rimmel-giveaway

One thing I’ve noticed about getting older is that time seems to move a lot faster than it used to. It must be a side effect, ha!

Like, I can’t believe 1999 was 10 years ago…

In the summer of 1999 I was hooked on Krispy Kreme and Cibo Matto. I’d moved back home after college and remember how tough it was adjusting to life back under my parents’ roof.

As much as I love my family, that summer was rough. Turns out I wasn’t the same person I’d been when I first left for school five years earlier.

There were lots of arguments, and sometimes I’d have to just get away. Most of the time I’d hit the local drugstore to hang out in the makeup aisle, like some weirdo lipgloss stalker.

It was on one of my late-night drugstore runs that I discovered the Rimmel makeup line.

I dug the simple packaging, price and mix of bright and neutral colors right from the start, and since then several Rimmel products have become staples in my makeup bag.

Some of my Rimmel favorites…

This summer Rimmel celebrates their American 10-year anniversary, so I figure let’s do this right and mark the milestone with a super summer giveaway. :)

I was in a new relationship and just bought a new car and had a bank account that was diminishing rapidly because I was out of work in a new town (Modesto) with no real direction. So actually the summer of 99 wasn’t the best but at least I can say that I mad it thru a ruff patch and things are better then they were ten years ago. Let’s hope this summer goes better, so with my eyes on the prize I’m very hopeful that I just might start this summer off with that wonderful Rimmel kit. Wow that would be great! Aloha

Although there were some sucky moments, like racist cashier at the fast food store. I mean, how can he be racist to me when he has the same heritage as me. That was just ignorant. I spent the summer hanging out with my best friends because I knew a lot of us would be seperated into different junior high schools (absolutely devastating, i know). I had braces and wore Roxy boardshorts basically everday of my life. Clear mascara was all I was allowed to wear at the time, but I would sneak black eyeliner and purple eyeshadow on when I’d leave the house and wipe it off before I got home. Since I couldn’t wear lip gloss, lipsmackers and BonneBell had to do :)

in the summer of ‘99 I was 9 years old! So crazy, I was a huge bookworm when I was younger… so I’d imagine I was either at home reading all the time, going to summer school or playing in the neighbor’s backyard with my sister and my other neighbor.

We lived in a townhouse around that age, so I probably rollerbladed in the afternoon up and down the long common driveway monotonously (sounds like it would be boring now, but as a kid I totally loved it).
