Two Ways to Win the MAC Semi Precious Mineralize Eyeshadows in Jade’s Fortune and Rare Find

Published in: Just For Fun

Good morning! Rise and shine, pal o’ mine. It’s the weekend, and a troupe of wild turkeys in bowler hats are performing show tunes right outside!

Okay, not really, but wouldn’t that be cool? :)

I’m on my way out the door but wanted to give you morning greetings (GREETINGS!) — oh, and also mention the movie I saw last night. We rented
I Am Number Four. Now, masterpiece of filmmaking, it is not, but I’m a sucker for sci-fi (you know this about me), and I enjoyed it a lot. If you liked Jumper, it reminded me of that. Good looking, fast-paced, interesting ideas, but uninspired acting (sorry, Quinn Fabray). Worth a rental if you like sci-fi and just want to let your mind wander for a while.

I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but Tabs was originally cast as the lead. He was let go after an outburst on the set (something to do with the catering and gravy). Rather than abandon the project, the producers brought in Alex Pettyfer to take over and changed the movie’s name…

Tabs is not Number Four

Enough about movies! It’s time to get on with our day, and what better way to start than with a chance to win MAC? You know what that means. It’s…

A Makeup and Beauty Blog Giveaway!

Win MAC

One lucky lady will win…

  • One (1) pan of MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Jade’s Fortune (a $20 value) and
  • One (1) pan of MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Rare Find (a $20 value)

Jade’s Fortune

Rare Find

Don’t these two of the 12 MAC Mineralize Eyeshadows from the upcoming Semi Precious Collection look like little works of art? They can be worn dry for a sheer effect or wet for something bolder.

  • There are two ways to enter, and you can do both of them for two chances to win. First, you can enter by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post, a comment about anything at all, like, the name of your favorite painter. Do you have a favorite museum? Do you consider yourself an artistic person? When was the last time you drew a picture? — you get the idea. Oh, and your comment doesn’t have to be about art. That’s just what’s on my mind right now.
  • Second, you can enter by following me on twitter Twitter @karenmbb and retweeting (RT) the following message:
    • Follow @karenmbb and RT to Win 2 of the MAC Semi Precious Mineralize Eyeshadows http://bit.ly/iXe9ZK

  • The deadline to enter is Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 11:59PM (PT).
  • Entrants must enter using a valid email address and/or Twitter account to win.
  • A maximum of two (2) entries per person — one within the comments at the bottom of this post, and a second entry via Twitter addressed to me @karenmbb.
  • Contest is open to individuals of any country who have reached the age of majority according to their local laws (18 in the United States with these exceptions: Alabama and Nebraska, 19; Mississippi, 21).
  • Tabs and I (heretofore referred to as “T-Money and K-Dawg”) will select one (1) winner at random from the entries either left in the comments at the bottom of this blog post or addressed to @karenmbb on Twitter.
  • The winner will be announced here within 48 hours of the deadline.
  • Void where prohibited by law.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

  49. Carrie B says:

Part of the reason I love makeup so much is because I love to paint (oils, mostly). Makeup is like painting on my face! Both makeup and painting are all about pigment. Well, pigment, binders, and mediums, i guess. Color. Texture. You know, that sorta stuff. But I find myself to be a bit of a pigment-collector, needing to expand my palettes of both paints and cosmetics! (ps. i linked my comment to my art site, where I’m slowly archiving all my past stuff)

  50. Thea says:

Ive been modelling for some time. Ramp and in photos. And a lot of make up artist painted my face magically. One of the best make
Ups they put in my face is MAC. Im notnthe type that puts makeup on a daily basis. Just some blush on and lipbalm is enough. But since ive been checking your blog every day. Im starting to fall inlove with your stories about it. Its just that i have no time to visit the mall and get a new makeup stuff. So by reading ur blogs, its like im wearin them even if theres nothin on my face. Im not

  80. Vicki N. Hammons says:

    Good Morning,
These two colors are very pretty, especially the “Rare Find”. It would be nice to win these.

I draw on occasion but it’s mostly attempting. The last thing I drew was “a dozen roses” for my youngest daughter’s birthday, who moved to Arkansas. I’ve always loved roses and wished I could draw them. So I tried. They were all different but came out pretty good. She loved them, as a daughter would!

    Have a great weekend!

  81. Dominique says:

I feel like I have the potential to be artistic (painting and sketching) however I do not have the patience.

I love that you compared the one to a Monet painting. I thought the same thing!

Also, I hope you’re getting pumped for True Blood tomorrow! Thanks to you, I HAD to order the Tarte for True Blood eyeshadow palette. :)

  90. Lani says:

Just painted my daugter’s room lavender sparkle! :)

  91. Lori says:

It’s been so long since I’ve visited a museum. I love to go and can spend hours looking at the artifacts, paintings and scultptures. One of my weaknesses is Egyptian history.

You’ve had so many giveaways recently! Thank you!

  96. Stacey says:

Most of the “art” in my home are framed concert posters. I love them – and they’re so “us”!

  97. auroragyps says:

I used to think I would major in art when I went to college, so I have lots to say about the subject. I think my favorite artist is Georgia O’Keeffe, because I really like botanical paintings, but I really like Van Gogh, Monet, & Seurat too. I’ve been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art & The Guggenheim & both are fun, although I like hanging outside, eating stuff from vendor’s cart & people watching even more (my absolute fav. museum in NYC is the Museum of Natural History).

I’m way more craftsy than artsy these days, crocheting, learning to knit, doing some jewelry making, and some sewing. I used to draw (I did win 2nd place for a sketch when I was in HS & 1st place for a small sculpture too) much more than I do & I’m really hoping to start up again with regular pencil, colored pencil, & pastels.

Thanks so much for the giveaway & great questions. These are my 2 favorite shadows in the collection, so I am knocking on wood like a mad woman. ;)

  98. Aisha says:

I learn more and more about Tabs every few weeks! LOL!
    My favorite painter is Monet!

  109. Amanda says:

I think i am artistic but not much of a painter…more crafty!!!

  110. Jenny says:

I used to draw pictures all the time, but what with work and life, I haven’t been doing it much. I must get back into it!

  111. Kellie says:

I have always wished I was more artistic. My husband is a writer, and a very good one at that, and sometimes that makes me jealous that I can’t create a work of art off the top of my head. Thanks for giving us a chance to win these pretty goodies Karen! :)

    Kellie

  123. Laura says:

I’m not very artistic, I like to draw/design classic fashion, but that’s about all I can do.
But then of course….does makeup artistry count? :) I am obsessed with TRYING, although I don’t know if I’m very good.

  124. NeenaJ says:

I’m pretty happy in any art museum. Put me in any town and I’ll find 3 things: food, makeup & art. I found a Rothko exhibit while I was traveling to HK. Probably my favorite exhibit I’ve ever been to.

  457. Sherry B. says:

I grew up in a very small town in the South and, was so thrilled when, in sixth grade, an art instructor from a near-by college, was brought in twice weekly to teach one other girl and me to paint. The following year, I was asked by my school’s officials to teach a voluntary, 30-minute art class after lunch; no one was graded on their work, it was just for anyone who was interested in art. We all had a lot of fun! I always thought it was so sad that our small school system could not afford a real art class; no money in the budget. There were actually one or two students who had real talent! Life happened and I haven’t painted or even sketched for years. Sometimes, I wonder what might have been…..
