Disney Does Shoes and a Bunch of Other Stuff

Shoe Lust, Part Deux

  • I saw these red strappy sandals on Seychelles Footwear and instantly fell in lurve. With cold weather just around the corner my sandal-wearing days are numbered, but I’m oh-so-tempted!

Rabid About Twilight? Me Too!

  • The Twilight Lexicon Blog features up-to-the-minute news and info on the upcoming movie! I check it every day. :)

Annie, Get Yer Gunn… Yer Tim Gunn, That Is

  • Last night I watched my very first episode of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style. Yes, I’ve been living underneath a rock. In the show T. Gunn (of Project Runway fame) helps women discover clothing shapes and colors to suit their body types, so they can make smarter fashion choices.

The show’s website features this really fun game called The Wardrobe Room, where you can create outfits by paring up Tim Gunn’s wardrobe essentials — tops, bottoms, dresses and jackets (no accessories though, boo). It’s fun… and addictive. I spent WAAAY too much time playing this today.

Smell Less Stinky, Naturally

  • Looking for an all-natural deodorant? Bella Sugar suggests trying Bergamot Oil to mitigate that stinky pit sitch!

New Bath and Body Works Packaging

  • Beauty Addict gives the run down on the redesign of the bottles, tubes and artwork on the new Bath and Body Works Signature Collection product packaging.

Heya! I’m off to do a short run before the sun sets. Gotta burn some calories so I can eat popcorn when I go to the movies tonight. I’m taking El Hub to watch Let the Right One In, a Swedish film about vampires!

Watcha up to tonight? :)

Karen

that tim gunn left me wondering.. I wish there was like a software you could use to choose your clothes for the day.. I mean, taking pictures of your clothing items, put them in the computer, and then select your outfit for the day :D I’m sure I’ve seen this on films… am I right?

    Hey Karen!

I haven’t been getting the blog e-mails lately :(, so I’m catching up! I used to be a regular watcher of Tim Gunn’s show, but haven’t watched lately…going to check out that site!

Have a great night with El Hub and the vampires! :)

  4. Marisol says:

Awesome links! I like Tim’s show. I get a lot of great tips from him. I just wish Veronica Webb was still his co-host.

I am going to a house party tomorrow. Par-tay!

  5. lexi says:

yeah i agree – i loved Veronica Webb better than that Gretta chick even though Gretta sews and did more than Veronica. I just love Veronica and that whole 90′s Supermodel vibe she still has. I love Tim Gunn and would watch any show he’s in – he’s that fabulous gay Uncle I always wanted! I am trying to find a way to get on his show because the ladies get such sweet gifts from designers. You should watch the one episode where the former concert pianist gets to choose any bag as a gift from the InStyle studio – why she didn’t choose the Chanel bag – I’ll never know!

Also the whole body scanning image thing freaks me out – I would hate to see the computer generated body image of myself! I do learn a lot from his show. I still have to get his book…

  6. Bjooti says:

Seriously, those minnie mouse heels – I adore them. Where can I find them?

    Bjooti´s last blog post..Lola pÃ¥ sminkskola – 7 november

Hey Karen, I finally checked out Bed, Bath, and Beyond’s beauty section. It’s seriously impressive! I was surprised that a lot of the things there were much cheaper than places like Target. I ended up buying 2 shades of Essie nail polish (on clearance for $1.99 – woohoo!), a nail polish base, some new face wash, and a pack of Burt’s Bees lip balm. I was seriously impressed by their section of travel sized shampoos and what not. They had every kind you could imagine.

Hi Karen! I love that Twilight blog. I bought my Twilight movie ticket online yesterday! And while I was converted to Team Edward by the end of the series (as evidenced by the baseball jersey I told you about haha), I will always love Jacob. I bought a Team Jacob shirt from Hot Topic today and I love it!

  9. Karen says:

    Hi Rita,

I think I saw something like that in the movie Clueless. Alicia Silverstone’s character had a computer program that would help her select outfits before going to school.

I would love one of those things! I bet, though, that it would automatically delete all of my tank tops. :(

  10. Karen says:

    Hi Yadiq,

LOL! Can you imagine what a conversation starter those shoes would be?? If I saw somebody wearing them I’d soooo start chatting it up with them.

  11. Karen says:

    Hi Daya,

Oh no! Maybe the e-mails are getting accidentally kicked into your spam folder? That happens to some of the e-mail updates I subscribe to sometimes.

Once you see the new show you’ll have to let me know which co-host you like better! I never got to see the eps with Veronica Webb.

How has your weekend been so far?

  12. Karen says:

    Hi Lexi,

I so need Tim to be my fabulous gay bf. I could’ve sworn I saw him at SF Fashion Week a few years ago. I wanted to go up to him (or his twin?), but I totally chickened out.

And I can’t believe that lady didn’t choose the Chanel bag! HELLO!

I think the full-sized body image would traumatize me, but it would probably get me to the gym more often, LOL.

That would be so awesome if you got on that show!! I would totally Tivo your episode and tell people, “Hey, I know this girl!” :)

  13. Karen says:

    Hi Bjooti,

The shoes are by Castelbajac shoes.

  14. Karen says:

    Hi Brittany,

Yay, what a nice haul. Isn’t it satisfying to get stuff on sale? Gawd I love it.

Ours had a huge wall filled with travel stuff, too. I might have to hit it up before I leave for Florida for my friend’s wedding.

Hope you’re having a nice weekend!

  15. Karen says:

    Hi Janelle,

I haven’t been to a Hot Topic in about a million years, but I’d totally venture in to get a Team Jacob t-shirt. :)

I went to Border’s today, and while I was standing in line they were playing snippets of the movie on a flat screen TV. I saw some scenes that I hadn’t seen in the preview.

Also, I heard that during Heroes on Monday night they’re showing a Twilight sneak peek! AHHH!
