    Ethnic dessert dishes everyone? Because my sweet tooth is aching for some :-) Currently, a favourite of mine is Halo-Halo, this gobsmackingly mouth-waterin’ dish from the Philippines. It’s got milk, sweet beans, ice cream, shaved ice, fruit and lece flan and is my cold comfort food of choice, especially now that it’s spring time.     Vegan carrot cake from Whole Foods with delicious vegan icing. Well, girls, it is Lent. I have given up desserts.
    I tried to give up alcohol last year and lasted two days. I was so disappointed in myself and got my pitchfork ready for the hot place down below. This year, I wised up. I still needs my wine so I gave up dessert instead. To celebrate my 55th birthday and my retirement last August, I scoped through my copy of the Cupcake Cafe cookbook and found a most beautiful cake with gorgeous roses all over it. I took the picture to my Whole Foods and a very skillful decorator Quinn copied the design on my own special carrot cake. It was just gorgeous and so delicious. Who doesn’t like carrot cake with lots of icing?? I can’t wait until Easter so that I can satisfy my sweet tooth!!
