I don’t use it often, but got some for Christmas so this is timely information. I hardly ever use blush b/c I have roseacea and my face is always red in the cheek area anyway so using blush seems silly. I’m hoping the bronzer could help draw attention away from the redness. Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 9:21 am Hi Katee, You’re welcome. Do you usually wear bronzer? Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 9:22 am Hi Bethany, Oh great! What kind of bronzer did you get? If powder bronzer doesn’t work there’s always other forms to try, like gel or liquid. 🙂 Reply Glosslizard says: January 10th, 2009 at 9:25 am I liked the video! I’m going to try that technique today and top off the cheekbones with my new Blonde MSF! Have a great Saturday! Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 9:26 am Hi Glosslizard, Oh nice! What other stuff did you snag from BBR? I ended up getting the Brunette MSF (sooooo much coral goodness!). Reply Ellery says: January 10th, 2009 at 9:44 am Thanks for the tip. I’m gonna try it out, I stopped wearing bronzer because it made me look dirty! Reply Glosslizard says: January 10th, 2009 at 10:02 am I got the MSF, Strawberry Blonde lipglass (LOVE!) and eyeshadows in Knight and Pincurl. I really liked the Blonde line overall, because it was almost an extension of the Chill collection which I loved, but thought was a bit underpopulated! 🙂 So now I have all the fixin’s for a wonderful wintry gray eye with pink cheeks and lips! Yay! Reply Adriana says: January 10th, 2009 at 10:29 am oh wow!!! talk about an eye opener, I had no idea bronzer was supposed to be applied this way. Thanks so much! Reply Vanessa H says: January 10th, 2009 at 10:54 am Happy Saturday! Thanks for the video! Can you please do a tutorial on how to use highlighter? I want a soft glow, but I don’t know exactly were to use the highlighter. Thanks Karen! Reply Michelle says: January 10th, 2009 at 11:55 am Yeah I read about that method in a magazine, they referred to it as the letter E method, or something like that. I had no idea what they were talking about, your video really helps. Thanks Karen! Reply Stephie says: January 10th, 2009 at 12:13 pm Great vid. Nice way to start off a slow morning. 😛 I love bronzer. I use it all year round, it really does give that extra friendly glow to my face. Reply Leeng says: January 10th, 2009 at 1:29 pm Karen, Thank you so much! I have been wearing bronzer incorrectly and wondering why the heck it didn’t look good on me. Your way is perfect – it adds sun kissed shade in the right places and slims my face at the same time. Reply nai says: January 10th, 2009 at 1:40 pm aloha, karen! just watched this video along with some of the others you posted (shopping cart was a hoot!). thanks for the great make up tips. however, what really shined was your great public speaking ability! i took a public speaking course two summers ago and the most difficult assignment was to record myself doing a ten minute presentation and then post it on the class website. i had to do so many retakes due to forgetting where i was or saying “um” too many times. by the time i did the final version, my voice was so hoarse and i felt emotionally tired. do you do your vids in just one shot, and do you obsess about making it perfect before posting? –nai Reply Brittany says: January 10th, 2009 at 1:41 pm I never realized that’s how you’re supposed to apply bronzer. I just bought some from Benefit the other day and got it in the mail yesterday, now I’m anxious to try out this method and see how it works! Reply Tiffany says: January 10th, 2009 at 2:37 pm I just watched all your videos and they are so cute! You have such a pretty voice! I especially like the shopping cart vid – you should do one for the sprinkler, LOL! Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:44 pm Hi Ellery, Hmm, maybe the shade you were using was too dark or too matte? If you don’t like powder there’s always gels and stick bronzer, too. Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:44 pm Hi Glosslizard, Oh, lovely! You are so lucky that you can pull off the gray eye looks. I have the hardest time with those. Knight is a really pretty color in person! Love the glitter flecks in it. I bet it would be pretty applied wet as a liner, oh la la. Hope you got the chance to get out and enjoy this lovely weather! Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:44 pm Hi Adriana, You’re welcome! There are few different methods and this is just one of ’em. 🙂 I hope it helps! Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:45 pm Hi Vanessa H., Happy Saturday to you, too! Sure, I can do a video on highlighters. Am writing that down on my list of things to do… Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:45 pm Hi Michelle, You’re welcome! Yeah, it’s one of those things that’s easier to “translate” if you see it in person. Do you have a favorite bronzer? Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:45 pm Hi Stephie, Thanks! I am a recent bronzer convert. It really does make a difference. 🙂 Do you have a favorite one? Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:45 pm Hi Leeng, Yay! Glad to help. 🙂 Do you have the 187? It makes it a huge difference, I think. Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:46 pm Hi Nai, Aloha! 🙂 That’s fantastic that you took a public speaking class. I bet you learned lots of skills that’ll come in handy in the future! Regarding the videos, I do a few takes and then just pick the one that’s the least goofy, LOL. I have a background in drama and public speaking, which also helps, too. Hope you’re having a great weekend so far! Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:46 pm Hi Brittany, Oh sweet! Did you get Hula or 10? Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 5:46 pm Hi Tiffany, LOL, okay, maybe the sprinkler will be next! Reply Erin says: January 10th, 2009 at 6:40 pm Thanks for this video Karen! You mentioned this tip once before I think, but I had a hard time visualizing it. Also, I especially enjoyed the Tabs video and the Shopping Cart tutorial LOL. Reply Glosslizard says: January 10th, 2009 at 6:55 pm That’s alright, I wish I could pull off those lovely bronzed looks with the Brunette MSF! Hee hee, I wrote “MSG”! It’s a tasty bronzer, but it gives some people headaches! 😉 The imps and I were invited to a party in the park today! It was warm, sunny and beautiful! I hope you got to grab a little sunshine too! Reply Brittany says: January 10th, 2009 at 7:16 pm I got 10. I really like it! It’s a good balance of shimmer and bronzer. Reply lexi says: January 10th, 2009 at 7:19 pm ha – thanks for the repeat – i was in the back in the cheap seats! have you tried out the bobbie brown bronzer/blush duo? i like it – it’s not shimmery, the pink is very wearable and it comes with a brush!! i do the fish lip when i apply my bronzer to make my cheekbones more prominent so it’s easier to see where to apply the bronzer on my cheeks and then i also sweep to temple – i’ll try it above the eyebrow – thanks for the visual tip!! Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 8:01 pm Hi Erin, It never hurts to be prepared. You never know when you’ll need to bust out the shopping cart at the club! 😉 Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 8:04 pm Hi Glosslizard, LOL — MAC MSG. Tasty! Addictive! A party in the park, how fun. I hope cake was involved (takes it to the next level, ya know). 🙂 El Hub and I headed outside, too, to Fisherman’s Warf. The city was beautiful today. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it stays like this, oh, until April. Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 8:06 pm Hi Brittany, My BFF loves 10! She can’t live without it. Does that one have a nice scent to it like the other boxed blushes? Reply Karen says: January 10th, 2009 at 8:08 pm Hi Lexi, You’ll find me in the cheap seats, too, ha! I haven’t tried BB’s bronzer/blush duo. I planned on hitting up the counter this week to try the Brights Palette so when I’m there I’ll give it a go. 🙂 Hope you had a lovely Saturday! Reply Josay says: January 11th, 2009 at 1:13 pm Hey Karen, I just have discovered your videos and I like them 🙂 Thanks for your good work!!! Reply stickles says: January 11th, 2009 at 9:57 pm Great video! I always wondered how the ‘3’ shape worked for bronzer, but now I know. BTW, I didn’t realize that your voice sounds so very like Reese Witherspoon’s 😛 Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
