Oh, OK… I get it.
I was wondering why Tarte decorated their new Kiss & Blush Cream Cheek & Lip Palette with sand dollars, since I usually associate those with summer and beaches, and the palette is out for fall, but check it: when you open the palette, the six pans are arranged in a star shape, like the shape in the center of a sand dollar.
See it?
Kinda cute, right?
The five outer pans are creams that you can wear on your lips and cheeks, and the smaller pan in the middle is an opalescent highlighter (also a cream) — all built around the theme of a natural, everyday look, which is another unusual move for Tarte, since fall is typically a time, at least in makeup marketing, for more serious, full-on makeup.
The colors are designed to play well with all skin tones, and the creamy formula, which is easy to blend on top of foundation or bare skin, is mega moisturizing (it contains vitamins C and E).
Speaking of sand dollars, I have a few of them that I’ve found over the years. Have you ever found a sand dollar at the beach?

Yes I’ve found sand dollars. I have one on my desk now. 🙂 This is a lovely palette, is Tarte worth the price Karen?
Karen says
Hi Sarah,
Yes, if you wear cream blushes daily! You get a lot of shades here and they also double as lip colors. 🙂
Kiss & Make-up says
I have no idea what a sand dollar is O_o *starts googling*

They’re the design on the top of the palette. 🙂
Kiss & Make-up says
Yeah 🙂 Another thing learned! Sand dollars. Heh.

I have been considering getting either this palette or the cream blush/lip from Stila it is avaible in 2 shade selections. Anyone have any feedback about them or any of the three

Cute!

I like your sand dollar association, Karen! 🙂 But it’s also because it’s part of their rainforest of the sea collection, I believe! which should also make it a Sephora exclusive, while ulta sticks with its double duty line.
it’s so confusing to me when brands have completely different sets of merchandise across two or three different retailers! it boggles my mind-organization! 🙂

It definitely seems like a good value for people who love cream blushes but, I have to agree with you that the sand dollar theme (while very cute) has a distinctive summer vibe.
