Desperately seeking upgrade
Tabs has been wanting to redecorate his loft/home office for a while now. Originally, Nate Berkus had signed on to do the work, which amounted to a full makeover of the space, on his daytime show, but due to scheduling conflicts, it just never materialized.
So now the responsibility falls to me. Somehow, I have to appease the sensibilities of a diva kitty supermodel with incredible fashion and style sense.
I know, I’m screwed…
Tabs likes modern furniture, and the piece he needs most urgently is a new bed; his current cardboard one is literally falling apart.
Could you do me a favor and give us a hand? In your opinion, which of these beds below would best suit Tabs? 🙂
1. Modern Pet Bed, Sofa and Chaise Sectional

I think he might like this one because he’s totally into clean lines and height. It’s $149 and available now at the Atomic Attic Etsy Shop.
3. Retro Mod Pet Bed in Avocado Ribcord
This one’s $79, so it’s more affordable than the first two. It’s available now at the Likekittysville Etsy shop. Tabs does likes things that match his green eyes…
4. Upcycled Television Pet Bed
Tabs has always wanted to star in his own reality TV show. Maybe he could film one at home with this retro-style TV bed. It’s $129 and available now at the Atomic Etsy Shop.
5. Wall-Mounted Handmade Steel Cat Hammock
I thought maybe this one because of how much Tabs likes to dominate over the humans beneath him from high perches. He loves to exert his superiority through vertical height. It’s $110 and available now at the BratCatDesigns Etsy Shop.
6. Modern V-Leg Pet Bed
I have a feeling that this bed’s simple, clean lines would appeal to Tabs’ minimalist design aesthetic (one of his many sides). It’s $95 and available now at the ModPet Etsy shop.
7. Modern Pet Day Bed and Lounger
Doesn’t this one scream “bachelor pad”? I have a feeling Tabs might like this one, too. It’s $135 and available now at the ModPet Etsy Shop.

I’m thinkin’ he’s gonna go for the wall-mounted hammock, since that way he can look down on his minions (you and El Hub). He also seems to enjoy being up high in his cat tower, so altitude appears to be a passion. On the flip side, maybe you shouldn’t get him anything…everytime I dump money on my 2 kittehs, they turn there respective noses up at my offerings and I’m out the bucks.
i totally love number one, as i have two cats & think this would be perfect for them. so i can’t imagine one cat having it all to them self! i think he’d feel like the poo when he is hanging out on it! but i voted for number six, as i am a frugal bitch & would not spend $210 on a cat bed.
I think #4 is so cute!….. I want one for my dog now 😀
I love the hammock – then again I’m kind of an a hammock kick myself, so that might explain it…
Missy and I vote for number 2. I appreciate the clean lines and think it adds a nice bit of height. Missy, on the other hand, is impressed it’s got a black and white cat model as it’s spokeskitty.
I have a big crush on the gorgeous cat in number 3, but I voted for number 2 as the cat looks the most comfortable. But I really want kitty number 3, wonder if they’ll send him to me?
I voted for #2 because of its combination of features that I feel are important to Tabs. First, there’s some height from which to view his kingdom; second, it looks stable which will be key for Tabbies on the husky side; third, it’s roomy so it can be used for curling or stretching. The hammock just seems a bit to minimalist (and not as roomy/sturdy looking). 🙂
Just wait, he’s probably gonna prefer the box. lol Cats live to flout their human’s intentions.

I love the tv bed. We have them for the kitties at the shelter that I volunteer at and they are so cute.
In my experience, cats’ favorite beds are always yours. Their second favorite is always that ledge. Where you put the thing, the breakable thing that they shouldn’t be hanging around.

I’d go with #5! It doesn’t look the most comfortable, but it does have the most height and that’s what cats love. 🙂
They’re all so cute!! Very hard to pick!! I like #2 though because of the height – I feel like he could lounge on top AND play underneath if he wanted to! Perhaps crouch all sneaky-like next to the base, hidden from the view of unsuspecting human assistants, ready to pounce? Oh wait, that might not exactly be selling it to you….

I dont recommend the leather couch, its not a comfortable material and he might scratch it, being the scissorpaws we know he is…

Im in love with the TV bed. You are by far my favorite beauty blogger ever! Im such a cat person too- its good to know I’m not the only crazy one! 😛
From what I’ve learned from my cats, they will ignore whatever you buy them and sleep in a box. So I’d avoid going too expensive… I like option 2 the best, and it looks like something my fat kitty, Tiny, spends her hours in. Maybe get El Hubbo or a friend (or yourself, if you’re crafty!) to build the base and then buy a cushion? You could make it look however you like, and it’ll save you $$$. I agree that the wall mounted bad is cool as heck, but knowing cats, it’ll only use it as a launching pad.
My cat Rio and I watch Nate Berkus together everyday. 🙂 She loves him. We think the upcycled television bed is the best. 🙂
