Urban Decay Fall 2011: Swatches, Pics and a Fun Tuesday Face of the Day

urban decay fall 2011

YOWZA! I could not wait to meet the 15 new eyeshadow colors in the Urban Decay Fall 2011 collection. 🙂

Here are pics and swatches of them and the other products in the release, along with a quick breakdown of the look I wore this afternoon, which, I should say, was inspired by the teal and purple look worn by the model for UD’s Fall 2011 campaign, and NOT by that embarrassing incident with the hot fireman last year.

I love this look 😉 and the shadows look good too! Would you say they resemble the texture of the shadows in the Naked palette? I like those. And I like how the lip products look too. Not feeling the lash curler though. It looks like an industrial strength machine 😛

      Hi Paris,

Yup, the textures are the same. I really like the shadows — they’re super easy to blend, and very, very pigmented.

this is a gorgeous collection, and your look – OMG cute! love it!

a few years ago, i went to a church christmas party w/ my aunt. it was held in a part of town i wasnt familiar with, and on our way home, we got lost. hopelessly lost.

i decided to stop by a firehouse, where as luck would have it a cute fireman came out to help us. i asked him how to get back to US59 and he said go east. i have no idea where my north/south/east/west was so i was like — “uhm, could you point that direction out to me”. he did, but i could tell he was thinking i was a dork so as soon as we were done, i thanked him and ran back to the car, blushing furiously!

Haha, I would’ve done the EXACT same thing. I’m “directionally challenged” and get lost quite often too. When people to tell me to go north, south, east or west I’m like, “Huh? Just tell me what street to turn on or what landmark to look for.”

I really like that teal eye, btw. Though both look great on you.

That UD, so neutral and boring with their colors. HAHA! I’d say my faves from the swatches are: Revolver and Retrograde liquid liners (though, they’re all awesome-looking) and F Bomb gloss. I guess I’m not in a shadow mood because nothing really made me fall in love. The palette seems super-versatile, though. And you know there’s pretty much a 0% chance that I’d actually wear F Bomb; I just like looking at it in the swatch. 🙂

One of these days, my friend, we will get you in a bright red gloss like F-Bomb. Mark my words! It WILL happen!

Oh yeah — we still have to catch up on True Blood. I really enjoyed the last episode. It looks like this season is shaping up quite nicely.

I’m going to try to swing by Sephora tomorrow and I’ve been thinking about Tarte’s TB lip tint. It’s sort of like the gateway drug to red lips, right? 🙂

And I definitely agree about the show. I’ve been an Eric fan (since the hair cut, of course) and if any of the seasons focus on him, I think this will be it. AB usually follows the main plot of each book, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I’m curious about whether the True Blood Palette or this palette would be a better purchase for me. I’m an NC25 with dark brown hair/eyes. I am leaning toward Urban Decay because I am loving these bright colors but I’m afraid I won’t be able to pull them off as well as the True Blood palette (which seems like colors I’m comfortable with).

Ok, I want the palette just for Midnight 15. It looks very close to an old Body Shop eyeshadow that I’ve been trying to replace for so many years (that one was called Mushroom and I always got compliments on it). I think there’s only 2 shades that I wouldn’t use in the palette but I still can’t justify buying it for just 1 colour, lol. I wish that some of the palette colours (from this and Naked) were available as individual pots.

My palette arrived today and it is AMAZING!! I was afraid of the bright colors, but they are beautiful. I think it is a must have!

You look so pretty here–just like a mermaid! I wasn’t interested in the palette before, but I kind of want it just for Omen now!

Great swatches, I think this is one of the best looking (non-bulky) palettes they’ve put out apart from the naked palette. Kudos UD and to you Karen for the swatches.

That eyeshadow collection is awesome, and I love the way you used the colours in your look!

(seriously, the eyeshadows are the one thing I’ve seen this year that I’ve wanted with a passion, is it bad that I’m considering driving to Ottawa — 2 hours away — to hit their Sephora?)

The lip colours are fabulous too but not quite so covetable as there are currently available dupes from the drugstore lines of at least a couple of the colours.
