It’s a Pleasure to Kiss These Bold Brights: The Dolce & Gabbana Passion Duos Summer Pleasures Collection

August 2nd, 2012 by Karen 21 Comments

Should you ever find yourself under doctor’s orders to refrain from wearing eye makeup “for a day or two” while your allergies subside, and you’re kind of a beauty nerd, you may also find yourself debating whether filling in your brows constitutes “eye makeup.”

I came to the conclusion that it does not… 🙂

I KNOW! But I couldn’t resist doing at least a little something.

My eyes don’t seem to mind, and they’re certainly enjoying gazing at three of the bright, shiny lipsticks from the new Dolce & Gabbana Summer Pleasures collection.

These $34 beauties, three of 10 new Passion Duo Gloss Fusion Lipsticks, are available now at Saks stores and saksfifthavenue.com (there are also five Nail Lacquers in the collection priced at $20 each).

The 10 new shades range from summery, soft nudes to bold, glamorous brights.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Gloss Fusion Lipsticks are among my favorite products in the entire line. Each has a shiny, moisture-filled core of gloss wrapped in a rich coat of pigmented lipstick.

I remember when they first made a splash on Dolce & Gabbana counters… Oh, the intense colors, the high-gloss finish, the texture so smooth it would give Ryan Gosling a run for his money.

As for the three new colors I’ve been ogling this morning? Just as fab. 🙂

Flirty and fun Exotic 50 is my favorite of these. I mean, how do I say no to a hot pink lipstick? That may be something I’m physically incapable of doing…

Vivid orange Tropical 140 runs a close second. I can see it going well with tropical print maxi-dresses, beautiful beach resorts and yummy umbrella drinks.

Like the Passion Duos in the permanent line, these also have a light rose flavor and scent, and a super moisturizing, non-sticky formula. So much fun — especially if you want to play up your lips.

You’re almost there!

This week has been a little challenging so far, and I think even Tabs can’t wait for the weekend.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

It looks almost edible :-/ Doesn’t look quite right to me. The swatches are a bit too bright for my taste (ha-ha :-p) too.

What a cute picture of Tabs!

Tropical 140 is gorgeous! And I would have filled in my brows too, no one needs to see me without my brows filled in…

LOVE Tropical and Exotic! I love me some pigmented lipsticks (pigmented ANYTHING, really :p) and these two shades really speak to me… They’re saying: “buy me now, Dani. BUY ME NOW!”

    *sigh*

These look special with the core of gloss there, I also loooove the shades especially the pink one! They are so pigmented too, I thought they would be more sheer because of the gloss but yaaay what a pleasant surprise! 🙂

They’re very pigmented and bright, but I don’t know, this glossy core… it looks weird. Kind of like a gimmicky cheap drugstore product, you know?

These are pretty, but for some reason I thought they would look shinier or glossier because of the core? It just looks like any other lipstick finish…they’re nice, but not $34 worth of nice, in my opinion :/

    Hi Karen!
I was wondering if these are in texture comparable to the Estee Lauder lipsticks? I’m nearly done with my tube of Rose Envy and they discontinued the colour… Pout. So I’m in the market for something that is a lipstick but feels like a balm…

Lovely colors. I loved the purple one as it spells F.A.L.L and is a great color to go with pale flawless skin and neutral eyes. Planning to incorporate such black currant colors in my upcoming photoshoots…it adds mysticism to the look though!

Just found these lipsticks a bit expensive although it maybe hard to find dupes!

They are lovely! One of my favourite lipstick formulas. I really loved Fatale, one of the new shades. It’s a beautiful strawberry red 🙂
