Givenchy Acid Summer Swatches and Sunday Food Coma

Among the many stipulations in Tabs’ employment contract is a rule in Section 47 that states, “There must always be at least one unopened (i.e. spare) 5-pound bag of Science Diet Optimal Care on the premises.”

So today, to ensure my continued compliance with the agreement, I zipped over to my nearby Petco…which also happens to be right next door to a Sephora.

I only popped in for minute to “look around” (please don’t tell Tabs because I was still on the clock).

It’s not easy to swatch while holding a hefty bag of cat food, but it can be done. 🙂 Today the bright, sparkly tubes and pans of the new Givenchy Acid Summer collection caught my eye.

Givenchy equipped the release with 12 lipglosses, two lip stains, a lip/cheek balm and a palette with nine eyeshadows. Since Tabs is a stickler when it comes to punctuality (but not as it pertains to him), I didn’t have time to try anything on, but from what I felt, saw and swatched in the store, most of the lipglosses looked sheer, and the brights in the eyeshadow palette were a lot tamer than I expected them to be.

I like how wearable most of it looks, but I was expecting more pops of pigment in the mix.

What do ya think? See anything you like?

Did you have a good afternoon? My parents and brother just left a little while ago. They stopped by for a joint birthday/Father’s Day celebration (my brother and I both had bdays this month) and brought enough food to feed an army!

Now I’m just recovering from food coma and counting down the minutes to Game of Thrones.

CAN’T! WAIT! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

the turquoise and orange in that palette are gorgeous. I thought the glosses felt nice when I tried them as well. They really are sheer though.

This collection doesn’t move me, which is sad because I love the actual products…it’s the colors I’m not loving too much. Maybe it’s because I’m not great with pastels around my eyes and I need a lot of pigment in my glosses.

But your spread at home looks amazing! Go sleep it off, lol!

Holy Moly! That food looks fabulous! Know what I ate today? Hot Pockets. Haha! And OMG, season finale of Game of Thrones! I’m already reading the fourth book, but I’m still addicted to the show.

And as for the Givenchy, the only thing that really catches my eye is the Vibrant Fuchsia lipgloss. I’ll have to check that one out. Thanks for the swatches!

Those shadows look like nice summery colors.

I’ll take some shrimp and some strawberries, please!

Oh, and I think the stop into Sephora can be easily explained by saying you were doing research for some of his future modeling jobs. Gotta see what’s out there in person so he can choose from his many ad campaign job offers!

darn, I was hoping for more pigmentation from the lipglosses. Oh well, one more thing to cross off my wishlist that’s getting way too long! The food looks delicious, and I’ve heard so many good things about Game of Thrones! Going to have to watch that sometime soon…

Damn! Now I’m gunna spend a small fortune on a few things from this collection! Lovin’ the fuschia gloss to death! Might consider that pretty pink and peachy nude one from the second row of swatches. Also seriously crushin on the lip liners and that cheek balm. What the heck is cheek balm, anyway?!

Wow, that shrimp salad makes me want to cook! 🙁

I love the promotional photo of the Givenchy collection, but I’m not wooed by the collection itself… Celestial Black looks interesting, though :D, would be a nice darkening touch to everything.
The cakes and the food are to die for! 🙂

No way, I was expecting a lot from this Givenchy collection, but ig disappointment! I was expecting something like what a Chanel Fluo lipgloss could do, more pigmentation, and spalsh of colour…bad. 🙁

the food…remind me that my birthday is comming, in a week, yay!

Wish I could eat shrimp but I am deathly allergic to it *sigh*. Same with lobsters, prawns, clams. I can eat mussels, though, but not the rest of them crustaceans. I am so missing out BIG time booooo:(
