You might be wondering, “So what in tarnation is this Monday Poll thing anyway!?”
Well, it isn’t exactly a poll. It’s more of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I’ve been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past seven years. (It’s like a kickstart for your brain.) I’ve always enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.
- What’s your current favorite lip product?
I picked up a YSL Volupté Tint-In-Oil in Peach Me Love 6 from Sephora right before Connor Claire was born, and it’s been the only makeup I’ve really been wearing lately, first, because I like it, and second, because it’s what I’ve had on my little nursing table next to me, and I haven’t had the time or energy to swap it for anything else, let alone put on any more makeup…or shower for that matter. It’s this, like, non-sticky, super moisturizing light lip oil/tint, and it smells like yummy apples.
- Do you use a lot of slang?
Yo, dawg! I use a little, but I can’t say I use a lot. 🙂I feel like I’m getting to that stage in life where if I try too hard to use the current slang, I’m like that aunt who’s trying to be hip, but is, like, so not hip.
There are some words I can’t stop using, like “hella” and “stoked” and “guuuurl” that I’ve been using for years, but I haven’t been able to smoothly incorporate words like “bae” and “slay…”
And I totally didn’t mean to make those rhyme, haha.
So, yeah…I use a little slang, but not a lot.
- What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
Well, I saw this thing in the April issue of Glamour called a lash lift, and I’m very, very intrigued. It’s done at a beauty salon, and what they do is curl your existing lashes and lift them from the root. Then they hold them in place with, like, a special serum so that your lashes look lifted and curled. The process takes about 20 minutes, costs about $100 and the effect lasts about a month. So for that one month, you don’t have to curl your lashes. Now, this for me? I have stick straight lashes, and the idea of being able to skip my lash curler is super appealing. Plus, something happened when I got pregnant, and I don’t know if it has quite gone away yet, but my lashes got really hard to curl for some reason. They’re stiffer and perfectly straight, so I like the sound of this service.
- Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
Normally I do like to change my hairstyles a lot, but I haven’t really left the house in two weeks on account of being in “temporary baby jail,” so lately, my main hairstyle has been a messy bun. - What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
Empathy. I like being surrounded by people who get it, you know? Who can feel my pain and my joy and my fears and understand what I’m going through when I’m going through something, and I can understand what they’re going through, too.I think I’m a pretty empathetic person, and I’m drawn to people like that. I also like people with a similar sense of humor.
- A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
Bora Bora. I’ve seen pictures of the Four Seasons resort there, and not that I’ll ever be able to afford to go, but I’d love to stay at that hotel. They have these huts right out over the water, and when you look down through the floorboards, you can actually see the ocean under you.I don’t know, but I think that would be really cool, and I love tropical places and places with warm, clear water.
Your turn. 🙂 Just copy and paste the following questions into a comment with your answers. I look forward to reading ’em!
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
Hello, my friend. I hope you’re having a great Monday so far. I’m holding down the fort here in temporary baby jail, trying to sneak in a nap and a shower every once in a while. Overall, I’m basically unbearably tired…but I think things are going pretty well. I think. This is week two.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Congrats on the new addition to your family!! I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a mom yet but it has to be an amazing feeling. I know you’re going to be such a great mom! Had to get that out the way lol.
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
NYX Embellishment Lip Lingerie Lipstick. It’s a little drying but I just love the color.
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
A little but not too often lol. I’m good to sneak a good “slay” or something every now and then but I think I’m starting to get a little too old to keep up myself lol
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
Lash extensions. They’re so beautiful and look super natural. I usually wear falsies daily so I have a feeling I would love them. I just need to push myself to actually try them soon
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
No lol. I’m usually in a bun but I’m trying to wear my hair out more often. I just hate all the work that comes with it lol. I do my own hair and hate sitting in salons so it’s just a matter of finding time and energy to spice it up a bit
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
They’re really understanding of my busy schedule. We still talk often but they know when to pull me out my bubble and when to just let me retreat. That’s what makes me love them most!
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
I really want to go to Paris. It’s such a beautiful place. I just want to soak in the city, sight see and really learn about the culture there. It’s definitely on my bucket list!
kellly says
Well, great minds on the lip product! I’ve been using the lower-end Sephora lip oil (the nude color) and loving it. It’s made my lips feel smoother than a lip balm and I like the color and shine.
I don’t think I use much slang. I have a quiet job and don’t even talk at all very much.
No beauty treatments I can think of. I’m a DIY kind of girl.
I’ve had the same (short) hair style for quite a few years now. I love it short, but am thinking of growing it out a little into one of those fashionable bobs with the long front and side and shorter back just to see how it looks. If I don’t like it, I can always cut it off again.
Friends – mostly not “fair weather” types. I like friends who remain friends even when life circumstances aren’t the greatest. It’s hard to be down about some life event and have friends who run for the door.
Travel – not so much. I traveled (in the US primarily) when I was younger and lately I really don’t care very much about going anyplace else. (Boring, huh?)
Kwmechelle says
1. What’s your current favorite lip product? My little jar of Blistex lip ointment. Lol! It’s only $1 & is the BEST stuff I’ve ever tried hands down for dry, chapped lips. I keep it on deck year round but during the winter I barely wear any lippies because the Blistex feels so great in my lips. It even cuts down on the amount of lip exfoliating I have to do. Yeah, clearly I’m a real dare devil with this one.
2. Do you use a lot of slang? This ones a toss up. I think I usually make up my own words more than use slang. I can turn any word into an adjective. It’s my special power ?
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try? Lash extensions. My natural lashes curl on their own but it drives me bananas! I actually wish they were straight like your’s. Lash extensions would give me even more oomph, I think, and Bambi wouldn’t have nothing on me!
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now? My friends say I do. But I’ve calmed down on changing my hairstyle often over the years. Right now I live in my Marley twists & because they can last for months, I don’t have to change them. Super cute & efficient.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends? Loyal. My life has changed so much over the years but my true, die hard friends have remained so loyal & loving to me inspite of these changes. I also appreciate that they’re empathetic. And I like to think of myself as the same.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go? Bermuda- don’t really know why except that it’s tropical. I’d love to be anywhere tropical at the moment 🙂

Congrats Karen on the birth of your daughter! I was wondering how things were going so it’s great to hear from you. 🙂
1. What’s your current favorite lip product? Origins KissZing
2. Do you use a lot of slang? Not really. Years ago I remember buying the slang dictionary and thinking it was really amusing!
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try? Hot stone massage. I like the hot stone treatment during a pedicure so I’m sure I’d love it.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now? I always keep my hair the same but since it’s naturally curly it varies day-by-day as far as how it behaves.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends? Trust
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go? Norway or Finland.
Lulle says
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
I’ve been using my Clarins Lip Perfectors a lot! They’re comfortable, they smell good and they make my lips pretty with just a hint of color and shine.
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
In English, no. In French however, yes, a lot, and I curse a lot too I’m afraid. It doesn’t feel natural in English yet though. Maybe it’s for the best, lol!
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
I’d do the lash curling thingy if it lasted more than a month, but I don’t see myself spending $100 for 4 weeks of curled lashes, even though I’d love to have “naturally” curled lashes!
Right now I’d love a good hot stone massage, I’ve done that before and it’s so relaxing. If I had to try something I haven’t done before I’d say a body wrap or something like that!
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
I absolutely suck at styling my hair, so it’s usually in a pony, twisted up and kept in place with a random clip, or just down.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
Sense of humor. I really can’t relate to people if we can’t joke and laugh together.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
New Orleans, Montréal, a haunted castle in Scotland. I’d love to go to New York city too, but I’ve already been there when I was 15.
Hang in there Karen! In a few weeks you’ll be able to shower again. It’s already amazing that you find the time to post updates here 🙂

1. What’s your current favorite lip product? Geez Karen, I think I answered the same way the last time you asked this question. I’m using Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine several times a day. In fact, I’m going through a little jar every other month. It smells good, lasts, and gives me just a bit of pink.
2. Do you use a lot of slang? No, although I totally dream of being a cool enough middle-aged woman to pull it off. Luckily I have a teen who tells me when I’m being ridic. Ha ha.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try? Maybe a fish pedicure. My mother swears by them. I’m not sure I could handle it though.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now? I’ve been changing my color up but I tend to stay with the same style. However, the hairdresser and I have been discussing an asymmetrical bob. So that may happen Sat. a.m. 🙂
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends? the ability to make me laugh. Make me giggle and I’m yours.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go? That place in Bora Bora you mentioned. I’ve seen photos, possibly of those same little huts, with the glass in the floor. That would be my idea of heaven.
Mellecannelle says
Oh Karen, I – myself overseas here in Germany – am thinking of you quite often.
So here are my answers, some of the topics are quite ongoing. 🙂
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
It’s Dior Rouge Baume in in colour 740 Escapade. It is always in my purse because it’s the perfect natural colour PLUS it’s a baume and really nourishing, just the best lipstick to carry everywhere around. You can always put it on without a lipliner pencil and it’s still giving enough colour, natural and fitting to every look.
And it’s almost done!! (I have so much lipsticks and the feeling, that I could never ever use up any.) I was looking for a cheaper option the last days, I found nothing, which could really replace the Dior Rouge Baume, so I gave in and ordered a new one yesterday. 🙂
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
Well, I use quite of and I am not proud of using the word “krass” (I’m German) for so often. And I have a bavarian franconian dialect. 😉
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
Karen, I got HUGE eyes while reading that a lash lift is about 100 bucks in the US!! Just these days I am practicing to do this (I am a makeup artist and newly a lash stylist, doing also lash extensions.), but here you pay about 30 Euros.
For myself I’d like to have some more facials. I only had very less of these in my lifetime, I shouldn’t dare to say that … I would so love to get my blackheads REALLY removed, but these little monsters stay with me since I was a teen. 🙁
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
About 2 years I cut my long hair to a Bob and wore a bob for 1,5 years I think. Since last summer I let it grow, but just last week I let it cut off to a Lob. Since last summer I often created some waves in my hair and I still do.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
I like an intelligent sense of humor.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
Indeed it’s Bora Bora here, too!! Because Frasier (from my favourite TV series “Frasier”) has been there, and because everyone else is travelling to Maledives, Southafrica, Seychelles or Thailand.
If I could afford it. But my hubby and me are really planning on visiting New York as my next place, where I haven’t been yet (he was already).

Two things that helped me feel like myself after my first baby in those early days were always taking a shower and buying a pair of jeans that fit. The shower to me always makes a huge difference since you’re not on call for possibly the only part of the day. Just helps me mentally reset. 🙂 And maybe to give someone a little laugh, I was wearing those post pregnancy jeans after #2 was born to our toddler class and the seam in the butt totally busted open, ha! Bad enough I’m having to bust my boobs out to feed him, last thing I need was my booty hanging out too. Mercifully I had a sweater I could tie around my waist. 😀
Chelsea says
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
L’Oréal Nude Balm in Nourishing Nude. I just bought the new Glossier lip product in Cake though, I can’t wait to try it.
2. Do you use a lot of slang? Not really, but I reference a lot of Internet memes.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
Lash extensions!
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
I got bangs, but generally I stay with my center parted long hair in my natural color, red, and my natural straight texture. I’ll probably grow the bangs out.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
Sense of humor!
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
London!
Gwenn Weiss says
What’s your current favorite lip product? I am currently loving the Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks. They feel great on the lips, come in gorgeous colors and have pretty decent staying power.
Do you use a lot of slang? No. My hubby and I went through on “on fleek” phase last year, but it got real old, real fast! (“These enchiladas are on fleet!”)
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try? I would love to try lip fillers, but I am afraid they will not look natural.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now? I change my hair style ALL the time. Several times a year at least. I play around with the length; bangs or no bangs; curly, straight or wavy; in addition to different highlights and lowlights. I get bored quickly with my hair.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends? Loyalty. A simple request, but amazingly a hard trait to find these days.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go? Almost too many to name…Alaska, Tahiti, Australia, Norway/Sweden/Finland, Scotland, Ireland, Dubai, Greece, Turkey..I’ll stop there…still lots more!
Gloria says
I’m the same way when it comes to slang! I feel like I’m trying to be a cool kid using SLAY but I do it anyways because I’m expected to be cool to a certain degree. Oy vey!
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
I just got the lip glass version of MAC Ruby Woo. It’s so sexy!
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
Yes and no. It really depends on who I’m talking to/texting/emailing. My sister would have no idea what “slay” or “bae” means and it would take too much time and effort explaining it. But with some closer friends they know I’ll say things like “ratchet” or “AF” to be funny.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
Fillers under my eye to smooth out my under eye area. And lip fillers. I want to look awake without dabbing on concealer all the time and I want my lips to be more even. Plus fillers aren’t permanent.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
I used to change up the color all the time. But once I stopped dying it about 4 years ago, I’ve been in a rut. My hairstyle doesn’t ever really change.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
Acceptance. Everyone is weird, accept it.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
Everywhere! Lately I’ve been really interested in South America. I heard that Buenos Aires was the Paris of South America.
Stephanie Smith says
1. What’s your current favorite lip product? I’m loving the Fresh Sugar lip treatments. They’re super moisturizing, and the colors are wearable and they look nice on a wide variety of skin tones.
2. Do you use a lot of slang? Yes! But like, 90’s slang. Lots of “dude” and “hella”, all the time. I like it!
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try? Ombré hair. I just have to make an appointment, but I hate to put bleach on my hair, dries it out. I think for the Summer though, it would be a good choice for me.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now? Right now I have blue hair, underneath my natural brown. But I’ve had long brown hair for a while. So I’m a little bit of a change up person and a little bit of a stay same person. For now.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends? Loyalty. I work really hard on my friendships and I like being around women who also work as hard on friendships. Strong women rock my world!
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go? I, too, want to go to Bora Bora!!! And NYC. And New Orleans. The kids are old enough to start big trips, so in the next few years some places are going to be crossed off the bucket list!

Hi Karen,
Oh, I hear you on the lack of sleep – the first month was the hardest for me, too. I hope you have help – maybe mom, mil, friend, or neighbor to help watch over her while you get a chance to nap?
The good thing though is once Connor Claire recognizes you and El Hub, (truly recognizes you), and smiles, time will start to fly! 🙂 That to me is the best milestone a baby could ever hit.
Anywho! To answer your questions…..
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF15. This is one area I’d been neglecting to keep protected from the sun, so now trying to make up for that.
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
Depends on your definition of slang lol. If swear words are considered slang, then yes, yes I do *ahem*. But in terms of current slang, no, I try to keep it out of conversations (okay, maybe an occasional ‘hella’ or two, along with ‘OMG’).
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
Hmm, it’s a tossup between a customized skin care routine set up for me and a holistic facial.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
*le sigh* I tend to stay with the same style (bun), due to age-related hair thinning.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
It’s a tie between honesty and trust. Without either, they wouldn’t be considered a friend.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
Australia.
Kate & Zena says
Hi Karen! I hope you and Conner Claire are doing great (and catching lots of z’s!)
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
You know, it’s actually a tattoo salve from my tattoo parlor. I got a new tattoo and the salve just happens to be really moisturizing and good for my lips. It doesn’t taste too good, but it sure is moisturizing!
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
Not really, especially new slang since I just don’t understand it. But, I am very guilty of using y’all (after all, I did live in Texas for 3.5 years. It’s ingrained in me), gnarly, sweet (as slang), and some others that just will not die.
In French, no, I can’t slang yet. I’m still very proper; that is, when I can remember my French. I can read French very well.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
Microdermabrasion for my acne which wants to terrorize me at the moment.
I’ve always wanted to try hair extensions too. I’ve always had baby fine, thin hair. I’d love to know what long, thick luxurious hair was like but having lupus makes things difficult. Anything that really puts a lot of weight on my hair will drag my hair out. Joys.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
HA, no. I cut four inches off last year and I slowly grew to hate it. I’m currently growing it out. I’m just a long hair girl.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
Tolerance and patience. When you have a developmental disorder, patience is a good virtue to have in friends because I often need a lot of jokes explained. I’ve gotten better with my filter but occasionally one has to say, “Hey, too far,” so tolerance.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
I’d like to go to Scotland. Everyone wants to go to the tropics, but part of my ancestry lies in Scotland, so Scotland. I lived in Germany, or I would say Germany (I don’t remember any of it.) I lived in Bavaria!
Rachel R. says
1. What’s your current favorite lip product? I’m still in love with Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani lipstick in Firebird.
2. Do you use a lot of slang? No.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try? Eyelash extentions, but they’re really expensive and you have to keep up on them. Plus I worry about being allergic to the adhesive.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now? My hair is super-straight and resists being curled or holding styles, so I don’t have many options with it. Ninety percent of the time it’s in a headband or ponytail. I hate it!
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends? Not using me.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go? Europe.
Erin says
I love it so much too! I think I might be more in love with it at the moment than my Fresh balms… which is saying something!
Rachel R. says
It’s just so pretty! The blue pearl to it just takes it to the next level.

Hang in there!
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
I love Lancome’s Shine Lover lipstick. It is like a glossy lipstick that wears like a stain. It lasts so long and it isn’t drying at all, which is so surprising. It is like a moisturizer!
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
No, not at all.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
I’d like to try microdermabrasion, but I’m afraid of any negative effects.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
I’ve kept my hairstyle for several years now. I change the color every often. Not completely but a few shades different.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
People who respect you (especially your time.)
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
I would love to go to Hawaii! It’s so amazing that I haven’t gone yet!
Erin says
1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
UD X Gwen Stefani Firebird Lipstick!
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
Hella
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
I’d love to try microcurrent facials!
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
I kind of get the same thing over and over until it grows out. No style right now.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
Loyalty!
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
Pretty much everywhere I haven’t gone! Bali, Thailand, Costa Rica, NZ, Aus, and Prague are all on my wishlist right now. Spain is probably at the tip top though.
Tatiana says
1. What’s your current favorite lip product? Tatcha lipstick in Sunrise. The plum blossom color. It’s been in my purse since I bought it and when I’m out and about it’s the one I reapply.
2. Do you use a lot of slang? Nope. The minute they cut the cord when my daughter was born I turned into a huge square nerd.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try? Hadn’t thought about this before, but that lash lift sounds good. I have a couple of lashes on my left eye only that are stick straight, even after putting a lash curler to them. It would be nice if they just got in line with the rest of my lashes.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now? Not really. I have super fine hair so I tend to keep it short.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends? Patience. I lack it, so it’s nice when my friends have it.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go? Horse back riding in Patagonia. Or maybe southern France.
You think things are going well? Other than being tired, is Connor Claire eating well? Pooping and peeing on schedule? Do you have someone to watch her for a few hours while you take a shower and a nap? Hang in there. It really does get easier, it just takes a while. Sending you and Connor Claire lots of love and hugs.

1. What’s your current favorite lip product?
~I’m really into Vaseline Lip Therapy in the rosy lips shade. It makes my lips super soft and fixes any dryness. I also love the subtle rosy shade!
2. Do you use a lot of slang?
~At times I do, and if I use my dialect of Italian (way down south Italy – Calabria and Sicily are where my family is from), that particular dialect uses a lot of slang. Like, my family doesn’t say “mozzarella” we say “mozzarell'”. I also love a good cuss word every now and then!
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?
~Hmmmmmm….I’d love to update my hair color. I usually dye it at home, but I don’t do highlights because they are difficult to do on yourself. I’ve always wanted some different colors woven in.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?
~I’ve tried some different lengths over the years, but the best hairstyle has been Victoria’s Secret length and layers. It’s versatile, sexy, and keeps my thick hair in check.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?
~I also greatly value empathy, because I truly love to hear how people are doing. I love hearing their stories. Being in law enforcement now after leaving the trauma/ER world, it’s almost doubly important to have a great support system.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?
~I also want to go to Bora Bora SO BAD but I don’t think I would ever shell out the money to get there…it’s like paying full price for a car…
Fran says
Karen, sneak in as many naps as you can! I’m happy to hear that things are going well — tiredness is hard to avoid at this point! You’re still recovering from an extremely long labor and difficult surgery while starting your new adventure!
1. What’s your current favorite lip product? I’ve been wearing minimal makeup a lot while I focus on getting some stuff done at home, and I recently discovered that NARS sheer lipstick in Damage is a fantastic MLBB shade for me 🙂
2. Do you use a lot of slang? Not much.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try? Hmm… if I could afford to get light or laser treatments for rosacea-related broken blood vessels, I would seriously consider it.

1. What’s your current favorite lip product? My current fave lip product is Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm or Nipple Balm, lol. It’s the only thing just about the works on my super dry lips. Just ordered another tube

6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go? My cousin’s were just in Bora Bora, BTW. While they said it was beautiful, they were trying to get back in an emergency and it took almost 3 days and they were too late. I am trying to plan a trip to the Grand Canyon for next month, but Jeff says it may be cold still. Hmmm. At some point, I’d like to go to Thailand

1. What’s your current favorite lip product?: Tarte Tartiest Lip Paints. I’ve been using Lovespell a lot, but I also own TBT and I just got Hangry in the mail.
2. Do you use a lot of slang?: Not a whole lot. I studied linguistics in college and that made me very aware of speech and dialects. A lot of slang I hear is from AAVE, and I try not to appropriate if possible.
3. What’s a beauty-related service or treatment you’d like to try?: Blackhead removal at a dermatologist’s office. I have had no luck removing them on my own.
4. Do you change your hairstyle often, or do you tend to stay with the style you have now?: I am not really a hair person, but as I get older I want to give my hair more of a boost. Once I get it cut into layers and side bangs, I think I’ll keep that style for a while.
5. What’s a trait you greatly value in your friends?: Empathy and compassion. Whenever I make friends with a jerk, it doesn’t last. I think that’s because I just can’t stand people who lack compassion.
6. A place you haven’t been but would like to go?: Ireland.
