Dear Diary,
As I sit here polishing my 2007 Super Bowl championship ring, I can’t help but feel a little bit nostalgic… As you know, I used to play professional ball for the Mill Valley Wildcats, and sometimes it surprises me that people don’t realize this. Yeah, my career, although it was short, taught me so much and prepared me for this life of fame and luxury.
Football taught me discipline, toughness, and it taught me how to basically stand up and be fierce. And if you can handle the pressure of the Super Bowl, basically, you can handle anything, even Karl Lagerfeld on a bad day.
So I’m walking down memory lane today. I mean, without that opportunity, without playing tight end for the Wildcats, I don’t know what would have become of me. I was just a cat on the mean streets of Mill Valley when that scout discovered me and said that I had the right physique and temperament to be a star in the NFL.
Unfortunately, my football career ended suddenly with a tail injury, but it gave me the confidence to transition over to kitty modeling. The rest is history.
Right now I’m just putting the finishing touches on my Super Bowl party spread. Not to name drop or anything, but Stephen Curry and the fam are coming over, so I’ve got the grill going, and I’m about to make my famous catnip apps for the neighborhood kitties. It’s gonna be a fun time.
Have a great day, Diary. I know I will.
Kisses,
Tabs

I didn’t know you had been a professional athlete, Tabs! I guess that explains your muscular figure. Ernesto the cat I’m an assistant for used to be a figure skater – he won a gold medal at the Feline Figure Skating World Championship in 2010, maybe you remember seeing him on the cover of Kitty Time magazine!

Ernesto! I do remember Ernesto. 🙂 When he pulled that triple axle from the cat loaf position? I was like, “Oh, no, he di’int!!”
Please give him my warmest regards. Are you two watching the game today this afternoon?

Oh, Tabs, I always suspected you had been big into sports, but I hadn’t known! This is where you got your discipline and athletic attitude.

With that physique of yours, I feel silly for not realizing you were a former athlete sooner! Oh dear. I’m glad you were able to land on all for paws after coming back from such a significant injury. Changing careers so suddenly can be stressful, but you took it like a real champ. 🙂

Man, Tabs is so multi-talented, is there anything he can’t do or hasn’t done?? *bows head in admiration*

Kitten Bowl was more interesting than the Super Bowl.
