Estee Lauder Stays Golden with Sensuous Gold for Fall 2009

Anybody else been moved by Estée Lauder lately? I’m thinking 2009 could be the year they bring sexy back.
I’ve liked a lot of their recent releases, like the Double Wear creme shadows and their Fuchsia Now and Bronze Goddess collections, and I think EL’s going to keep her momentum through fall with Sensuous Gold.
It’s 11 pieces of limited-edition goodness for eyes, lips, cheeks and nails.
First impression?
I love the packaging (hello, gorgeous!), but then it’s pretty hard to go wrong with shiny baubles.
What do you think of the embossed pans in the Signature Eyeshadow Quads or the soft rosy golds, deep plums and bronzes?
It all strikes me as straight-up pretty and feminine — the kind of shimmery textures and soft colors perfect for a candlelit dinner date. Just add heels, a little black dress, dainty gold jewelry and your favorite scent.
Ain’t no boy (or girl) able to resist those charms.

Have you read the books though? They’re sorta cheesy too (sortof like the movie?) but they suck you in. And they’re like, 6.

I have been liking Estee Lauder a lot this year. And wow!! Sensuous Gold collection is gorgeous, though I have had similar colors in the eyeshadow quads that can be duped
But packaging-wise, very classy.

Oh, and I wanted to thank you for your help Karen, I ended up getting “rude” blush from Illamasqua and dang that sucka stays on, you weren’t kidding!
One thing i’m a bit bummed about is that the product, while it has a cute design, feels a little flimsy in my hands, and its only 4g while MAC creme blushes are 6! For the price of Illamasqua, I would think they would include more product!
Other than that, the color is gorg, so thank you again!

Unlikely from this collection I bought almost every piece;Rose Amethyst l/s,Pure Color Sensuous Gold Multi Gloss in Amethyst,E/quad in Rose Gold,and Nail Polish in Black Amethyst which I’ve been wearing on my toes for the past 5 weeks.
Actually the collection I think was officially released only 2 weeks ago.I got my at least at the beginning of June or even end of May.
However I must say that I am a bit disappointed by the eye quads….the color pay off is simply not there

I agree, I’ve been impressed with EL lately, I have a few things from the summer collection and love them. It doesn’t seem so “old lady” anymore. Love the Rose Amethyst quad and the l/s but I hate the smell of the EL l/s! Anyone else notice this?

I love the Rose Gold polish <3 and the lipglosses are pretty but put me in the mindframe of MAC’s tricolor lipglasses from the Sugarsweet Collection. Based on your swatches, it looks like they may have the same color payoff which is disappointing. Maybe I will check them out this weekend…

The eye quads look prettier after they have been swatched rather than in the compacts. The lippies are just lippies. I liked the glosses in the tubes but they seem to be too sheer by themselves. The nail colors are gorgeous, too. But I am giving up makeup from now on and just plan on using concealer to cover my whole face. Today I am old and crabby in case you can’t tell. hahahaha Louise

Seems I might have to forego those Lancome gift w/ purchase and go for some of these instead… like the warmer-toned lipsticks and the Amethyst lip gloss. I would almost have nail polish lust, except TBH, the Rose Gold looks like a dead ringer for OPI’s Chocolate Shake-speare, which is half the price in a bigger bottle. And the Black Amethyst looks like a Rimmel shade…
