Wearing Sophisti-Cat Cosmetics Liquid Blush in Burlesque on my cheeks and Liquid Lips in Celebrate
Here, kitty. Come here, cat lady. Here, kitty-kitty-kitty. It’s time for treats!
Makeup treats. 🙂
I kid you not, I came this close to flopping on my back and showing my tum, tabby-style, when I heard about Sophisti-Cat Cosmetics.
It’s a new indie makeup line of products inspired by two of my favorite things: makeup and cats. And their motto? “…makeup should make you look as flawless as a feline.”
A sentiment with which Tabs wholeheartedly agrees…
The line features a husky selection of reasonably-priced products from powder eyeshadows to liners, powder and liquid blushes, loose pigments, a liquid cake eyeliner sealant, an eye and lip primer and lipsticks. Pieces range from $8-16 each, are made in the US and weren’t tested on animals.
Tabs wouldn’t stop making biscuits on my bare thighs this afternoon until I gave in to his demands to see pics and swatches. 🙂

Liquid Blush in Burlesque on my cheeks and Liquid Lips in Cha Cha Cha
I haven’t spent much time with the products yet, but here’s to hoping they’re purr-worthy. For now, I can say that I’m very excited about the Liquid Lips Lipsticks and the Bold Effect and Super Silky Shadows. I literally went, “Oooh!” out loud while swatching. They’re super pigmented and look like they should be a lot fun.
From cats to cat eyes…
Yes, please! — you may get Haute & Naughty with me. 🙂 As in MAC Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash mascara ($20), which I’m testing today…but I keep getting distracted by the eye makeup pics on the press release.
Okay, yeah, those lashes look pretty cool, but the brows, liner and eye shadow?? DOPE!
I love how the liner breaks in the middle of the lower lash line in the top pic.
Oh, and see how the wings on the bottom eye have brown blended in with the black? So cool!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Becca @ The Beauty Sample says
LOL this line really DOES seem like it was made for you 😛 Those liquid blushes look pretty–I wonder how they compare the the MUFE ones!
Teri says
Oh gosh I love the make-up, you look so fresh in the first picture with that lip! The second look is really sexy! Love the idea of liquid lips, they look very pigmented :).
dani@callitbeauty says
Stealth and Cha Cha Cha are all ringing my bell. I’m curious to know how the Liquid Blushes perform as well. Can’t wait to read your reviews, Karen. 🙂
Katie says
I ain’t that crazy about cats, but this…is kinda awesome.
Lately, I’ve been a record on repeat, Karen — you are KILLING it with the eye makeup. And look at the red lips! And those earrings! (Where did you get them?) Sigh.
Melissa says
Never heard of that line before. Chachacha looks lovely on you!
Be sure to hug Tabs extra tight tonight. My Simon’s been at the vet the past two days with fluid in his lungs and congestive heart failure- and he’s only 7. There’s a good chance we will have to put him down tomorrow morning 🙁
Karen says
I’m so sorry, Melissa. Tabs sends you and Simon loving purrs.
Melissa says
These look promising and i love the name. I’m intrigued to see how the cake liner is. I’ve been wanting to try either a cake or gel eye liner, moving away from liquid. I also like flirtini and celebration.
Lulle says
The liquid blush looks AMAZING on you! I also love the peachy lipstick.
Nice products! I just wish they had more cats on their packaging :p
My male kitty Ernesto would love to put his paws on this. Actually he has already left a deep paw print in a lipstick pan in a Too Faced palette one day… followed by dozens of shimmery plum paw prints on the floor *sighs*
He also loves to rub his back against my makeup brushes… so even the synthetic ones end up with a lot of natural hair in them!!
Chelsea says
The liquid blush is most intriguing to me! I like the MUFE ones, but this price is so much better, and is cat-inspired! And cake liner sounds awesome too!
I can’t help but think my bunny will get jealous though if I don’t get bunny-inspired makeup to match.
Tracy says
Just from your swatches everything looks really amazing to me! Can hardly wait to hear about the liquid blush especially!
gio says
I had never heard about this line before but everything looks so promising!
Jen says
Your product pictures with the cat model are so cute! The makeup looks promising, I can’t wait to read your reviews!
Rae // theNotice says
Ooh! The Sophisti-Cat line looks so cute, Karen — I can’t wait to read more about Stealth and those liquid lip colours.
(And that new Haute & Naughty lash promo? LOVE. I’ve never really gotten excited about MAC’s mascaras, but the promo images for this one are just too cool.)
Agata says
An interesting collection. I like the blushes and the lipsticks and the glosses, cannot wait for your reviews!
Karen says
Hi Agata,
Happy Friday! I have the liquid blushes scheduled for testing this weekend. 🙂 I’ll let you know if they’re good.
Agata says
Ok, I cannot wait! I am intrigued by those!
Kim says
I know it must seem like I’m always confusing your blog with a *packaging* blog but the cut-outs on the eyeshadow boxes are way too cute. 🙂 Cha Cha Cha looks awesome on you, btw.
I like the break in the liner in the top MAC pic, too. Very cool!
Karen says
I want all my eyeshadows to have kitty cutouts! 😀
So, what’s this about Jeremy Renner being a makeup artist?!? Are you serious?
Kim says
Agreed!
Yes, I read that in an interview somewhere. Probably EW since that’s my usual source of information. HAHA! He’d have a terrible time with me because I’d be constantly looking at his forearms. 🙂
Nina says
The eye looks in the post card are making my mind boggle — so awesome!!!
And yep, im off to check Sophisti-cat cosmetics right now — because like you I go bananas for kitties and makeup (the eyeshadows look gorgeous!!!) ….
Karen says
I love, LOVE that eye look. It’s so creative! I dunno if I could pull it of, but I think I might try just for fun this weekend. 🙂
Have fun checking out the site…maybe have LOL choose some colors for you.
Nina says
Im not sure I can pull it off either, but im going to have tons of fun trying!!!
LOL likes yellow, for some reason. I wore a yellow dress Wednesday and he kept on pawing at the dress as I was sitting w/ him on the couch! A cat w/ a color preference – that’s LOL!
Ruchita says
I love the packaging! I especially like the lip gloss colors.
Tabs looks fierce as usual. 🙂 I love how he has his paws tucked into his chest. It’s so cute when kitties do that.
Karen says
That’s his new modeling trick. It’s like his version of Blue Steel, LOL! 🙂
Happy, happy FRIDAY! What’s going on this weekend?
Sunny @ Mostly Sunny says
This is a perfect collection for us cat ladies! LOVE the looks you did!
Karen says
Meow, meow! 🙂
Emi at Project Swatch says
This is SO perfect for you – and how cute!
Karen says
Totally cat lady, right?
Kiss & Make-up says
Awww, how cute is the last photo with Tabs ? 🙂
I love the eyeshadow packaging with the cat-shaped cut outs. And the liquid blush looks very interesting. I never tried liquid before, just powder, cream and soufflé.
Karen says
You should try it sometime! When they’re good they look just like skin. I like to apply mine with a skunk brush.
musical says
You are rocking the red lip! Tabster appears to be very possessive about these :).
Ankita@corallista says
Cha cha cha is gorgeous and looks amazing on you!
Phyrra says
I love the cat theme 🙂 The swatches look really nice! You might like Meow Cosmetics, too, since they’re cat themed.
Lorraine ER says
Phyrra beat me to it- I was going to suggest you check out Meow cosmetics, and because of you I’m planning on checking out Sophisti-cats!
Lorraine ER says
They have a very wide range of products so if you want any recommendations you can ask me or Phyrra! I love their concealers, they are mineral powders but they are much more pigmented and silky than Bare Escentuals, for example.Their blushes are really nice and easy to use even if you aren’t a fan of loose powders.
The same thing goes for their shadows, great but they are loose and I know some people aren’t into that. Luckily they offer very inexpensive samples of everything! Oh and one last thing- they have nice eyebrow powders.
