Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Extravagant Berry: All That Glitters Is Gone

October 30th, 2010 by Karen 52 Comments

Extravagant Berry lipstick could have been called The Grinch Who Stole Glitter because, seriously, where did it go? The new limited edition color, released for the holidays, is one of the prettiest tubes I’ve seen in years, but it turns out the glitter is just an overspray more for decoration than for practical use (SHOOT!).

The glitter’s all but invisible on my lips. The color, however, a dark berry with a hint of golden shimmer, doesn’t need glitter to shine. I think it’s still lovely.

Here’s a quick look:

EL flavored and scented it with red gummy bears! Well, more or less. It’s downright YUM! I also like the smooth texture and full-coverage color, too.

What do ya think?

PRICE: $22
AVAILABILITY: At Estee Lauder counters and online

P.S. Okay, so as of 6:57PM my time there were 15 votes for ’50s sock-hop girl and 9 votes for wannabe Run-D.M.C. member, but I had to go with the Run-D.M.C. member because I can’t find my poodle skirt. I bet it’s wherever I left my Lucky Tom palette… Whatever you’re up to, I hope you’re having fun tonight! Be safe, and I’ll talk to you soon. 🙂

ooh the color is so deep and rich and smooth! It’s gorgeous, definitely perfect for the holidays. I will admit that I am very disappointed with the lack of glitter though, the thing looked like a frosted Christmas ornament on the outside! have fun at the halloween party!

Good call on the frosted ornament! 🙂

Wouldn’t it be kinda cute to have a lipstick ornament like this for your tree?

I would love to spend time with my cat… but he’s pretty angry at me right now, LOL! He was not thrilled about his Halloween costume.

Hi Karen! I don’t think I own a single Estee Lauder item. I honestly always thought of it as an older lady brand (sorry, Mom). But seeing this lipstick makes me think I should rethink that!

I think It is just perfect! I wouldn’t want that much glitter on the tube transferred to my lips.lol The red color is just sparkling in its own way not the too loud gold glitter kind of sparkle which is very elegant to look at. And I think your rockin’ the color! I wish I could wear red colored lip stick like that! =)
