Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

My new hairP.S. How was your afternoon? We made it over the hump, so from here on out it should be smooth sailing until the weekend. Here’s a phone pic of my new ‘do. I went pretty short, taking off about six inches, and I got bangs!

What’s on the agenda for tonight? Right now I’m just playing around on Facebook and Twitter. Tabs and I are going to watch the latest episode of Glee.

I use a LOT of concealer, and a lot of creamy e/s colors, usually taupes or beige– then full mascara (top and bottom) because it makes me look wide eyed (and bushy tailed!)

  4. Miriam says:

I find that lighter, more natural eyeshadows with a nice sheen for the lid, white eyeliner for my waterline, and MAC’s Select Moisturecover for my undereye circles are really awesome for hiding the fact that I may be running on only a couple hours of sleep.

  5. nikki says:

i tend to wear more natural eyeshadow shades when i look like a zombie, it brightens up my eyes tons

  6. Carly says:

When I haven’t gotten enough sleep, I use Benefit Ooh Lah Lift and then Benefit Erase Paste under my eyes.

  7. Marisol says:

I use Benefit’s High Brow & Eye Bright.

  8. Debbie says:

I usually use plenty of concealer under my eyes, white/very light eyeshadow colors, avoid mascara and dark eyeliner, and a light lipgloss!

  9. milaxx says:

I do a simple eye. a little brighter, some mascara and prob just one sweep of color.

  10. dip says:

    !!! i love NARS!!!!
when i look underslept i tend to look zombie-pale so i use a bright pink blush.
and white on the water line to open the eyes

  11. yumi says:

i use a sheer, shimmery cream eyeshadow and dark blue eyeliner, just barely applied in a thin line, to make my eyes look whiter and more awake.

  12. VJ says:

I use a white eyeliner pencil around the bottom of my eyes. Thanks to Tyra for the tip!

    I’m following @vantalee

  13. katie says:

YSL Touche Eclat and Laura Mercier Secret Brighting powder.

  14. Diana Kim says:

For my dark circles that give my lack of sleep away, I use a salmon colored concealer to first neutralize the blue. Then I use a concealer a shade or two lighter than my normal skin color to really brighten my eyes. I usually curl my eyelashes to the max and swipe on some lengthening mascara. I usually line my waterline with a white eyeliner to make my eyes appear brighter and open them up a bit. With the same eyeliner, I smudge a little bit into the inner corner. By that point, I dont look too bad…I hope! πŸ™‚

  15. cutie_pie says:

i definitely curl my eyelashes and use a lot of mascara. a thin line of eyeliner on the top opens up my eyes, and a more natural eyeshadow like mac all that glitters helps <3

  16. angie says:

i line my waterline w/ a white kohl pencil, add plenty of concealer, and add a light shimmery shadow to the inner corners of my eyes

  17. Amanda says:

Karen, you have the best giveaways! However, don’t enter me on this one (I already own that eyeshadow and want to give another lady a chance at it!) I just want to comment πŸ™‚

When I don’t get enough sleep (more often than not lately!) I stick to brighter golden shadows, highlighter on my cheek bones to distract from my dark shadows, and lip gloss. Whenever I wear a lot of makeup without sleep I tend to just look worse!

  18. Julia Z. says:

pinky-peachy cream shadow all over the lids and concealer..TONS of concealer πŸ˜‰

  19. Lorraine says:

When I haven’t gotten enough sleep I put concealer all over my eyelid to make a good base. Then I use a light eyeshadow shade in the center of my lid to make me seem brighter, contour with dark eyeshadow at the corners and into the crease. I do a double layer of mascara on eyelashes after curling of course πŸ˜‰ got to open and brighten. Then I put a bit of shine by the tear duct, usually gold eyeshadow or pale yellow, it really does make you look more perky.

  20. Cindy says:

I like to wear a champagne color on my lids and mascara to keep the attention away from the dark circles. I’ll use a concealer and highlighter under the eye to brighten the area. And white eyeliner on the waterline.

I wear a peachy blush to draw attention to my cheeks instead of my eyes haha

  21. Tori says:

I definitely put on some concealer, usually something with a peachy tint in it to cancel out the purples/blues. Then i would do a very natural eye look including stila’s eye kajal in topaz on the waterline and some golden/white eyeshadow on the inner corner of my eye. For lashes i put to coats of mascara on the top and one coat on the bottom. πŸ™‚

  22. Fabienne says:

I go crazy with MAC Cream Colour Base in Fawntastic: I use it as an eyeshadow base (I love the sheen it gives under matte shadows!), a dab on my inner corner, apply it on my cheekbones and along the bridge of my nose, and on my cupid’s bow. I top my lips off with my C.O. Bigelow tinted lip balm in Berry, coat the lashes in L’Oreal Double Extend mascara, tie my hair into a neat bun, and I’m good to go! I love looking dewy while detracting attention from my eyes toward my lips, hehe

  23. Paula Rose says:

When I didn’t get enough sleep I definitely use a Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer topped with her Candlelight illuminating powder strategically placed! I use a little concealer brought in around the inner corner of my eyes and a pearly light shadow over my lids and corner of eyes. Hit the eyelash curler and one swipe of mascara and do a bright lip!

  24. Jenna says:

concealer definitely, white eyeliner on the waterline and inner corner are a must

  25. anina says:

when i don’t get enough sleep, which is often, i usually go more neutral. and a lot of concealer. like half of my whole regimen becomes about the concealer. though on some days, i do a don’t and just pile on the smokey eye, like war paint.

and really guzzle water like there’s no tomorrow.
.-= anina’s last blog post… where I discover old brands, and scents bowl me over =-.

  26. Bobbie Jo Gardella says:

I put concealer under my eyes to soften the darkness. I tend to put on heavier eye shadow and blush as well – It helps – πŸ™‚

Following you on Twitter as well –

Thank you for this chance and Happy Holidays!

  27. Babybubblz says:

Moisturize (2 layers of it) really well so I can make my skin as plump as possible to prevent dull skin. Apply concealer, especially to the undereye area. Add BLUSH!

  28. eunice =] says:

concealer is a must! specially when i dont get enough sleep, the bags under my eyes are dark and i look like someone just punched me to get up from my bed lol. after that i add a tad bit of urban decay’s primer potion [sin] & 24/7 eyeliner .

  29. Babybubblz says:

Oh and I ordered the Origins GinZing based on your review! Can’t wait to get it =) Thanks for the recommendation, you always give great ones!!

  30. Synaesthesia says:

I don’t think I have enough sleep everyday… haha… so this will be my routine, using I Nuovi Undercover Undereye Concealer in 2Y to cover up my nasty dark circles. 2nd, brighten up my inner eye corner with pastel color such as light pink, white or champagne. 3rd, a thin eyelining at the inner but bold at the outer area. Nevertheless, bright but not striking blushes..

  31. Morgan says:

When I don’t get enough sleep (like last night…) I really take time with my concealer. Correcting shades and normal shades. A Little mascara, bronzer and a bright blush and gloss… This takes the focus off my tired eyes. After a REALLY bad night I’ll go for a flesh toned eyeliner on my waterline.
    .-= Morgan’s last blog post… Deprived =-.

  32. ainsleigh says:

I use loose shimmery white powder on my inner lids and browbone. A sweep of UD’s midnight cowboy is always fun, I love the silver glitter and shimmery sandy color. Concealer is of course a must, and a white pencil on the waterline usually helps too πŸ™‚

  33. stickles says:

Piling on the concealer, but keeping it light otherwise.

  34. Fiona says:

I use Benefit’s RSVP as an all over lid colour then go in the inner corner with Your Ladyship to give it that pop of brightness.

  35. Jen says:

    Love your new hair cut!

I always look tired without makeup, apparently πŸ™ That’s what everyone says, even when I get 10 hours of sleep. SIGH. Anyway, I use Smashbox’s Photo Op under eye brightener, then their camera ready full coverage concealer. Actually, that’s what I use all the time, because of the aforementioned permanent dark circles. I’ve just discovered the power of UD’s eye liner in Yeyo for the inner corners of my eyes.

Ooor… I just embrace it, and go out looking like a zombie.

  36. Hyzenthlay says:

Definitely hit my waterline with white liner (UD Yeyo, though it leans white/silver on me). Then I use UDPP in Sin, and a small-as-I-can-get-it line of Bourbon. I’m working on using an TINY TINY line of UD liquid liner in Oil Slick right in the base of my lashes. Definitely no tightlining on those days for me!

I use concealer on my under eyes.

It turns out not great, but it makes me look less dead, so that’s good!

    And I LOOOOOOVE your haircut!

  37. S says:

I don’t wear a ton of makeup, but on tough mornings I use blush (currently loving Nars Dolce Vita), a quick swipe of Laura Mercier’s Topaz eyeshadow, and a sheer, shimmery lip gloss.
.-= S’s last blog post… recipe review: steel cut oats =-.

  38. Holly G says:

Some extra mascara, careful eye contouring, nice undereye concealing, and Bare Escentuals Warmth all do a good job camouflaging my ridiculous lack of rest! (In fact, I’m planning on using that very trick tomorrow a.m.!)

  39. Smiley says:

I use Benefit Recess Cream Shadow, Stila Kitten over that and finish by curling my lashes followed by mascara. NARS Desire blush also helps me look fresh. I never do nude lips when I’m tired, I use like a tinted lip balm or something. πŸ™‚ Love the new hair btw!!
    .-= Smiley’s last blog post… Recess Review =-.

  40. ari says:

i would wear this awesome eye shadow duo!

but for reals, I use my eye primer/brightener and conceal my dark circles. and i use your tip abotu the light cream shadow and curling lashes + mascara. saves time and makes me look somewhat together!

  41. adinda says:

If I dont have enough time to sleep in next day i used to apply a frosty gold/yellow based eyeshadow under your eyes before concealer. Because it can cover my dark circle under my eyes and brighten my eyes also.

  42. Theresa says:

I use some extra mascara and some neutral eyeshadow to help me fake a well-rested look. I got a pack with Recess and Honey Bunny cream shadows from Benefit on sale at Sephora (they were $10.00 total) that are great for helping me look more rested than I really am.

  43. Molly says:

The ol’ spoons in the freezer trick for my honkin’ no-sleep eye puffiness, a bit of Clean & Clear eye brightening cream (that stuff is da bomb. πŸ˜‰ ) as well as white eyeliner. For some reason, my eyes look lopsided when I’m tired, and the white liner helps hide that a bit.
Does it seem weird to anyone else that this means I spend MORE time on my makeup when I’m exhausted? I can’t really get over the irritating hypocrisy of my puffers.

  44. triciac says:

I just use a little mascara, and make sure my eyebrows and lips look great. Anything to take away attention from my eyes period.

  45. Ashley says:

Same thing as you, I mix my eye gel with a powerful concealer. Curl my lashes, put on some mascara & my eyes just POP. I always line my water line with a shimmery white eyeshadow stick too. There’s not much else I can do. Definitely no blue eyeshadow or anything smokey πŸ˜›

By the way, I love what you’ve done to your hair! It’s like a breath of fresh air!
    .-= Ashley’s last blog post… Almost December! =-.

  49. yasmin says:

I skip the eyeliner on the bottom lids, and instead just use a thin line of black liquid liner on the top. πŸ™‚ And lighter colors for sure.

(Agree with Ashley, you hair looks great!)

  50. Jenn says:

MAC’s Studio Fix concealer under and on the inner corners of my eyes, follow up with Stila’s Kajal liner in Topaz for the waterline. Then curl lashes, mascara, heated eyelash curler, and mascara again! And if I want, I’ll use a white shimmery eyeshadow on the inner corners to make my eyes pop. This does not only make my eyes look bigger, but brighter and more awake as well.

  51. Juanita says:

Love the haircut! More pics of that please.

Luckily I don’t get dark circles just lovely blemishes or acne scars to cover up. My makeup routine is the same tired or coherent. Perhaps the Kalahari duo would do the trick! Mentally “tired”, well I just down a ton of coffee and stare thoughtfully at my computer for the first hour of my workday.

  52. Cheska says:

When I don’t get enough sleep, I moisturize with my Olay moisturizer (I forgot the name, but it’s the pink one), curl my lashes, and pack on the mascara! ^_^

  53. Kate & Zena says:

Concealer, concealer, concealer. I usually wear a white shimmery shadow too.

  54. ezzie says:

i use a light flesh-toned eyeliner on my water line (since i have a medium-ish skin tone white eyeliner is a bit too harsh looking) and choose a creamier concealer than i would normally use to realllly hide those dark circles. then i coat my lids with a thin layer of shimmery base (like revlon’s color illuminance cream shadow in skinlights- one of my favorite drugstore buys!) and apply a neutral shade on top of it. then i highlight the inner corners of my eyes with an off-white pearly shadow, curl my lashes, add some mascara and KAZAMM- i look like i got 8 hours of sleep πŸ™‚

  55. Liz says:

After reading your blog, I got myself MAC MES in Love Connection. I always reach for it whenever I need to fake “good night’s rest.” And, of course, concealer!

  56. jk says:

When I don’t get enough sleep, I like using pale pink cream eyeshadow since it opens my eyes up so I look for alert. Then I make sure I use concealer for any bags under my eyes and from one of your older posts, I fell in love with benefit’s high beam, which I use to make my face look brighter.
    .-= jk’s last blog post… I am not mean =-.

  58. vandana says:

um…i play up the whole sleepless college bum beauty look…nah, when i have to step it up- i conceal the undereyes and THEN prime the lids (so all my hard work doesn’t go to waste) and then use a pale pink cream eyeshadow (from the shu uemura rose palette, i think i bought it cause i saw it in the blog, best purchase ever) and line the upper lids with either bourbon ud or that eggplant color from ud and then line then line the waterline with honey ud liner and smudge it to the bottom lashline. ooh, and i also hit the inner eye corners with the honey and the pink, so it creates a halo like finish! this is getting long, so i’m going to stop…but the kalahari eyeshadows are gorgeous and i adore ur blog =)

  59. lelila says:

i use stila kitten e/s, it brightens my eye area!
.-= lelila’s last blog post… NOTD: China Glaze Ruby Pumps =-.

  60. Margaret says:

i use hope in a tube then origins ginzing to help brighten my undereye area. i then buff smashbox high def concealer with a mac 217 brush.

  61. AAJ83 says:

bobbi brown corrector to cover up the damn dark circles! πŸ˜€

  62. Thom says:

i definitely have to use concealer. Love my Clinique concealer. Also using a light color (champagne) to line my entire bottom line really brightens up my face.

  63. moRdh says:

After I have had my morning jolt of caffeine :-). I use Benefit erase paste to cover my dark circles and a loose powder to set. Once I have finished my eye with Urban Decay sin eyeshadow and Cargo saucelito in the crease, I use Tarte rest assured brightening wand. I use the liner on my water line and then use the highlighter in the corner of my eyes. Works every time!!

  64. Vanessa H says:

Happy Wednesday! The hair looks fab!

When I’m tired, i use a concealer a shade lighter than my skin under my eyes, use mineralize skinfinish all over, a luminizing blush, mascara, and i dab a satin white right in the inner corners of my eyes πŸ™‚

  65. Ciambella says:

I prime, use a bit of concealer in the inner half of the undereye area to cover darkness, sweep some sort of nude-colored, shimmery shadow on the lid, and then add the lightest touch of Stila’s “Kitten” eyeshadow in the tear duct to widen & perk up everything!

And I like your bangs, Karen!

  66. Jennifer A. says:

I don’t get undereye circles, so I just go with the got-less-sleep look and make it “pretty”. I use L’Oréal Paris HiP Cream Shadow Paint in Commanding and smudge it on my lid up to my crease and a little on the outer corners under my eye, going for that Emily Deschanel pretty red-eye look, haha. Then I just put on some mascara – I don’t care if it’s a little messy – it’s part of the look, and I’m done! It sounds a little sloppy, but it actually comes out looking really nice, like I’m so busy I don’t manage to get any sleep, but I’m so pretty I still look great anyway.

  67. Kypris says:

Karen, I love your new haircut! You look gorgeous!

When I’m tired… I like to use a little white or a light colour wash on my eyelids, a bit of liner and some eye-opening mascara (i.e. looking for length and curl, not so much thickness). I don’t really have an under-eye concealer… so for now I just deal with the bags, since I used to not get them (those were the days…) and I haven’t really had a chance to think about it recently!

  68. Rae says:

Aww man, I NEVER get enough sleep. TimeBalm concealer topped with Boots No. 7 illuminating concealer, then crimped lashes and mascara (if I have time.) I know I should do a lot more to wake up my face, but I figure the extra ten minutes of sleep are worth it!

OH! And blush. Definitely blush — I’m pretty sure the last time Ieft home without it was over two years ago :/ I’m a major blush addict, I know!!

Loving the hair, btw. That cut looks super cute on you. Does your head feel… lighter? (I always feel like my head is lighter for a few days after I chop off more than two inches. It’s such a difference!)
    .-= Rae’s last blog post… “Glam Red” FOTD =-.

  69. Anny says:

    Hi Karen! I LOVE NARS!!
Umm what I do to make me look refreshed is…
I use a light shimmery champagne color on my lid and around my inner corner then I use a bronzy color on my crease and for the outer corner or V I love using NARS Mekong shadow. Then I use NARS Albatross to highlight under my eyes bridge of my nose and above my jaw line. I would love to own this NARS duo =)

  70. Wait4Sum1 says:

You look great with new hair cut.

Could you do a close-up photo? I think about getting new hair cut for new year too.

you know πŸ™‚ for a change!

  71. Stacie says:

Wow, Karen, your hair looks super cute!! Love it!

I use lots of concealer when I look tired, and then eyeliner. No matter what, I look more awake with eyeliner, especially along the lower lash line. Blush helps too, since I get even more pale (if that’s possible) when I’m sleep deprived.

  72. Step says:

I use yellow toned powder to cover up my circles, normal foundation with highlighters, shimmery lighter eyeshadows to bring lots of glow to my eyes and make them look bigger and more awake. I feel all bright like the sun, but I probably still need the coffee.

  73. emiliana says:

I use a concealer to hide away the black circles around my eyes and use eyeshadows in neutral brown colors.
.-= emiliana’s last blog post… winter giveaway up and running contest =-.

  74. Karen B says:

This will hopefully get me over the regret at not stuffing my suitcase home from Canada with Nars.
Usually I reach for my wonderful concealer (dark circles, eww) and then an eyeshadow variation which always – always – contains MAC’s vanilla eyeshadow. I think it works so well because I’m so pale.

  75. dire says:

cheap-o neutrogena mineral concealer (actually, i got the wrong shade, but it blends pretty well), purminerals foundation, bronzer, brown eyeliner & a white-peach eyeshadow to brighten my eyelids. i need a better concealer though!

  76. CC says:

I like the haircut!! It looks a lot like the photo I was planning on bringing to the hairdresser next time :). When I haven’t gotten enough sleep, I use concealer and either blush or bronzer.

  77. Jessica says:

    Ummm, sunglasses? LOL

When I’m short on sleep, I play up my top lashes. Black liquid liner on my upper lid and mascara. I’ll also find a fun bright lip gloss to draw people’s gaze away from my puffy eyes.
    .-= Jessica’s last blog post… WellÒ€¦On to DecemberÒ€¦.. =-.

  78. Nina says:

I use my heavy duty concealer and then put a shimmery champagne shadow on my inner corners!

  79. Roxan says:

Hey karen! what i usually do when i look so tired and have to put make up on to make me look more alive is, i first put on my make up forever hd powder all over my face to give me a clearer and smooth surface on my face, then i conceal all of my inperfections and dark circles under my eyes using e.l.f. conceal pencil and brush , after that i put on a natural looking eyeshadow and apply 2 coats of black mascara and then rim my water line with stila kajal eyeliner in topaz. sweep on some blush and thats basically it! makes me look like i got all my beauty sleep the night before when i really didnt haha!

  80. Heidi says:

MAC Femme-Fi in the inner corner of my eyes,
MAC Vanilla under the brow bone,
MAC MSF Natural in Medium under the eyes,
and a few sprays of MAC fix+ or Shu Uemura’s facial mist to startle myself and wake the F up!!

  81. Amy says:

I wish I knew! I just continue looking sleep-deprived. I did just order the Origins GinZing eye cream though ($10 off of $25! Yay CyberMonday) so maybe that’ll help.

I don’t know of any makeup I would ever give up Nutella for. Hopefully I’ll win and find out πŸ˜€

  82. Connie says:

I like to use Benefits High beam and illuminate my cheekbones, inner corners of my eyes, and the browbone as well. I also use Amazing cosmetics concealer, some eyeliner, and I’m good to go!

Btw, I absolutely love Finn from Glee! Puck isn’t to bad to look at either πŸ™‚

  83. MajinMitsukai says:

When it looks like I haven’t gotten enough sleep (which is almost always) I double up on my concealers for under eye. I use an NW shade of liquid concealer, then I use my usual NC 15 studio sculpt. Then set the whole mess with Mineralize skinfinish natural because it reflects light put on with a small brush. I have -really- bad dark circles especially on low sleep so this really helps. For eyeshadows I try to keep it simple with a shimmery light shade (like mac shroom) all over the lid and a little soft brown in the crease, white eyeliner in the waterline and lots and lots of mascara that’ll hold an eyelash curl πŸ™‚

  84. Janelle says:

When I look like I didn’t get enough sleep the previous night, I wear my glasses (instead of my contacts). I find that my glasses mask my eyes/face more, so I tend to wear them on my lazy-makeup days. I also put a pink, rosy color on the apples of my cheeks!

  85. Jessica Lynn says:

honestly, i don’t get enough sleep regularly! i just do my makeup as usual, but if i look particularly haggard, i’ll put on some extra concealer in a lighter color under my eyes and make sure i do my eyeshadow perfectly do distract from underneath. and if all else fails, at least i look like a cullen vampire with bruises under my eyes πŸ™‚

  86. Carolyn says:

When I don’t get enough sleep, I have to use a brightening eyeshadow like MAC Naked Lunch or Ricepaper, all over my lids, up to my browbone. I then use black liner to define my eyes, as well as use a lot of eye concealer from Bobbi Brown!!

  87. Ginger says:

I use Clinique airbrush concealer under my eyes, especially if I have dark circles. I call it my nap in a stick. I also use navy blue eyeliner when I remember (to brighten up the eyes).

  88. maryinwonder says:

Definitely use bright colors for my eyes….and concealer to lighten up a bit those circles!. As for the whole face? Simple and clean look πŸ˜‰

  89. Kylie says:

When I look tired, I always curl my lashes and use a dark glossy mascara, like BE Flawless Definition, with a cream shadow, such as BeneFit Creaseless Cream in Bunny Hop. The light pink tends to brighten things up!

  90. lisa says:

i use white eyeliner on my lower waterline and make sure to curl my lashes and put on black mascara! i also add a skintone shimmery highlight to my tearduct area and under my brow bone.

  91. Moni says:

When my eyes feel tired I use a concealer from L’Oreal in dark circles and Moonbean from Benefit in the creases. Then, lots of mascara to open up my eyes and I’m ready to go.
Btw, awesome giveaway, thanks so much!

I love MAC Select Cover-Up! Bye bye dark circles :o) Also, a great tinted moisturizer, either Laura Mercier Regular Formula or MAC Studio Tint… since my skin needs some “radiance” and typically looks dull and dry when I lack sleep.

Love your hair cut by the way!! Very fresh :o)

  95. Hayley says:

  119. Karen4 says:

Hey Karen! Your new ‘do is fabulous! Looks great! When I’m not so well rested, I use tinted moisturizer for a dewy look, a pop of creamy pink blush on the apples, a golden beige shadow on the lids with a little shimmer (MAC’s summer neutral or BB shimmer taupe are faves), chocolate liner really close to the upper lashes only, and masacara on top lashes with just a sweep on the bottom. Concealer (Nars Custard or Benefit Erase Paste) goes on last along with a light sweep of Smashbox Halo powder or Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil.

  120. Allie says:

I keep it simple. A light sweep of a couple neutral colors (I like the Nars Madrague duo), a ton of mascara, and my dark circles cocktail–peach corrector, MAC select coverup, and foundation.

  121. Katy says:

Cold spoons, loads of concealer, and extra mascara on the top lashes

  122. Sarah says:

I almost always look tired, a by product of always being tired, and so I’ve started putting a bit of lancome concealer under my eyes (its subtle enough that I just have to rub it in and be done) and Kat Von D liquid eyeliner, a bit of Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero on the waterline, and lots of black mascara. If I have more time I’ll put a MAC smudge thing in Painterly (I’m horrible with names) on my lids just to brighten them a bit. And MAC blush, in a peach tone.

Also, I love the new hair! I can’t wait to see it in more detail in a FOTD! And Glee is pretty much amazing. Weird, but amazing!

  123. Kelly says:

I start my chugging a whole load of water. Then I extra moisturize and line my eyes with sonia k’s indigo liner curl the eyelashes mascara’ize and pop a little shimmer gold on the corners of the eyes. Finally, a swipe of red lips to brighten. Head out and pray for a nap @lunch!!!

    I RT @witty_kab

  124. Jennyfer H. says:

First, I do my normal face steps (cleanse, tonify, moisturize) and then I apply my “mac fast response eye cream”, with this, I look way more awake. 125. Pladies says:

what you do with your makeup when you look like you didnÒ€ℒt get enough sleep:

I hydrate my skin and under my eye area… I conceal everything. Use light colors on my eyes, eyeliner on my upper lashline if I am in the mood and if I have time. I avoid shimmer eyeshadows and pencil on my lower lashline and put on my lips a very bright lipstick !

  131. Sarah says:

When I don’t get enough sleep, I pile on MAC’s Nanogold for some brightening, then line my upperwaterline and put on extra mascara. And then go extra dark with my lipstick so that maybe my droopy red eyes are a little less noticeable.

  132. Amber says:

Honestly, I don’t really do anything. Just make sure I have on lots of concealer!

    Cute do by the way!

  133. When I look tired (um, like everyday!) I like to line my eyes with a very light eyeliner- usually in a nude or beige color. I use a shimmery pink-purple on the lid and a nice highlight on the brow…I also put concealer on the circles and I only use mascara on the top lashes. This brings attention to the top of my eye…not the gross blackholes under them!

I love the new hair cut & I am too am in love w/ Glee!!!!

Usually when I look tired it means I don’t have a lot of time! So my go to’s are always MAC’s Milk pigment from the Hello kitty collection. I work for Lush cosmetics so I always turn to my Enchanted Eye Cream (helps w/ bags!!!) then I apply Boing from benefit (miracle worker.) & I can’t walk outside the house w/o mascara so I put on some lash blash from covergirl πŸ™‚

Hope you have a good weekend!!

  142. LauraJ says:

I use a little blush for eyeshadow & put on tons of mascara. I try to skip the eyeliner if I look super tired because it just seems to accentuate the sleepy look

  143. tousledkitten says:

I cleanse and moisturise my skin well and allow the moisturiser to soak in before applying any make-up. I then apply a skin primer all over my face. I then blend a concealer slightly lighter than my skin-tone very well under my eyes, not using very much product to avoid it looking caked or obvious. I then apply powder all over my face to set the concealer and even out my skin-tone, blending well to avoid looking powdery. I then prime my eye-lids and put a light, peachy shade all over the lids to hide any discolouration and brighten up my eyes. I then apply a white eye-liner to my waterline to make my eyes look more awake. I then apply black mascara, usually waterproof if I’m all sleepy! I prime my lips with a moisturising treatment or lip balm and then put a pretty pink colour on them, gloss is quick and easy. I then apply a pretty pink blusher to my cheekbones, blending it up through my temples. This seems to make my face look much more awake and cheerful. If I have time I then blend a neutral colour into the crease of my eye, such as a soft matte brown, to make my eyes stand out a bit more.

  146. laur says:

I use some concealer under my eyes which I don’t normally do and I usually keep my lids neutral so they just look alittle bettter than nornmal without having a bunch of makeup up that can get smudge when i’m rubbing my eyes and yawning all day! lol

  147. Genesis C says:

    Hey Karen!
First off, LOVE the bangs! They look soo cute on you! As far as my no-sleep make up wear, today would be a prime example. I was up all night (literally) working on a huge paper for one of my classes. Finished at around 6:30 am this morning so I was definitely frazzled! I usually try to wash my face with a scrubbing facial wash so it’ll clear up my skin and make me look more alert (at least that’s what I like to think :D) , I’ll then put on concealer underneath my eyes, especially in the corners… I curl my lashes with my Sonia Kashuk curler (super inexpensive and AWESOME curl!) and then I’ll just put on a few coats of any mascara. Maybe a little pinkish blush, if I have the time .. If not some lipgloss and I am out the door!

  148. tar.gzip says:

When I look like I haven’t got enough sleep it is usually true, so I end up going the easier route: grab a neutral, *slightly* pearly beige eyeshadow (around one or 2 shades lighter than my complexion), pat it on my eyelids, my tearducts and a bit (light hand is important) under the lower eyelashes. Then I grab my most natural-looking mascara and give a bit of a boost to my lashes.

If I’m awake enough, I go a longer route: concealer, beige eyeshadow like described above and a dab pearly white just near the tearducts to give more light.

What I always do is grab a pair of pretty earrings, pretty hairpins and a colourful scarf. Distraction is the name of the game πŸ™‚

  149. ann marie says:

  152. Bevcita says:

  153. YadiQ says:

  155. Alison says:

  156. Kelly M says:

  157. Lisa says:

I figure why mask it and just go ahead and do a heavy lidded smudgy look and pretend I am a silent movie star : )

  158. alice says:

No amount of eye shadow can make me look rested. It just highlights my puffy lids. Highlighter above cheekbone, and under the brow bone, followed by a neutral blush helps. If I use bright blush I just look colored and tired. Afterwards, it’s just gallons of water, followed by gallons of coffee.

  159. Kristin says:

I always count on MAC Untitled Paint, BB Tinted Eye Brightener, MAC Beguile Brow Set, Mally Eye Light Setting Powder, and CG Lash Exact. Sounds like a lot, but always works to make me look bright-eyed!

  160. Yajaira says:

im still trying to figure that out, i try concealer but i have puffiness that doesnt go away…can it be the ramen i eat for lunch every day? maybe too much salt… either way i put on concealer and the crepiness under my eyes looks worse than before! help!

  161. nina says:

OMG karen! you cut your beautiful hair! it looks great now, but I loved your old look (I use the term “old” loosely!)

When I’m exhausted & running short on my beauty routine (well, as a busy student this is every other day), I make sure to clean my face very well & just spot concealer on my face (heavy face makeup tends to grease up when I’m stressed/tired), add a bit of brown eyeliner to the bottom of my eye lids, add a good amount of rosy blush and spend an extra 45 seconds on curling my eyelashes & putting on mascara to make me look awake!! i finish this quick beauty look with a pink gloss! I’m not calling it a ‘flawless’ look by any means, but it makes me look semi-decent in 5 minutes πŸ™‚

  162. GeriBerry says:

Highlighting my brow bone and inner eye with Benefit’s Eye Bright or the lightest color eyeshadow I can reach really opens up the eyes, and applying under eye concealer for my dark circles, of course. I’m at the last few drops of my Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting concealer, which works pretty well on me. I’m not sure if I want to buy another one or search for a new brand. If I am awake enough I’ll add a wash of shimmery peach eyeshadow to the mix. Curled lashes and a couple coats of mascara too… but I’m usually too sleepy to bother hehe πŸ™‚

  163. Concealer under the eyes (with a bit of yellow coloring) and then a little bit of shine (L’Oreal HIP in Restless) if I can handle it. : ) Then I put on some eyeshadow to pull out the green in my eyes (Almay trio for Greens) or maybe some shadow with a touch of pink. After that, bring on the coffee! And don’t check the mirror too often that day, lol.

  169. Katrina says:

Hi Karen, I love the new haircut – very cute! When I feel I haven’t gotten enough sleep I use white eyeliner on my bottom waterline, then I skip any dark eyeliner on top and use Stila’s kitten for shadow, followed by mascara. I use MAC’s fast response eye cream, then swipe their eyeliner in Buttery along the bottom waterline. Since I’m a woman of color, the off-white, creamy color of buttery works better than a stark white liner.

If I’m lookin a lil tired, I like to use a brightening concealer under my eyes and usually a golden colored eyeshadow on my lids, like Stilla’s Sun. Then, I will lightly line my lower lash lines to give them some definition, and add some flesh colored liner on my waterline – but no liner on top. Then, I like to use a lengthening mascara to really make my lashes pop and make me look awake!

  187. Erin says:

I’ve been using my trick a lot as my life is very hectic! Full time job and fiance who has a chronic illness make me get maybe 5 hours of sleep a night! ugh! I actually use white eyeliner and eye shadow. It really makes your eyes look wider and brighter. I also make sure to use some around my tear ducts. Even my fiance who knows nothing about makeup was like, ‘wow, you look so bright eyed and awake!” I also make sure to use Covergirl exact eyelights mascara because it brings out my brown eyes. This trick works every single time!

  189. Glosslizard says:

I like to blend a little bit of Benefit’s Ooh La Lift with my concealer under the eye and use MAC paint pot in Painterly from lash-line to brow line before putting on shadow. 194. Caitriona says:

It really makes a difference when I’m tired to use MAC shadestick Lemon Chiffon; it’s a silvery creamy yellow that wakes my eyes up. Then I’ll apply No.7 eyeshadow in Wheatsheaf on top, which is a pale shimmery beige. After white eyeliner, loads of Touche Eclat, and Dior Iconic, I’m good to go!

Love the blog, especially your perfect grammar! =)

    I curl my eyelashes!

  201. Emily C. says:

LOVE the new haircut. I want to get a style similar to that for my hair tooooo.

When I don’t get enough sleep, I layer my concealers to ensure that I have as little under-eyeness as possible, then use a brighter neutral tone to draw the attention away, with lots of mascara. Can’t use purples/blues/aquas or you will look like a racoon.

    Love the blog.

  202. Lisa S. says:

I use a product that you can’t find anymore. It was made my neutrogena, It was a cream to powder eyeshadow in a tube. I can’t even remember the name anymore. All I know is I bought 5
tubes before it was discontinued. It is a pinky, rosy, color with just a bit of gold glimmer. If I was at home I could tell you the name. It is perfect for those tired days. I use just a bit of brown
liner on the upper lid and a bit of creamy concealer under my eyes. And lots of mascara on my upper lashes, not so much on my lower. (I need definition, not more shadow).

  203. Nathalie says:

I would use Benefit’s Ohh La Lift which gets rid of any puffyness around the eye area, add a bit of concealer and some white shimmery eyeshadow in the inner corner of the eye.

  210. Amy says:

When I don’t get enough sleep, I brighten my eyes by drinking a lot of water and then use Smashbox’s under eye brightener and Visine…if it’s really bad, I will steep some tea with caffeine, then pop it in the freezer a bit and place on my eyes for 10mins (or if I don’t have tea, I use two stainless steel spoons and freeze them, then place them on eye area for 10mins (eyes closed for both procedures of course). Then when applying makeup, I don’t use bright light colors because they bring out the redness in my eyes, I use smokey colors from my lash line just up to the crease, and white eyeliner in water line. Does wonders!

  211. Mel says:

when I look super tired, i use benefit birthday suit on my lids and fresh twilight glow on the inner corner of my eyes and on my browbone. i also highlight my cheek bones and use a little bit of benefit dandelion – it’s just enough pink so that i look refreshed and not feverish.

  212. Misti says:

Mascara, a bright lipstick and a smile. Also, my glasses that hide more of my eyes! lol

    P. S. your new haircut/style is amazing! It accentuates your features and doesn’t weigh down your face. You look great!

  215. Stephanie says:

I use concealer to cover up any dark circles, line the bottom of my eyes with white eyeliner, dab a little pearly cream eyeshadow on the inner corner of my eyes, and curl my lashes. All these help make my eyes look bigger and makes me look more alert. (:

  216. Ve says:

I use an eyeshadow by Rimmel that is very close in color to the golden brown shade in the Kalahari duo and a semi-white eyeliner on the bottom. Then I make sure my eyelashes are SUPER curled and pack on mascara. The white eyeliner really makes my eyes pop and look larger, thats my must – have accessory, no matter the time of year.

  221. Patty says:

I really like you new hair – fresh and fun!

I have dark circles so I go a little heavy on concealer and stay away from dark colors especially blues/purples. I usually go with Kitten by Stila or MAC Woodwinked to brighten me up and make me look awake. I also use a matte white under my eyes near the outer corner

  225. Barbara says:

I use concealer, a light shimmery wash of shadow , benefit´s highbrow and of course eyelash curler, that´s it!

  226. Megan says:

    – I use ELF Studio Eyeliner and Show Stick in Glow/Pearl and line the top part of my eyelids

    – third comes my MAC Concealer for the under eye area
    – fourth is the CG lash blast mascara
    – then I use the maybelline mineral foundation on forehead and cheeks
    – and finally, I apply a light blush

  230. LizKS48 says:

  231. Anisha says:

concealer is a must, along with a more shimmery eyeshadow and white eyeliner on my waterline. although nothing can replace beauty sleep, this works for me pretty well

  232. Lindsay says:

Kat Von D’s Tattoo Concealer and navy blue eyeliner on my waterline (I think I read somewhere that it helps make your eyes look whiter? maybe it’s all in my head lol…), gold eyeliner layered under brown for the rest of my eye (since black is too harsh on those days!) plus mascara and some Nars Orgasm blush to give me some color πŸ™‚ and bam out the door! This is all too often for me. I feel like I never get enough sleep!!

  233. Janet says:

I dab a bright highlighter in the inside corners of my eyes and put some Benefit Powderphlage under my eyes ot brighten that up too!

  234. Kerry says:

  243. T says:

No makeup used. I just put a bag over my head or hibernate in my house until I get my much needed beauty sleep. πŸ™‚

  244. Elizabeth says:

  245. Monica says:

I definitely use more eye cream and concealer on mornings when I feel wiped out, and then I typically choose a gentle beige type of shadow and lots and lots of black mascara.

  246. Danielle says:

  251. Jenny says:

I would conceal any imperfections, under eye bags, etc. Then I would use a brighter, vibrant off white frosty color to brighten the inner corners of my tear ducts & 2/3 of the lids. Then would contrast the depths of the outer V with a darker shade of my liking that day depending on mood. Follow by eyeliner, mascara, maybe simple falsies would wake up the eye a bit πŸ™‚ Bronze up the face a bit, highlight here and there, shape the brows, and all the other face routine you may desire. All done! πŸ˜‰

  252. Basak says:

Hi Karen! Thank you for the “good luck” in Turkish πŸ™‚ I start with Laura Mercier’s Secret camouflage under my eyes. I then use Rubenesque paint pot on my lids and top it with with Stila Kitten on the inside corners, a darker brown at the outer corners and blend the crease by Soft Brown. Smudged brown kohl pencil as eyeliner. Then a peach blush and bronzer. I also try not being grumpy πŸ™‚

  253. Shannon says:

I rarely have bad dark circles, but when I do, I’ll use a little bit of foundation that’s just a *bit* too orange for normal use. The slight orangey color combats the purple under my eyes, and makes me look like I got a full night’s sleep, lol. πŸ™‚

  254. Lisa says:

I use a light cream-colored eyeshadow (matte or shimmery) in the inner corner and browbone.

  255. Jule says:

  256. Olivia says:

I layer on the concealer, skip any harsh liner (though sometimes I pop Urban Decay in Yeyo on my waterline), add a shimmer light neutral on my lid (I love All that Glitters), and mascara on the top lashes only. Ta Da!

Somehow simply applying mascara always perks me up!

Hey Karen! I love your new hair do’! Thanks for the giveway!
When I dont get enough sleep (it happens a lot) I first wash my face with clinique 3 step skin care system (which i love!), then i let the moisturizer kick in. after that i prime my face with smashbox photo finish, and stipple in my mac studio fix fluid for a face that doesnt look all red. then i conceaal my dark circles with cover blend (which brightes my eyes up so much) then i use a white eyeliner on my waterline, usually nyx pencil in white (it is so smooth). after that i prime my eyes with urban decay primer potion. then put mac paint pot in rubenesque. then on the lid i put on mac honey lust, then put on a darker color toards the outer V, usually amber lights by mac, and in the crease, a dark bronze color, usually macs bronze. then i put a shimmery white/ champane color in my inner tear ducts and browbone to brighten my eyes up. then i put on mac fluid line in black track on my upper lashline, and mac kohl pwer eyeliner in feline on my tight line (sometimes). then use estee lauders eyebrow pencil to fill in my brows! Then finish it off with ysl golden gloss, and nars orgasm on my cheaks! it brightens my face up a whole lot! πŸ™‚

  268. Vickie says:

Curl my lashes two coat of mascara, a bright pink blush to warm up my face, and lip balm.

  277. Natalia says:

I touch it up a bit more with concealer and highlight my inner corners with a light colored shadow AND I also apply a nude eyeliner to my waterline to make my eyes pop up even more, instead of white so it looks a lot more natural.

When I don’t get enough sleep, concealer is my best friend! To cover those nasty dark circles, I use MAC Studio Finish Concealer (melted a bit with a blow dryer to make application easier). Then set it with a brightening powder or a matte white-ish colored eyeshadow like MAC’s Blanc Type (actually that is a Matte²).

  284. Sarah V says:

I tend to go lighter on the makeup, especially since my eyes are irritated when I don’t get enough sleep. Mostly I do some champagne colored eyeshadow and a little mascara. It makes me look much more alive.

  285. Thais says:

If I don’t get enough sleep, I feel like the simpler and cleaner my eye make up is, the better. So I just put a bit of Stila Kitten smudge pot on the lid, and that is it. But what REALLY helps me look fresh and awake is to make my lashes all curly, long and flirty. I have super straight lashes (I mean, flat iron- straight eyelashes!!!!) so my magic potion is to curl them right at the base and then apply a coat of Shiseido Lasting Lift mascara. This is the one and only mascara that holds the curl on my lashes without a primer, and it also makes the lashes long and well defined. LOVE IT.

  286. Susie Guttman says:

  287. Gracie says:

I always look like I didn’t get enough sleep even if I slept for 10 hours because I have permanent dark circles.. so I dont do anything special other than using concealer under my eyes and using a good blush for a healthy glow. That draws the attention away from my eyes, i hope!

When I don’t get enough sleep (which is often; oh, the joy of being an IB student!), I use a skin-toned eyeshadow with shimmer, which brightens up my eyes considerably. If I have puffy eyes, usually I wear glasses to hide them, since I don’t want to sacrifice sleep to look like I didn’t sleep lol. πŸ™‚ The rest of my face is usually okay to go natural with, but if I look particularly icky, I use a bit of Benefit’s BadGal brightening face primer in problem areas with some Bareminerals on top.

    it really works (:
    thanks for the giveaway !

  303. Bomi says:

I use my concealer and cream foundation to cover any circles or blemishes then use a pasty white cream shadow to highlight the ball of my eyes and my browbone. I also hilight the area right about the eyebrows. It helps give depth because my face is sort of flat (ahaha…) and putting on too much concealer and foundation makes my face looks 2-D because you can’t see any shadows. :]

  304. Apple says:

I wear Benefit’s Bright Eyes to make my eyes look all sparkly even without sleep. πŸ™‚

  305. Christy says:

Concealer is a definite must! When I am  super dead tired, my undereye circles become even more pronounced than ever so I spackle on that concealer! I use an all over wash of the eyeshadow Sahara from the Sephora natural palette, curl my eyelashes, and give it a good lashing of Cover Girl LashBlast. Lastly, a pop of Urban Decay Quickie blush to give me that pop of ‘oh! I am SO TOTALLY AWAKE’ colour and voilà! I am awake, or so you may think.

  306. Brittany says:

Oh man…where to begin. I wear a lighter shade washed all over the lid, I use a lighter eye liner, usually brown instead of black, and I only line the top of the eye. A light brush of mascara is also key for me.

  307. Rhiannon says:

I use MAC concealor, line my wetline with white, curl my lashes and put on mascara

  308. Patrice says:

I wear lighter eye shadows and make my lips bright and shiny.

  309. Kasey says:

I use a Lancome eyeshadow in a color called “drape.” It’s a sheer white but it really makes my eyes look brighter!
    .-= Kasey’s last blog post… Update =-.

  310. Jessie says:

I wear a bit of gold eyeshadow, white eyeliner in the inner corner and on the waterline, and mascara. For the face I keep my cheeks rosy and for the lips probably just a bit of lipgloss.

  311. Laura says:

When I don’t get enough sleep I use concealer to cover my dark circles and a shimmery beige eyeshadow to brighten up my eyes. I also curl my lashes and apply mascara so that my eyes look a little more open and awake. If I have time I’ll put on some pink blush and a sheer lipgloss.

  312. Mimi S says:

When I look like I don’t get enough sleep (every morning) i use a beige or honey eyeshadow on my lids to wake up my eyes.

  313. jessica says:

concealer, eye brightener, visine, and a grande caramel macchiato! nothing beats beauty sleep though. =)

  314. peach says:

concealer under the eyes and a thick line of liquid eyeliner with curled eyelashes to make me look a little bit more… awake!

  315. karlenma says:

i usually don’t get enough sleep so concealer’s one of my staples and mascara

I always go for the golds!! I use my Stila kitten smudgepot in the inner corners of my eyes!
My afternoon has been terrible, lots of crying and wanting to reverse time!!

  318. nicole says:

When it looks like I don’t get enough sleep, I use some concealer in the under eye area and white liner on the waterline, curled eye lashes and a couple of coats of mascara.
I usually add a peachy or pinky blush to brighten up my face and give me a *fresh* look πŸ™‚

  319. Melissa says:

I never get enough sleep! πŸ™‚ I swear by Benefit’s Eye Bright. I use it on my waterline and on the brow bone, make sure to do my brows with Smashbox brow tech, wear mascara, and use Benefit creaseless cream shadow in Recess. It is a creamy neutral color on me, and I apply it from lash to brow. It helps me look more awake and evens out discoloration, without drawing attention or making tiredness look worse. Definitely great ways to fake a good night’s sleep!

  320. Erica says:

when I havent had enough sleep I avoid mirrors at all costs. I usually just touch up concealer, but without sleep I hardly care if my face looks busted. πŸ™‚ Hence why I give myself plenty of sleep!!

  321. Natalie says:

I usually use a shimmery color on my tear ducts, like MAC’s Dazzlelight, and line my waterline with Rest Assured by Tarte. I also make sure to use a bright pink blush to warm up my complexion!

  322. Cindi says:

Happy Holidays! I like to use Chanel’s Quick Cover for undereye dark circles.
    Many thanks, Cindi

  323. Tina says:

I’ll wear my cream MAC concealer, and Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow pots in Recess (light-natural color) and MAC’s Prussian powerpoint eye pencil to make my brown eyes pop! A layer of mascara.

  325. Yao says:

When I don’t get enough sleep, which is often thee days as the semester winds down, I use cover-up under my eyes and only mascara and a bright lipgloss. I figure minimal make-up and some color will distract people from how tired my eyes look!

  326. Oraiba says:

I like using an NW shade to conceal undereye circles on a bad day because I’m probably not in the mood to touch up on it every couple of hours. An NW shade manages to conceal until it fades unlike an NC which can start looking cakey if you don’t maintain it. I also like using a lengthening mascara instead of a voluminizing one.

  327. helenlam says:

I like to put on a little bit of blush, swipe on some foundation under the eyes as concealer and top with gloss on the lips

  328. Amber says:

a concealer and white kohl eye pencil does the trick for me!

  329. Mia says:

Currently I use Dior Skinflash to give me an awake look. But still the same like a lot of sleep πŸ˜‰

  330. Phoi says:

Hi Karen! I don’t usually get a lot of sleep, and even when I do I have genetically dark and puffy under-eyes, so I always need concealer. I use MAC’s studio sculpt concealer. Then I use NYX’s jumbo pencil in Cottage Cheese (a shimmery white) to highlight the inner corners of my eyes. I curl my lashes and apply mascara to open up my eyes and give the appearance of bigger and brighter eyes.

  331. Julie says:

i soak two cotton balls in iced camomile tea, leave it on for 5 minutes, then YSL touche eclat on darkest part of dark circles and inner corners, mac studio sculpt concealer, make up forever smoky lash mascara,a little bit of white eyeshadow in the inner corners and brow bone and finally mac russian red lipstick to draw attention off my eyes to my lips

  332. Jill says:

I use concealer under my eyes and line my lower waterline with my white mac kohl pencil. And I try to stay neutral with the makeup on my eyelids by using mac vanilla as a base color and a light taupe or brown to define the crease.

P.S. I love that you said “good luck” in Turkish! =) Where did you learn it?

  333. Jessica P says:

I use benefit eyecon under my eyes and then put some of my urban decay 24/7 over on em. Well usually the concealer then the benefit.

  334. Aslıgül says:

woow i’ve been looking for kalahari but its all sold out in Ä°stanbul πŸ™

So here is my hint: YSL Tuche Eclat and a shimmery soft white or Nars ashes to ashes (depends on the mood) on the lids with a volumizing mascara.

    Ä°yi Γ…ΕΎanslar !!! :)))))

  335. Aniroc says:

Love the new doo, Karen! You rock bangs, girl.

When I haven’t gotten enough sleep, concealer is my best friend. Then I make sure that apply highlights to other areas of my face to draw attention away from my eyes if they’re looking heavy and dark still.

  336. brittany says:

    LM brightening powder!

  337. Jenn says:

I keep it simple. I use simple matte, nude shadows, mascara and skip eyeliner altogether. It keeps my eyes more “open” looking. Concealer is a life saver too πŸ™‚

  338. Krystle says:

I’ll apply bare study p/p all over my lid, curl my lashes and add mascara, and use concealer under my eyes.

  339. Caren says:

Visine, then concealer and neutral eye shadow with brown eyeliner. Then on to liquid foundation on my face and cream blush on my cheeks for a rosy glow, and finally, a nicely defined lip with natural liner and a medium intensity lipstick. Nothing says “all nighter” more than red eyes, pasty skin and colorless lips.

  340. Kailey says:

When I don’t get enough sleep (which is quite often, I have a 9 month old, haha!) I use either MAC Fascinating Eye Kohl, or Stila’s Kajal eyeliner in Topaz. Those babies are my lifesavers!

  341. afroditagirl says:

the concealer will be my best friend πŸ˜‰ I retwitt @afroditagirl

  342. Rosemary says:

I first conceal my under eyes then brighten my them by using a light shimmery shade on my lid; this also helps make my eyes look bigger since mine are somewhat small. I also use a flesh colored eyeliner on my waterline and a shadow that’ll make the inner corner of my eyes pop.

  343. Jaime says:

Hi Karen! Love, love love the new hairdo!

When I’m tired (which is all the time, as I have 2 jobs right now), I use Patricia Wexler’s eye de-puff gel – it really gets rid of the puffy eyes fast. I could use this duo though – to put over top of the gel – it seems like it would be a better eye brightener than the shadow I’m using now. Thanks for doing the giveaway! πŸ™‚

  344. Megan **** says:

Wow, this post sure did rack up a lot of comments! Lol. Unfortunately, I *ALWAYS* look like I didn’t get enough sleep. Whether I get 2 hours or 12 hours of sleep, I have some mean looking dark circles under my eyes. I use the MAC eye cream & the little tube of concealer from MAC under my eyes. Then I use a pretty shimmer on my lids with a light, neutral brown in the crease. I still look a little sleepy, but it’s better than my Zombie eyes I was naturally cursed with..

I am going to have to try that Origins GinZing eyecream soon to see if it helps me out any.

  345. Hazel says:

I don’t use eye cream because my lids are oily πŸ™
What I do is brush my brows, curl my lashes, highlight under brow bone, inner corners, and top of cheeks (even though it makes me look oily then I already am :P), put a coat of mascara on, sometimes I’ll put eyeliner, put a little blush on, then use a tinted lip balm πŸ™‚

This is a lot for some people! LOL

Thanks again for another great giveaway! I don’t have good neutral eyeshadow so this would be perfect for me~

    I retweeted too πŸ˜€

Hey Karen! Please enter me into the drawing.
I use bobbi brown concealer under my eyes and I use the built in powder underneath to make my eyes seem more open. I also use one of my MAC matte e/s colors in light beige or brown family and then a highlight color in my crease and then presto! That’s all it takes. I like to use gloss to finish the look up. Mwah!!!

  348. styleezta says:

  349. kumru says:

for crying out loud am I late? I have no idea about your time matching ours!!! well as far as the question is concerned I only use some powder and a little bit of blush. makeup doesn’t look good on me if I didn’t get enough sleep plus just-got-out-of-bed is a favorite look of mine πŸ™‚

  350. martan says:

    Lots of concelear and mascara.

  351. Caitlin says:

Whenever I look like I haven’t got enough sleep I tend to pile on concealer around my eyes and then I usually stick to light eyeshadows ( my favorite is urban decay midnight cowboy).

  352. Winnie says:

I use my Physician’s Formula light concealer stick underneath my eyes, a nice pink eyeshadow quad from Lancome to brighten up my lids and NARS orgasm/laguna blush/bronzer on my cheeks and face to look more alive =D. Happy Holidays~!

  353. Beckie says:

When I’m late, and I look like all hell, I exfoliate the crap out of my face, tone, moisturize to brighten, and put a thin layer of cell food for skin on my face to tighten skin and de-puff eyes. I go light with the makeup, just a bit of rosey blush, and make sure to swip either studio 54 white glitter eyeliner in the waterline, and blackout mascara by Dior, to make eyes pop, a little Dazzleglass and whalah! Fresh awake look. Even though I still feel like crap, I don’t have to look it!

  354. Michelle says:

I put my eye makeup and cream in the fridge so it goes on COLD. Helps me look more awake! THANKS!

I use concealer and try to use more mascara or a darker lipstick to try to take people eyes to my lips not my eyes

  356. Lesley says:

I use an orangey-pink blush – such as NARS Orgasm or MAC Springsheen – it gives my face a glow that makes me look awake and ready to go!

  357. Dawn H. says:

I just use extra concealer in hopes that will perk my look up a bit!!

  359. Paulin Kata says:

I use Armani corrector in the reddish shade, topped by Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer and Secret Camouflage powder on top.

  360. kimberly lageman says:

I like to use bright colors when I haven’t had enough sleep…it’s the makeup version of “Look over there …it’s Elvis!”… one notices the bags and circles when I wear purple or green eyeliner/eyeshadow.

  361. Connie says:

I use concealer, a peach liner on my waterline, light shimmery eyeshadow, and mascara on curled lashes.

  362. Daria says:

I use a sweep of powered mineral concealer under my eyes to hide any discoloration without highlighting them too much. Follow that with a generous sweep of Bare Escentuals eyecolor in Nude Beach from lash line into crease, with a fade up into the brow bone. I use a liquid eyeliner on just the top lashes and wing it out. This way I avoid any potential flakes or over the day smudgy-ness that might settle into under eye circles, plus the line is so clean and dramatic that one focuses more on the top part of my eyes than my tell-tale puffy under eye. Finally, I use LashBlast in sparkly navy blue mostly on upper lashes to keep the focus on the top part of my eye, and the blue helps keeps my eyes looking bright ! To finish the look I put on peachy blush and either go with naked lips or just chapstick to go for an over all fresh, easy going look.

  363. Corinne says:

I wear concealer under my eyes and white eyeliner on my water line

  364. Marisa Lopez says:

when i didnt get enough sleep i put brighter eyeshadow on or more makeup.

  365. Evian says:

When I am lacking on sleep I usually use a light gold eyeshadow with a bronze eyeliner. I avoid dark colored eyeshadow or eyeliner to keep my eyes from looking too heavy.

  366. Kayte CookWatts says:

Usually I do something with a little glimmer to put the focus on my skin., and keep the eye makeup rather minimal so I don’t draw attention to the bags.Chugging endless cups of coffee also helps.

  367. Celine says:

Anything light and shimmery like kitten eyeshadow or golds! Really brightens the eyes. But first, I start out with the Garnier caffeine roll on for the eyes, it eliminates excess puffiness.

  368. Ashwini says:

I brighten my dark circles with MAC select cover up (not amazing tho), and also throw some concealor all over my eyelids, which makes a HUGE difference. Then, I place a pinky shimmery color all over the lid, highlight my browbone, and pile on the mascara. A pretty gloss and baby pink cheek color also takes attention away from my dark circles.
