2010 beauty trends?

We hear ’em every year — wait, no, every season! — a new batch of makeup and beauty trends. Which ones will go mainstream, and which ones won’t? Everyone loves playing prognosticator every once in a while, right? Err, at least I sure do. 🙂

Oh, if I missed a trend that you expect us to see a lot next year, do tell. Let me know in the comments.

Here in my country fake tan is very popular, girls usually prefer to have fake tan than wear makeup….on the second place will be the nail art

I think all of these trends are likely to do well. One trend I wish wouldn’t do so well is the tanned look. I used to be very into the fake bake look and all the dangerous ways to get it. I wish a persons natural skin color would catch on trend here in the US.

Oh gosh, I hope that nail art doesn’t become that big. I’ve seen too many ugly nail designs…if only I could forget!!

I voted for Eco-Beauty. I think as everyone becomes more conscious of the chemicals in makeup and hair products, they will start to seek out eco-friendly alternatives. I have already started doing this myself! I now use a very simple shampoo and conditioner — and I used to be the girl that would spend a fortune on the fancy stuff.

They say the fake tan is so 2009, but I don’t see them going away anytime soon. And why should they? When done right, they’re hot.

And I have a feeling fuller, thicker brows are here to stay, which I think is a good thing. One step closer to natural beauty being universally accepted.

I think fake tans are going to be in, with the new idea that tanning beds should be for those only over 18.

I work in cosmetics. Everyday I have more people asking me about Eco friendly products or products with the purest ingredients. I think this is why mineral makeup is so huge right now. I think that it is evolving and will eventually have the purest products and purest way of making them with the best coverage.

I am going to say it is going to be a toss up with nail art and eco beauty. Nail art is fun and relatively easy to achieve and with so much emphasis on sustainability, eco beauty is going get even bigger. Classic red lip is classic.

Ugh, I hope fake tans go away… not that I want people to start flocking to the tanning booths or anything, I wish they could just embrace their natural skin tones! Fake tans almost always look tacky, in my opinion, and tanning booths just aren’t worth the damage they cause skin. That being said, I’m sure red lips will stick around, and eco-beauty will probably get even more popular.
I’ve never heard of mood-enhancing beauty products, but they sound fun. Off to google!

My dad has skin cancer, so I’m pretty much anti-tan in general, but it also almost always looks horrible…

I hope those bunny ears (LV, I think?) never truly take off. NY Mag did a funny video test driving them in the real world…

MOOD enhancing products? Where can I get those??

You mean different than mood-lipsticks and such, right? You don’t mean the ones that change colors with your body heat/chemicals, right?

Because if there’s products designed to make you feel better (and I don’t just mean pretty packaging) then point me the way!!

Can you imagine? Would insurance cover makeup that’s as good as Prozac? Tee hee!!!
