Play It Tropicool and Go Back to the Fuchsia With Salon Perfect Neon Pop! Summer 2016

Salon Perfect Neon POP!
Cool toned neons are my jam. (Left to Right): Honeydew Honey Don’t, Mer-Made of Money, Purple Pop!, Violets Are Blue

Do you remember when I used to paint my nails all the time?

Yeah, me neither. I miss it. I miss having the free time to sit down, manicure, buff, base, color and top coat my nails on the regular.

There just isn’t enough time, and that’s okay. I embrace the people and things that have taken the place of those at-home manicures, and it just means that the opportunities I do have to actually polish my nails are that much more special.

Queue the Salon Perfect Summer 2016 Neon Pop! Collection. These 12 sweet and sour shades (eight shown below) will get you ready for your next afternoon by the pool. At only $3.98 a Pop! (see what I did there?), you can collect ’em all. The challenge will be deciding which one you want to wear first. (Or maybe that’s just me, because I’m like “YAS! Finally, free time to paint my nails!”)

(L-R): Salon Perfect Crystal Clear and Sugar Cube

I love the Neon Pop! line’s versatility. A lot of the neon polishes I’ve tried are streaky and consistently dry down to a matte finish that doesn’t last long. They’re also usually only available in warm tones. But Salon Perfect seems to have all that sorted out.

Here are pics of eight Neon Pop! shades alongside their trusty companions — a bottle of Crystal Clear top coat and a white shade called Sugar Cube. To really make the neon-ness of these Pop! shades jump off your nails, apply them atop a white polish, in lieu of a traditional base coat (same idea works for colorful eyeshadows), and then to keep them from chipping too soon or from drying down matte, add a sturdy top coat.

My personal favorite neons (and nail polishes in general) are cool toned, which is why I like the Neon Pop! greens, blues and purples. I’ve been all about calypso teal Mer-Made of Money, which goes five full days for me with a base and top coat before chipping. That’s unheard of for a neon!

I may not be into pink polish myself, but I bet a lot of neon polish lovers will love these four. There’s deep purple tinged Back to the Fuchsia, orangey pink Let’s Not Coral and Tropicool Punch, and classic (think Essie Pink Parka) Wrapped Around My Pink-y.

I’ve been wearing these beauties jumbled in a haphazard order on each of my 10 fingers (and toes!) without a top coat, because I like their natural satin finish, even if they do end up chipping sooner than I’d like.

Are you ready for summer? You’re really not entirely ready until you get a few of these neons in your (probably) burgeoning polish collection, because why not? Apply your sunscreen, paint your nails hot pink, and get out by the pool, girlfriend! You do you! And if someone offers you a margarita while you’re at it? Just go for it…because nothing looks better while holding a margarita than freshly polished neon nails. 🙂

What’s your favorite neon nail color?

I would go with a green or yellow I think, but neons are just not my kind of color. And I think a cocktail goes with any kind of nails. It is a cocktail after all!

I don’t wear anything I classify as neon but I like your pinks and corals. They have a satin finish? It looks almost like a stain from here. I must say it’s lovely.

Pretty neon polish for a great price! Last year I brought two of the Salon Perfect neon nail polishes Haute Pink which is a bright dark coral and a really bright neon pink.My tan golden complexion looks good in corals, reds and pinks. I like blues and greens but they don’t look so good on me. I love to wear bright colors on my toe nails. Living in Florida my toes are out a lot and these colors look great with my sandals.I always use a base coat and top coat.I agree this formula lasts a long time.

These look great! I love neons. Neon pink and corals are my favorites, but they’re all fun to wear.

More Nail polish that I don’t need to buy. But just to be sure, I’ll look these up next time I’m at Wally World (read: Walmart) because the price tag is great & the formula sounds promising. The top pic of your skittles mani is really cute 🙂

I love your creativity – those colors are great! A friend of mind has the Tropicool Punch and she let me borrow it and I fell in love with it. I have gone to 3 different Wal-Marts and they are out (I found the Salon Perfect polishes, but the 532 Tropicool Punch is NEVER in stock). I even got online to order some but it’s not available for order OR pickup (it says Out of Stock). I got on the Salon Perfect website and of course, you can’t buy it directly from them – apparently it’s ONLY for sale at Wal-Mart. Salon Perfect and Wal-Mart both still have it on their website as part of their Neon Pop collection, however it just isn’t available anywhere. I have even tried eBay. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can get my hands on some? From what I understand, it was only “released” in April 2016 – would they just stop making it this soon??? I have tried so many polishes, looking for ANYTHING similar, but NOTHING comes close. It has a red-pink tint with even a slight teasy-hint of orange – and in the sunlight, it’s the most beautiful color – I’ve never seen anything like it. I would even settle for something that LOOKS like it but I have tried so many. They might look similar in the bottle but once on the nail and in the light – no dice!

Thanks for any help you could possibly provide,

    Jennifer 🙂
