3 Reasons I Fell in Love With Tom Ford Beauty Pink Haze Cream Color for Eyes

May 7th, 2013 by Karen 27 Comments

Tom Ford Beauty Pink Haze
I’m in a Pink Haze…wearing Tom Ford Beauty Pink Haze Cream Color for Eyes, $40

I’ve got it bad for rose gold! — and Tom Ford Beauty’s $40 Pink Haze Cream Color for Eyes is fanning the flames of my desire…

Tom Ford Pink Haze

How much do I love thee, oh peachy pink prince of a cream eye shadow with golden pearl?

Let me count the ways…

1. You’re flawless

Like Escapade, your limited edition Cream Color comrade in Tom Ford’s summer 2013 collection, lightweight Pink Haze glides along skin like an ice cube across glass, and the mousse formula lasts longer than a Duracell (easily all day) — no patchiness, creases or fading, even when worn without primer.

2. So flexible

Oh, the many ways to wear it… When I want that ’57 Chevy chrome-like shine but don’t want my makeup looking caked on or heavy, I’ll just layer Pink Haze. But if instead I crave a softer look, I’ll buff and buff until I’m left with a peachy pink golden sheen. And then there’s its power to work as a base for powder eye shadows, where it also excels, especially when it comes to peaches, purples, pinks, bronze and gold.

3. Flattery will get you everywhere…

Yes, it lavishes praise, particularly upon tans, or if you wear golds, pinks and corals well.

Pink Haze is even a conversation starter. Every time I’ve worn it on my lids, at least one person has stopped to ask me what I’m wearing. 🙂

The premium price doesn’t thrill, but I can see myself scraping the bottle clean.

I don’t think you can really go wrong with either Cream Color from Tom Ford’s summer collection, but if you’re trying to decide between Pink Haze and Escapade…I’d go with Pink Haze if you’re feeling bold and Escapade if you’re feeling casual.

PRICE: $40 (YARGH!)
AVAILABILITY: Limited edition, available now at Tom Ford counters (may also be available online at neimanmarcus.com)
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+

As the Tuesday turns…

Just got back from a hot date with my treadmill (he only talked about himself), and now I’m looking forward to watching an episode of Scandal.

I’m almost finished with season 2 now (watching on Amazon On Demand), and the sh*t has officially hit the fan! The cheesy factor/force is strong in this one…but that’s half the fun, right?

What are you up to? 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Wow, now this is surprising! A pink like this usually isn’t too nice on warm toned skins but you get away with it really nicely! Glad to hear that the formula is great, the price is a bit scary but oh well :). I love that pretty shine it give, it’s different from most cream shadows.

I haven’t tried a Tom Ford cream color, but out of the two I might prefer Escapade! Pink Haze looks great on you! I can see why people ask about it! I think I can do SOME pink on my lids, but I’ve never thought of expanding that part of my collection because I’m not as into pinks as I’m into other shades 😉

I’m wondering if there’s any dupes for this in the drugstore cream shadow ranges?

Oh, this is gorgeous. I almost never wear shadow, as you know, but as summer is nearing, I sometimes wear highlighter on my lids for a little extra glow (got Benefit’s Watt’s Up as a b’day gift from Sephora, so that’s been the go-to). 🙂

      Hi Kim,

How are you liking Watt’s Up?

So. Lids. This shade (or Escapade) couldn’t be any easier. You could easily skip a brush AND primer. Add your YSL Faux Cils and you’ll be the sassiest coach on the field. 😀

I hear you – I’m really eying Escapade. The whole line is gorgeous, actually. 🙂

I think Watt’s Up is pretty subtle but I like that it’s easy (tube/lipstick format and can be easily blended with fingers). The wear time also seems good. I wear it on top of Pro Prime, though, so that makes everything last! Most importantly, it adds a little glow but doesn’t live in my fine lines like High Beam did. And it was free, so… rating it an A? 🙂

      Hi Paula,

You could probably do it, although it might pull a little orange on you. Did you see the other cream shadow, Escapade? You could easily work that one, I think.

Argh Tom Ford why is your formula so fantastic but the color selection so bland?! And yet I’m making grabby hands at my screen? Damn you eyeshadow addiction!

The equivalent drugstore color I’ve found (sticking to the eyeshadow creme requirement) is Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow in Inked in Pink. The pink was a tad too frosty for me but it really brightens the eye.

Ok perhaps I was a bit rash yesterday when I said I didn’t want this one. Wow it’s so pretty on you! It’s definitely not JUST another shimmery pink cream shadow like I originally thought. I love that it’s a bit deeper–more light-medium than light. And the rose gold shade is just beautiful! I might have to finally make a pit stop at the TF counter this weekend…:P

    Hi Karen,

This is beautiful on you! I’ve got some on the way to me and am wondering what brush you use to apply the product and to blend it out since its a new texture for me?

      Hi Amy,

The great thing about this product is that it’s SO easy to apply. You can use fingers (which is what I do if I’m in a hurry), or apply with a flat brush like the MAC 239. I usually like to buff out the edges with a domed fluffy brush like the MAC 217. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I hope you love this! It’s pricey but wonderful. I wanted to wear it today but had to test some other stuff out, LOL!
