Where my party girls at? If you’re booked with back-to-back holiday fetes this year, freshen up your look between bashes with the Sonia Kashuk Shimmer and Shine Purse Brush Set ($13).
The sparkly silver clutch contains four mini versions of classic Sonia brushes — a powder blush/brush, a blending brush, a small eyeshadow brush and a wee little brush for concealer.

The brush heads don’t feel as dense as the ones on SK’s regular brushes, but they DO feel surprisingly soft. Because they aren’t as dense as their bigger sisters, they might not apply color as precisely, but, of course, being as small as they are with little lightweight handles also means they won’t weigh down your purse.
PRICE: $13 (currently on sale for $10.99)
AVAILABILITY: At Target stores and target.com

These are soft but the other set (the one with the purse) — oy. I’ll give you the skinny on that soon.
cannot wait!
i still need a present for my best friend and i was thinking of an SK brush set!
do you think this could be a decent starter set of brushes for someone just starting out with makeup? (thinking about getting this for a friend)

I gotta ask, because maybe I’m missing something here… but who takes makeup brushes to parties?!! LOL I’ve been known to have 900 lippies in a handbag, maybe some powder and some eyeliner, but I think I draw the line at dragging brushes along.
Maybe to take to work for touch-ups if you’re leaving straight from work to something?
Wow, that’s shiny. Every time I go to Target, I stare at the Sonia Kashuk brushes, but I have yet to buy any. They look really high-quality and good for the price, though. What’s my excuse?

I really love this set. She also has a full size set called dripping with diamonds that also comes with a clutch. It is $19.99
I passed on these because they didn’t look soft. But now I may have to get them.

I actually really like the SK brushes! I just bought the ones with the wooden handle (that come with the cork-covered clutch), and they’re surprisingly good. It came with these 4, a bigger powder brush, and a flat concealer brush. The tiny brush from this set is really great for smudging eyeliner or putting shadow on the lower lash line… stiff, but not scratchy.
This set is super-cute. Of course, I usually go all day without remembering to look in the mirror (except to check my teeth after a snack), so touching up my make-up would never occur to me. A bit scary, isn’t it?
I bought this set for a Christmas gift for my makeup obsessed little cousin. Shes been using sponges and qtips so I figured it was time to graduate to brushes and not wanting to spend a gazillion brushes I turned to Sonia Kasuk as a good middle of the road set. Hope she likes them!
