How Much Can You Fit in the New Urban Decay Quinceañera Makeup Bag?

April 17th, 2011 by Karen 78 Comments

The new Urban Decay Quinceañera Makeup Bag ($26, available now at Sephora stores and online) isn’t exactly helping me master how to pack light.

But who cares?! It’s party time! — a sweet 15 of sorts, aka a quinceañera — and Urban Decay is bringing the fun.

They released the limited edition bag to celebrate their 15th birthday, bedecking it with purple and sparkles, and like any good birthday it comes with a surprise: it holds a TON of stuff!

Just how much stuff? Well…

12 cans of cat food

Or…

Two Urban Decay Blockbuster Eyeshadow Palettes

Or…

39 pieces of Urban Decay makeup

Or…

6 body butters and 1 body wash

Or…

7 full-size bottles of face cream (with room to spare!)

Or…

5 surf tees

Or…

40 tea bags (or two boxes) of tea

Or…

3 cans of beans

Or…

76 assorted tubes of lipgloss

I love how wide the bag opens because it makes it so easy to find what I’m looking for inside. And I love how easy it is to clean. Just wipe down the inside and outside with a wet towel.

Happy birthday, Urban Decay! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    3) By the time you got to the tea, I was giggling nonstop. The beans put me over the edge…and I’m tired, so I’m sitting on the couch, snickering slap-happily, while my husband stares. He knows not to ask. 🙂

I think the bag is really cute but I have so much of that sort of thing — though I probably couldn’t have resisted if they’d put some little freebies in it! Years ago I bought a little pouch from them that was full of untested testers. It was a great buy!

i ordered mine the day it came out… when it arrived i was a bit bummed to see that it didn’t have paper or cardboard to keep it from getting smashed, so it was pretty sad looking. i put a heavy book inside it and after a few days, the bottom of it was flat again like it should be (the sides are still a little wrinkly, but it was the bottom that bothered me. but when i went to take it up to my stash, i noticed a huge spot where a seam isn’t sewn together! ugh! and of course since i’m a nanny, my invoice is no-where to be found. i’m sure they still have the order on record (and i have the confirmation email) so they better exchange it!

I love how you illustrated how much that bag holds. It was too cute (even though I was a little scared that Tabs might come after you for taking his gravy)!

That bag makes me think of the one that Mary Poppins had in the movie. I was waiting for you to show a ficus tree shoved in there (with plenty of room left over for makeup and/or gravy)!

Very much enjoyed your scientific research in to the bag’s capacity!

As I was reading I kept wondering if the next demo would be “one husky tabby cat” and his little face would be poking out! I guess he’ll just have to use it to carry his modelling stuff from shoot to shoot instead. And when I say carry, I mean have his assistant carry…
