OK, I’ll come clean (haha! Get it?). I spend an inordinate amount of time in my shower because 1) nobody asks me questions while I’m in there, 2) nobody bites my ankles, 3) nobody tugs at my hair, tries to get on my lap, or begs for food (I’m talking to you, Tabs). It’s my safe place, so if it seems like I spend more time showering than a normal woman should, it’s BECAUSE I AM HIDING. 🙂
A couple things I’m currently using in the pursuit of covert cleanliness…
H2O+ Beauty Coconut Verbena Body Wash and Body Butter Body Duo ($34 for both)
I’m gonna call it. This will be a summer 2018 “must have.” Between the foamy bath gel (bubbly nirvana) and the moisturizing body butter (I’ve got lizard skin and use it twice/day — once in the morning and again at night), my skin smells like I just teleported here from the Grand Hyatt in Poipu on Kauai.
Lemony without venturing into Pledge territory, and coco-nutty without smelling like a corny celebrity perfume. It’s hard to find something that smells tropical without the eau de sunscreen notes, a la Bobbi Brown Beach, and this hits the spot. Plus, the backs of your knees won’t feel sticky afterwards (totally crucial).
They’re also a good deal if you buy them together in the duo. $34 for a 12.2-oz. bottle of the Body Wash and an 8-oz. bottle of Body Butter ($40 purchased separately).
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5 out of 5 hearts.
Gillette Venus Simply 3 razors ($5.99 for four)
Imagine shaving your lady bits with a plastic butter knife from a children’s birthday party.
Yup, these left me with a smattering of ingrown hairs on my bikini line. BOO. Legs and underarms are passable and decently smooth, but you’ll have to shave again in a day or two, depending on the severity of your Sasquatch situation. $5.99 for a pack of four.
❤️❤️ 2 out of 5 hearts.

Razors are such a pain! I’ll make sure not to pick these up LOL

LOL! Disposables would never fly with me. I’m way too hairy for that and I got no time for that ingrown hair business!

I buy the men’s razors! It may be all in my head but I think they’re better! I’ll check out the h20 I love the tropical scents but hate when they just smell like you’ve smothered yourself in suntan lotion and the bath & body works gives me a mega headache!

I second Jens comment above: Buy the mens razors. They are much better and much cheaper than the womens version.

Another vote for men’s razors. Much sharper and less expensive. Dear Hubs subscribes to Dollar Shave Club where he get’s new razors every month. Since he alternates between an electric razor and a standard one, he always has them left over. I asked if I could use on once and have been using up his extras since.

I usually use the Gillette Venus Sensitive or Embrace Sensitive. I finding gets a pretty good shave without giving me razor burn, although I only use it on legs and underarms! Most of the Venus line works for me but I’ve had similar experiences as you with the Simply Venus razors so I avoid those. I’ll also sometimes use men’s razors.

Disposables never work for me. Tried men’s razors and liked them, but now I use Billie razors and I love them. I feel like I definitely get a closer shave with Billie, no in-growns, the price is right (way cheaper than Venus razors I used to buy), and they deliver them to your door – it’s basically perfect (assuming any razor can be perfect).

I’m with the girls above on the men’s razors. I use one of the Hubs’ old Mach something. He has a newer version and they take the same blades, so I steal his refill blades, too. 🙂
