I’m OBSESSED With These Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blushes

June 14th, 2016 by Adia Goss 38 Comments

I need help picking a favorite!

OK, so I’ve been eyeing these $34 Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blushes for the longest time. There are six of them now, and I actually fell in love with the shade called Blushed Copper back when it was sold as a “blush topper,” also known as a super intense highlighter, last summer. I bought it when it was limited edition and promptly fell in love. It was super pigmented, super shimmery and just…super smooth and blendable. Very super. So when I heard that Becca was expanding the “Luminous Blush” collection this year, I cheered!

These six shades do not disappoint, and when I think of this year’s spring makeup launches, for me, this one’s top three. It’s the formula. It’s incredible!

I tend to stick with the same group of basic blushes for my workday wear, but I think as far as shimmery blushes go, these really stand out for their unique formula. I know that MAC has some frosted blushes…but these Becca Luminous Blushes blow them out of the water.

The pink shades (L to R) – Dahlia, Foxglove and Camelia

The orange/coral shades (L to R): Blushed Copper, Tigerlily, Snapdragon

They’re insanely pigmented and smooth, and the color payoff is brilliant. You barely need to tap your brush on one of them to get this level of pigment, and because they are so pigmented, you don’t need to put a lot of product on your face. It’s not like you have to cake these blushes onto your face or do a ton of layering to get true-to-pan color.

And the sheen? SO beautiful, and so, so perfect for this time of the year.

Well, who are we kidding? These work any time of year, but I do like to go crazier with glow and shimmer in the warmer months.

I could go on and on about these blushes!

But I won’t. I’ll just give you the details…

There are six shades, so if you’re into shimmering or luminous blushes, you should be able to find one that works for you. I have a hard time picking a favorite, so maybe you guys can help!

It’s funny because when I saw the pictures of these blushes online, I was drawn to Tigerlily, which looks like straight-up tangerine when you see the product in the pan, and it struck me as unique. I was super excited for it, but after playing with it and the other shades, I think my favorite is Foxglove just because it’s a little cooler toned than I normally go for, but it’s still wearable because of its sheen.

Here are some side-by-side swatches:

Swatches of the Becca Luminous Blushes (L to R): Camelia, Snapdragon, Dahlia, Tigerlily, Snapdragon and Blushed Copper.

So, I guess my favorite is Foxglove.

Well…actually, I go back and forth between Foxglove and Camelia. But then Blushed Copper is also gorgeous for that sun-kissed, you’ve-been-out-in-the-sun-at-the-beach (possibly sipping a little something) kind of look.

Dahlia is a very intense, gorgeous berry shade, and I tend to not pick up very berry-colored blushes because I think they make my skin look too red. That being said, I still think Dahlia is beautiful. And honestly, it would look FAB with a deep red matte lippie. Hmm… This may be my makeup look tomorrow.

Each time I look at these blushes, I change my mind on which one I like best. I’m hard-pressed to pick a favorite, but I think I can narrow it down to top three — Camelia, Foxglove and…maybe Snapdragon? Or Blushed Copper. 🙂

Becca Luminous Blush
Here’s a comparison between the Becca Luminous Blush in Blushed Copper on the left and the limited edition version that I bought last summer on the right.

Bottom line, these are all INCREDIBLE. I think that if you like shimmering blushes, or if you’re a blush person at all, then you DEFINITELY need one of these in your collection because they are stunning and phenomenal quality. In all of these pictures, I used a very light hand and got great color payoff, so if you see one of these you like, get it for the formula! You’ll want to wear it every single day.

And here are details on the rest of my makeup look:

Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation in Warm Honey // Chanel Eye Stylo in Beige Dore // Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara // Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Rayezor (this is my HG nude lipstick and the ONLY product that I’ve ever stockpiled!).

I’d love to hear your thoughts! Have you tried these luminous blushes before?

Snapdragon, then Camelia are my fave pinks on you. They look very similar to me but snapdragon reads more natural, Camelia glistens more. Dahlia is nice color wise but very intense, too rich/deep I think, unless you’re looking for that occasionally! Foxglove is too shimmery. Tiger lily is a pinky peach, it looks like the best of both worlds on you! Copper is nice but almost more as an accent or highlighter. If I had to pick two for you, I’d do snapdragon and Camelia! (Unless you’re set on a “fun” shade just for certain looks.) I’m glad you did this review, because these majorly caught my eye last time I was at Sephora and I couldn’t decide either!! This breakdown of the varieties is great. 🙂

I bought Blushed Copper last year, and thus began my love affair with all things Becca. And I agree that all of these look beautiful on you. They’re all my favorites, which I’m sure doesn’t help you one bit! ?

Camelia is my favorite on you. So pretty! But you are right, all of them look lovely.
Despite not liking highlighters I do have a thing for shimmering blushes, so I could see me wearing one or the other.

I guess you meant to say Foxglove is the second arm swatch… They’re all great, btw but I feel Dahlia looks gorgeous on you! I guess it’s not an everyday kind of look, but still gorgeous, nonetheless… For myself my pick would probably be Snapdragon. I actually never really considered getting these blushes before, I kind of have my ‘go-tos’ since I’m a little cautious when it comes to blushes and cheek colors but after seeing this post I feel like buying these asap.

I use highlighters as eye shadows! And I totally loved the copper one but it contains carmine, and I can’t use carmine around my eyes. I was so disappointed. I love the color and finish.

Thank you for reviewing these blushes! I’d just recently picked up Snapdragon based on a Sephora makeup artist’s suggestion, but was curious to see how the other colors looked. (I can hear my mailman groaning at the thought of making yet another possible delivery from Sephora soon LOL!!) All the colors look wonderful on you, but I thought Tigerlily and Snapdragon were the best in these pics as they most closely matched your lipstick and enhanced your complexion. 🙂
