Falling for Givenchy Le Prisme Eyeshadow Quartet in Khaki Egerie

August 13th, 2010 by Karen 24 Comments

givenchy le prisme eyeshadow quartet review

After I finished freaking out over the cost of the new Givenchy Le Prisme Eyeshadow Quartet in Khaki Egerie ($56), I stepped back from the mirror and thought, “Now THAT’s what I’m talking about.”

I swear these colors make my eyes glow!

Givenchy just added it and five other quads to their permanent line, each promising highly pigmented, enduring colors, and if Khaki Egerie’s any indication of what the other quads have to offer, all of them probably warrant closer inspection.

The major selling point for me — besides the rich pigmentation and sumptuous shimmer — has to be the near absence of fallout. It’s minimal (just a tiny spec or two beneath my lower lash line and cheeks)… The soft, finely milled powders adhere to my lids without creasing or settling into my wrinkles fine lines, and they blend CRAZY good, too.

Although $56 isn’t unusual for a Givenchy quad, it still hurts. Egerie or one of her sisters might be prime shopping cart candidates for an upcoming Sephora Friends & Family sale, but her regular price keeps me from falling head over heels in love. Available at Sephora stores and online at sephora.com. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Belated TGIF. 🙂 What are you up to today? My in-laws arrived late last night from Hawaii, and they’re still getting settled, so I’m running a little behind. They’ll be staying with us for a couple weeks, just hanging out and keeping us company. Tabs, whom they hadn’t met before, is showing them around the neighborhood right now…

Pretty… but too pricey! I could buy the UD Naked palette for that price which has more shadows (different colors of course) and STILL have money left over.

Maybe I’m too into bargains though.

I have these same colors in a quad by Jane cosmetics. Sure it’s not as luxe as the Givenchy one but it’s still pretty. Kymberlee I agree w/ u girl, go get that UD Naked palette!

OOh the quad is very pretty!! Very pricey too, though… they look like they have a nice finish, but possibly something that Maybelline already has?

This is random but I wanted to ask! I’m moving to Seattle soon– do you know of any cosmetics companies based in Seattle? I know Benefit but that’s about all I can find! Figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask 😉

    Have a nice weekend!!

Those colors look awesome on your skintone Karen! I love green eyeshadows, and the shimmer looks amazing… but $56 in this economy, they must be amazing! LOL. Do you know if they have any taupes in the line up? *drools*
