Sweet Jeebus this limited edition collection is hot. The Lola line always makes me want to put on some pearls, a pair of black patent high heels, a faux leopard fur coat and satin elbow length gloves…and when I’m rockin’ this makeup I’d wear that outfit to Safeway to buy some bananas. Seriously.
Stay tuned for the reviews on both the Immaculate Complexion and Unforgettably Lola collections in the next few weeks!
Whatever Lola Wants…

Lola Gets…

And little man…

Little Lola wants you.

CRANKY! The Internets are out once again at our house. Sigh. Can I just say that there was *much* improv used to get this post up? I feel like I’m blogging using two sticks and a hand crank radio.
But it’s Thursday and ya can’t beat that. Tomorrow I’m getting highlights done because my roots are showing something fierce. Oh, and there’s the hot date with the Comcast repair man at 3:00, who visits our house so much that I feel like I should sit him down to tea and feed him some cucumber sandwiches and earl grey. I’m not bitter!
Have a great Thursday and keep on truckin’!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

WOW! How do you get all the cool stuff, seriously? That blue pot of something rather… I want!
September 13th, 2007 at 10:49 am
It’s like eyeliner/gel base, much like Fluidline. I LOVE!
And girl, you know what they say. Whatever Lola wants…Lola gets.
How’s your day so far? Are you in class?
September 13th, 2007 at 11:06 am
It looks gorgeous! But I love jewel tones…
It’s all right - woke up FAR too early (7). I’m in class now… only 40 more minutes, yay!
How are you doing? What’s on the K-Agenda today?
September 13th, 2007 at 12:48 pm
yeah, at 7:00 I think I was in REM sleep!
I’m slowly but surely getting more comfortable with color. The blue did a lot for my soul when I first saw it, too. I think I’m gonna try it as a base for Club shadow! Any other pairing suggestions?
Today I’m talking a mess of product shots! El Hub came home the other day with a random tri-pod so I’m going to test it out, woo hoo!
September 13th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
I never would have thought to use it as a base for Club - my natural instinct would be to go for bold blues like Deep Truth, Freshwater… maybe toss in some purples like Stars ‘n Rockets or Contrast. Even greens or teals, but Club is like, not on my radar.
Ohh, product shots - new, old? It took me far too long to take shots of all my MAC makeup. Have fun!
September 13th, 2007 at 4:06 pm
NEW ONES! The only thing about the tripod is that it’s kinda short, so I can’t really use it for FOTD’s (unless I squat, ha ha ha), plus I don’t have a remote for the camera. Whatevs, he got it for free so and I’m not one to turn down equipment! I’m starting to really enjoy taking product shots…weird, I know.
Club is a weird one cause it shows up so differently on everybody. On me it’s practically with slight flashes of green …it looks like a peacock feather.
Blues still scare me but I’m liking them more and more every day!
September 13th, 2007 at 4:31 pm
Product shots were really fun at first, but for me, they get to be tedious, but probably because I do them more out of “need” than just the random desire to! When do I get to see these lovely shots?!
I don’t really remember what Club looks like on me, just that I never reach for it. I don’t have any hate for it… I don’t think!
Oh, man, I can’t wait for a blue FOTD from you!
September 13th, 2007 at 4:39 pm
CLUB! It’s one of those cult faves like Vex. Either you *love* it or *hate* it. It’s that weird sort of brown/sort of blue/sort of green color that actually looks murky gray in the pan. I got it last year from the Smoky Eye Holiday 2006 set and I wore it everyday for a month and a half.
Speaking of holiday…I wonder what is in store of the MAC releases. I promised myself I wouldn’t go buckwildcrazy this year. We’ll see!
And a blue FOTD, omg, that’ll be the day. Can you recommend some good beginner blues? Something that’s clumsy-friendly please, lolol!
September 13th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
omg karen - this collection is soooo gorgeous. have fun playing with it!
September 13th, 2007 at 8:30 pm
hi makeuplovesme! i can’t wait to dig into that palette! *drools* stay tuned for more pics and reviews. =)
September 13th, 2007 at 9:11 pm
what are in those pots? i read you said there were gel eyeliners/base but why 3 of the same colors? or are the different, whats in the last pot? looks like cream maybe?
September 13th, 2007 at 9:37 pm
Hi Karen,
That last pot is Refine Eye, which is a Mousse Eye Base/Primer. And aren’t you Nancy Drew with you astute color observations!
Two of those pots are the shade TIKI and one is SUMATRA. I had to throw the extra pot in there to make the photo composition even, blah blah blah.
I just realized that looking at that picture makes me hungry, like how I get hungry for chocolate whenever I see advertisements for Dream Matte Mousse.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back soon. =)

September 13th, 2007 at 10:39 pm
hellooooo!!!! amazing cosmetics..i’ve never heard of lola. can’t wait for your reviews!
September 13th, 2007 at 11:07 pm
Hi Charlene!
Pretty, huh? I’m such a sucker for packaging
What are your favorite brands? I pretty much love all makeup, ha ha ha!
September 14th, 2007 at 9:13 am
And a blue FOTD, omg, that’ll be the day. Can you recommend some good beginner blues? Something that’s clumsy-friendly please, lolol!
I love Vex, haha! Oh, the holiday stuff, WOW, there is SO MUCH STUFF coming out, seriously. Watch out!
Hmm… when we go to the PRO store, maybe Sky Blue? It’s a PRO color, but very light blue. It’s not so in-your-face like Freshwater, Deep Truth, and company are. Otherwise I’d recommend maybe going teal first, just because MAC doesn’t offer very many subtler blues! I think Plumage might be a matte dark blue that you could ease into a smokey eye, though.
September 14th, 2007 at 1:00 pm
OHHHH…teal! Maybe that’s a better idea. I read in Allure that teal is one of “the” looks for fall.
I am already making my Pro list up and I plan on stickin’ to it (we’ll see).
September 14th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
Never heard of Lola but the stuff looks nice. Might have to check it out
September 14th, 2007 at 3:12 pm
Hi Karen,
Heidi and I don’t appreciate you making fun of us. You don’t know the whole story. Lauren is the one who instigates everything. She’s the evil one! Not me. I love — whatshername? — Heidi, very much. We’re both totally in love, and we’re getting married as soon as Heidi gets her breasts enlarged a little more.
At any rate, thanks for watching The Hills. OMG you should get an iPhone because they’re so kewl!
Brody sux!
XOXOXO,
Spencer Pratt

Love love love Lola but didn’t know about these palettes! Palettes save my life when travelling! Thanks for the tip! Ciao bellas!
September 14th, 2007 at 3:30 pm
Hello! Again! I think I’m going to fall for the rectangular palette. Man, I need a business trip to a big beauty town!
September 14th, 2007 at 3:35 pm
wow! the eyeshadow palette is gorgeous!
September 14th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
Well, if it’s in Allure… I buy it! Ohh, I can’t wait to see your list. Are you going to Macy’s Passport next week?
September 14th, 2007 at 4:48 pm
Hi Amanda,
Yeah, you can check Lola out online on Sephora’s Web site, or at Sephora stores. I’m like your Lola pusher, LOL!
I can’t wait to get my hands on more of it, there’s lipgloss, lipstick, and many other realms to conquer.
September 14th, 2007 at 4:59 pm
Dear Spencer Pratt,
Please do us all a favor and put down those protein shakes you keep drinking! The jig is up! We all know that you couldn’t stand two seconds of an ass-whooping. Even I could kick your sorry ass, and I’d do it three inch heels, too.
kisses,
Karen
P.S. Yeah, I agree…Brody does suck. What that boy needs is a job or a year in a third world country.
September 14th, 2007 at 5:02 pm
Hey Molly,
The palette’s really pretty on the outside too, with a delicate velvet pattern and a rhinestone button that closes the clutch. It looks like a cute lil purse. I will be doing swatches soon so stay tuned!
And I agree…palettes totally save your life if you travel a lot!
September 14th, 2007 at 5:03 pm
Hi Joyce!
Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, the cuteness totally sucked me in. Are you a palette kinda girl? Can you recommend any good ones?
September 14th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
Christine,
Hey girl, sorry I haven’t written back … my date (the comcast guy) still hasn’t arrived so my internet connection is still like a pumpkin waiting to be turned into a carriage. *Sigh* And now my neighbor’s wireless signal is intermittant so it’s been quite an interesting day.
And hell yeah I’m going to Passport. (I’ve had it on my calendar for about two months!) Looks like we get to hang earlier than we thought.
P.S. Last night I stayed up really late looking at SHOES!
September 14th, 2007 at 5:11 pm
No worries, but really, how can he keep such a HOT DATE waiting?!
What days are you going? Heather sent me an email earlier, but yeah, let me know! I think right now I’m set to go for Thursday.
Haha, I think I do that 3 nights out of the week
September 14th, 2007 at 5:12 pm
Oh yeah, and if Heather hasn’t contacted you, email her about the Gala evening!
September 14th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Oh yeah, girl, it’s all worked out. Thanks for looking out for me though!
September 14th, 2007 at 5:28 pm
Are you going for all days? Let me know so we can meet up
September 14th, 2007 at 8:55 pm

September 15th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
I am going on Wednesday. I have a birthday present for you (sorry, hun, it’s not our 615 coat!) but you can’t get it till we go to the Pro Store!
September 15th, 2007 at 2:02 pm
Hey Melissa,
Lola-go-lightly looks SO CUTE!!!! I want! Do you use it often, and do all the colors work for you?
