Vegas Jackpot, Kinda

Published in: Just For Fun

It appears I won’t be quitting my day job any time soon, ha! But winning a whopping $25 is better than nothing (that’s one Chanel Glossimer). I’m headed back home tonight, so tomorrow I’ll put up a post of my Barney’s New York in Vegas adventure. Hope you’re having a great weekend so far!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    Woo-hoo! $25 richer, we’ll take it! :) Congrats!

  2. Karen says:

Thanks, Glosslizard! I still have a few more hours to win some big bucks! We’ll see what lady luck has in store for me. :) Doing anything fun this fine Sunday?

  3. Glosslizard says:

Nah, just chillin’! Enjoying a lazy Sunday and recovering from a very strenuous (but VERY enjoyable) aikido seminar yesterday! I’m sore, but happy! I’m channelling good wishes your way and hoping you win a big one in time to spend it all at that Vegas Sephora! :D

  4. Mrs. Lynne says:

Better than nothing! That’s right girl! :)

  5. Karen says:

    Hi Glosslizard,

Your uber-workout sounds like fun. I love those workouts where you feel sore (in a good way) the next day.

So, I didn’t end up winning the big money, but that’s okay.

    Hi Mrs. Lynne,

Wanna know something funny? The picture above was taken at the California hotel. The woman in the green shirt next to me was there in the same chair up until I had to leave for the airport at 6:15 LOLOL!

Also, I had some local food today for the first time since July – spam musubi and some mac salad from this place in the hotel that serves local style food. I swear that hotel’s is the closest thing to being in Hawaii on this side of the Pacific.

  7. Ashley Samantha says:

That’s so funny! I too won $25 @ the casino (Hard Rock Casino Biloxi) this weekend celebrating my 21st — and it was on Wheel of Fortune!
And I too planned on spending it on makeup…
Glad to see you had fun!

  8. Lilan says:

Sounds like you had a fine time in Vegas-land! Can’t wait to hear about Barneys! I only wished my weekend was as eventful… :)

  9. Jaclyn says:

karen, i love the wheel of fortune slots, but unfortunately vegas doesn’t like me because the 3 times I have been there, I have lost money and a considerable amount the last time I was there, Nov. ’07. I curse Vegas, but at the same time LOVE IT. it’s a love/hate relationship we have. LOL.

What about you, are you a big gambler when you go to Vegas?

$25 is way better than nothing, i just wished I knew how to stop when I was winning even if it is only $25. LOL.

  10. Karen says:

    Hi Ashley Samantha,

Happy 21st Birthday, girl! I’m so glad you won – makes the birthday that much sweeter.

Can I just say I *luuuuuurve* the Wheel of Fortune? When we got to the airport to fly back home I was so tempted to gamble in the airport casino because I could hear it calling to me…”Wheel! Of! For-tune!!!”

  11. Karen says:

    Hi Lilan,

Happy Monday! What did you do this weekend? Sounds like it was mellow…

  12. Karen says:

    Hi Jaclyn,

I’m not a big gambler (seriously, you have to pry that money from my hands), which is kinda strange because I have weird luck when it comes to the slots – I always seem to win a few dollars whenever I go. And whoever sits next to me ends up winning money, too!

LOL, if we ever cross paths in Vegas I’ll be sure to sit next to you – maybe you can make up for the last few trips and win a jackpot (or two!).

  13. Lilan says:

    Happy Monday to you, Karen!

My weekend was really mellow – I did four loads of laundry and ran some errands. And now it’s President’s Day and I’m at work – boo..

Hope you’re week is off to a great start!

  14. Kelly says:

Haha, those are my hubby’s favorite slots. He loves the Wheel of Fortune. Sadly, the Wheel is not kind and hasn’t made us millionaires… yet! Ha.

  15. Karen says:

    Hi Lilan,

I’m at work, too (sigh). Too bad we can’t grab a cup of coffee together!

  16. Karen says:

    Hi Kelly,

Many people fall prey to the Wheel’s charms, LOL! Last night I dreamt that I won the Wheel of Fortune jackpot. It was *glorious*. In the dream, I put in a couple of quarters, pulled the lever, and all three magical “Wheel of Fortune” symbols showed up on the slot machine!

Now if only that happened in real life…

  17. Lilan says:

    Boo for working on holidays!!

Don’t I wish we could get a cup o’ joe together! Maybe someday Miss Karen! :)

  18. Karen says:

Aye know! All the banks and the post offices are closed so the stuff I need to get done can’t even get done anyway!

But at least the phone isn’t ringing!

Right now I could use a non-fat latte (no foam)…

  19. Lilan says:

I’m very glad for the minimal client correspondance today too! I’m getting lots of status sheets done – it’s fabulous :)

I love drinking non-fat lattes too! Vanilla or hazelnut with no foam. People say that’s the best part, but I don’t understand drinking something that looks like baby spit.. TMI?? LOL

  20. Karen says:

Yeah, the foam does nothing for me, too. There’s usually a good half inch of it too – eff that, man! Gimme caffeine-infused liquid over fluffy milk bubbles any day.
