the holidays with pretty lips, courtesy of their new line of lipglosses, Liplicious. Starring more than thirty scented and flavored glosses, moisturizing lip colors, scrubs and lip gloss tubes all for an economical $7-8 apiece. The glosses and lip colors are double-sided, and after you throw in the buy two, get one free deal available on their website, that knocks the final price of these products down to less than $5.50 each ($2.25 per side on the double-sided ones)! HUGE BARGAIN POTENTIAL!
I tested three of the double-sided glosses: Platinum Glow/Gold Dust, Brown Sugar/Dulce de Leche and Mango/Peach.
Platinum Glow/Gold Dust
The Platinum Glow/Gold Dust wand shimmers brightly. Both gloss ends of this wand are paired with brush applicators. I can see myself wearing these two colors separately or layered on top of lipsticks.
Platinum Glow’s vanilla scent and flavor matches its shimmery white color and semi-transparency, whereas Gold Dust smells and tastes like caramel and leaves lips with a golden shimmer and peachy-brown tint.
The gloss itself feels thick on the lips, but not sticky, and, like most glosses, requires frequent application.
I think B&BW did a good job with the consistency of the glitter they poured into these glosses. It doesn’t feel gritty, and gritty glitter in lip products is one of my pet peeves.

Brown Sugar/Dulce de Leche
Dulce de Leche
Both of the glosses in the Brown Sugar/Dulce de Leche wand are lip plumping. As you might expect, Brown Sugar has a brown sugar scent and flavor (duh), and Dulce de Leche smells and tastes like caramel, yum! I dig Brown Sugar’s cool and shimmery light pink and Dulce de Leche’s dark brown with golden shimmer. Both ends come with doe foot applicators.
The Lip Plumping formula feels different than the gloss formula from Platinum Glow/Gold Dust. It’s stickier and thicker and leaves a tingly feeling on my lips like other lip plumping formulas do. Of the three combo products I tried, this is the one with the most pigmentation.
I should say that I don’t usually like lip plumping glosses because of that stinging/tingly feeling, and I didn’t really notice a visible difference in the plumpness of my lips after using either of these shades.
I didn’t really like these on me. Brown Sugar looks too frosty and Dulche de Leche seems a touch too orange for my skin tone. This wand was my least favorite of the bunch.

Now, on to my favorite! These glosses contain the plain gloss formula, not the lip plumper (huzzah!). I like the subtle fruity scents and flavors of both the peach and the mango sides. The peach is a warm, shimmery peach-pink coral; the mango a shimmery red with flecks of gold. Like the Platinum/Gold Dust duo, these shades are thick without feeling sticky on the lips. I checked the Bath and Body Works website for availability, and this one is listed as sold out online. If you’re interested, you may want to call or visit your nearby Bath and Body Works store.

One for You, One for Me
One of the holiday shopping tenets I often subscribe to is the “one for you, one for me” policy. With the economy being what it is, I’m not sure if it’ll apply this year, but Bath and Body Works definitely has the right idea this year as far as the pricing of these items.
The entire Liplicious collection is on sale on the Bath and Body Works website. The buy two, get one free offer applies to mix ‘n match items, too. Considering the size of the collection, that means having plenty of options. Don’t you love a good deal?
How’s your day going? I’m all about the TGIF today… Got any good movie recommendations for me? I’m really in the mood for a movie and popcorn tonight.
