My makeup mantra this summer: all roads lead to surfer chicks and Las Vegas showgirls.
But there’s a problem with this — and you might not think it would be an issue, but it is! It’s hard to find beachy nude glosses that I can actually see on my lips.
They’re either so milky and opaque that I look like a third-tier backup dancer in a Nicki Minaj video, or so completely sheer that I look like I just gave up and used that crusty jar of Carmex that’s been sitting at the bottom of my bag since the mid-2000s.
I’m looking for that perfect blend of laid back beach babe, rhinestones, feather boas and glam, and I think I found it over at Bobbi Brown.
The four squeeze Tube Tints ($19 each) in Nude Beach, Bobbi’s summer 2013 collection, are casual enough to wear with my favorite bikini, and pigmented enough to see on my lips.
I think I could wear any of these shiny shades — Bronzed Pink, Naked, Pink Cloud or Air Kiss — on a black-tie date with El Hub, no problem (just add smokey eyes).
Formula-wise, they remind me of less sticky, slightly more moisturizing MAC Lipglasses. With a faint hint of om-nommy vanilla, they even taste a little like ’em, too, but Bobbi did keep them unscented.

We’re talkin’ all kinds of yum. Chipotle dressing, tortilla chip strips, black beans, jicama, pumpkin seeds (yeah, that’s right), tomatoes, romaine lettuce and cheddar cheese, and I also add avocado and garlic chili lime shrimp to mine.
YUM!
Whenever I order it, the gals at the register nod at me like, yeah, you know what’s up. 🙂
Thing is, there’s really no ladylike way to eat it on account of how delicious it is. I feel compelled to inhale it, lick the bowl and scrape out every shred of cheese.

Omg, that salad! Yum! It has advocado and I’m obsessed with it ^^. I actually never noticed these beach tubes, they are completely new to me. I love the pink one tho, it’s pretty and they look quite effortless ^^.

The Bronzed looks super pretty. Would be perfect to wear to the beach or for a night date on a warm summer night.

Those lip tints are definitely winners on you. I grabbed a couple of Becca beach tints and had the same issue with them not really showing up on my lips (for the 20 minutes that they last there!). Looks like Bobbi’s not making the same mistake. 🙂
That salad looks delish, btw. Any plate that’s lined with avocado has to be good. 🙂
And, back to lips, I got a sample of 3 YSL Rouge Volupté Shines with my last Sephora order and I’m getting good wear time from them. They’re not really packed with pigment (at least the 3 I got) but they pretty long-lasting.
