Wearing Burberry Lip Cover in Tulip Pink No. 27
You know you’ve seen one too many episodes of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when the first words out of your mouth after seeing these new Burberry Lip Covers are, “Man! Lisa Vanderpump would cut a b*tch for these pinks!”
If you don’t watch the show (it’s like Twinkies for my brain), Lisa is the resident Queen B, and she happens to love everything .
As do I (but not quite to Lisa Vanderpump’s level). 🙂
The color plays a major part in Burberry’s new Spring/Summer collection, which, by the way, I’m currently lurving (have you met Pale Barley yet?). Three of the four silky new Lip Cover Lipsticks ($30 each) in the release are shades of playful pink, while the fourth is a peach called Golden Peach No. 29.
If you like your pink lippies light, smooth and moisturizing like a fine silk slip, ding ding, ding! — we have a winner here.
The Burberry Lip Cover Lipsticks: 3 New Pinks for Spring and Summer
- Tulip Pink No. 27 — To my eye, Tulip Pink No. 27 is the lightest of these pinks and has the coolest tones, but Burberry was careful not to lower the color temperature so far that warmer-toned gals (like moi) wouldn’t be able to pull it off. I think it’s a perfect pink nude lip to pair with smokey eyes.
- Devon Sunset No. 28 — Compared to Tulip Pink, Devon Sunset burns hot. It’s a creamy pinkish coral with a dash of warming yellow, and I swear I feel brighter when I have it on my lips. Cuties who love coral may want to add it to their list.
- Primrose Hill Pink No. 30 — While bright for Burberry, I still think this hot pink stays true to the collection’s overall aesthetic. It has a soft shine that keeps it from overstepping its bounds, and I think the finish gives it an air of elegance. Plus, it matches my hair. 🙂
Devon Sunset No. 28
Primrose Hill Pink No. 30:
Wearing Burberry Lip Cover in Tulip Pink No. 27
Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipsticks from the left: Primrose Hill Pink No. 30, Tulip Pink No. 27 and Devon Sunset No. 28, $29 each
Swatches from the left: Sheer Eye Shadow in Pale Barely No. 22; Lip Cover Lipsticks in Tulip Pink No. 27, Devon Sunset No. 28 and Primrose Hill Pink No. 30; Lip Glow Natural Lip Gloss in wands in Nude Rose No. 14 and Hibiscus No. 13
All of them have a light rosy flavor and scent; I’m wearing two layers in each of these pics for coverage that’s just shy of full.
I do wish they lasted a little longer, as I’ve only been getting about 2 hours from them, but you know what they say (nothing lasts forever).

Yoga! Yoga!
I’d love to be this stretchy…
As a gift to myself last Christmas, I purchased a $20 coupon good for 20 yoga classes at a nearby studio. Well, last night I went to my fourth class (yay!), and then when I got up morning, I could barely move.
Seriously, I’m sore in places that I don’t even remember having!
It’s weird…but even after just four classes, I feel like I’m standing taller and sitting better, and my lower back doesn’t feel as crunchy.
Of course, I still can’t touch my toes (have I mentioned that I’m the least flexible person ever?), but ya never know. Maybe someday.
I’m curious, can you touch your toes or do the splits? Inquiring minds want to know.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Ooooh these look so pretty! And I absolutely LOVE Burberry’s formula. Would you say that Devon Sunset is a bright coral? I always love how corals look in their tubes, but when I wear them, they look too bright to me! I’m more of an eye makeup gal, so I tend to like my lip colors more toned down.
And don’t feel bad about not being able to touch your toes–I can’t either! I don’t think I’ve ever been able to touch them!
Karen says
Hi Gina,
Hmm… well, I think it depends on how you work it. I’m wearing two layers here, which punches up the color, but you could easily do one layer and have it look more mellow.
Stephanie says
I think number 30 looks the best on you and I like the red color in your hair 😀
Karen says
Thanks, Stephanie!
Nikki B. says
Those look really pretty but out of my curret price range especially since I’m a lipstickaholic & I carry them in my purse. I’d be afraid to damage them. But I do like Primrose Hill Pink No. 30 plus the lipgloss in Hibiscus No. 13.
Ooo Ooo I can touch my toes!! But then agai I danced for 16 years of my life sooo…although I started up yoga last year and I absolutely love it. Keep it up & you’ll be touching your toes in no time! Plus it helps relieve stress & I find it clears my mind useful when I’m worried or stressing out – it makes you focus on your breathing which takes all your concentration. Enjoy it! Thanks for the post Karen! You do great work 🙂
Karen says
Thanks, Nikki!
I used to dance too! What kind did you do? I did hip hop and jazz for a while, although I always felt really goofy in jazz class.
Carolyn says
I’m incredibly unflexible too! I’m always the least flexible person in any yoga or pilates class :(. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your class though!
I bought Devon Sunset, and it was my first Lip Cover. Unfortunately, on me, Lip Cover really settles into my lip lines, whereas most other lipsticks that I have (MAC, Chanel, NARS, etc.) do not. Do you find this to be an issue too? Is there a way to prevent it? Thanks Karen! BTW, I love Tulip Pink on you. I might have to check that out too if I can figure out what’s causing the Lip Cover to settle into the lip lines.
Karen says
Hi Carolyn,
Sorry to hear you’re having that issue. How many layers do you apply? I do a first layer, then blot, and then apply a second. Usually that keeps the color from settling into my fine lines.
Lilit says
Loving the pink lippies on you, especially #28. It’s a bit of an MLBB colour on you I think. And well done with the yoga classes, I’ve heard they can be quite strenuous! I USED to be able to touch my toes, now I’m pregnant, soon I won’t even be able to SEE my toes let alone touch them! LOL.
Karen says
Aww, Lilit! When are you due?
Sonya says
I love Primrose Hill! It’s nice to see these vibrant colors as a change of pace from the winter collections – I’m ready for spring!
I dance and do circus aerial arts so I’m pretty bendy, but I love yoga too! It’s a great stress reliever and a soothing relaxer 🙂
Karen says
Hi Sonya,
That’s SO COOL that you do circus aerial arts! That’s flying trapeze stuff, right?
Heather says
I love yoga! Yes, I can touch my toes, and yes, I can do the splits, but I attribute it not to any extreme feat of flexibility, but instead to my incredibly short legs! LOL.
Karen says
LOL, you’re so cute, Heather!
Sunny @ Mostly Sunny says
Oooo I like these, especially Hill Pink and Tulip Pink!
And yes I can touch my toes. I am weirdly enough the only person this flexible in the family :p But no I can’t do splits. Even when I was a lot younger I don’t think I’ve ever managed!
Give it a couple more days Karen. After a while your body will get used to it and stop being so sore again!
Karen says
Ahh… to touch my toes. Dare to dream! 🙂
How are things going out your way today, Sunny?
dani@callitbeauty says
Devon Sunset is as lovely as I imagined it to be. <3
Karen says
Yes! It’s so bright and punchy!
Neeraj says
Sorry for not commenting as my daddy passed away a week back but I am back in action as my dreams were his passion and he would always want me to continue them.
I am waiting for the day when Burberry launches their makeup line in India. The colors are so natural and amazing and look quite subtle. Quite a delight for all those ladies and girls and of course MUAs who cannot afford the luxury of buying their bags in their flagship store.
Karen says
Hi Nerraj,
I’m so sorry for your loss. Big hugs.
corallista says
Primrose Hill pink is gorgeous and looks wonderful on you!
Karen says
Thanks, Corallista! Happy Thursday!
Marina says

artemis says

Karen says

20 bucks for 20 classes? That’s the deal of the century. Nice pull! I’m not normally a yoga person since it requires calm and I have trouble with that, but it’s definitely a good workout. I’m pretty flexible and can easily put my palms flat on the floor. I’ve never quite been able to do a good split, though. I’m glad you’re enjoying the new workout and I know you’ll be like a pretzel in no time. 🙂
Karen says
Yeah, I got it off of Living Social! Normally the classes are $15 each.
That’s super cool that you can put your palms flat on the floor! You’d probably be really good at yoga. I have trubs with calm too… hence the urge to try yoga. Even though I’m a little wiggly at first, eventually I settle down enough to concentrate on not falling down, LOL!
Kim says
HAHA! Don’t you love when you’re in a lunging position and feel like you’ve been there for an hour (instead of 15 seconds)? I’m always amazed by how hard it is to hold some of those positions. And that’s just in my living room; I’m sure it’s a lot worse being in a room of other people (and thinking “don’t tip over… don’t tip over..”). 🙂

a cat doing the cat stretch – awesome!
these lipsticks are so lovely! im really really tempted. 😀
Karen says
I wish I was that stretchy, for real!
Do you have a Burberry counter nearby? You gotta play with these lippies sometime. 🙂
Nina says
me too. im not *that* flexible!
burberry is at Saks, i think. not my fave store but ive shopped there. mostly when im with my sister.
i dont remember that nordstrom has a burbery counter. i hope there is one because id much rather shop at nordstrom!
Linnea says
If your the #1 least flexible person, than I am #2. I walked into a “older ladies” class of yoga at my age of 23, and the teacher was like no, your too young.. about 10 minutes later they were like.. you found the right place to be. I cannot touch my toes, and most of the ladies in that class kicked my ass in flexibility. Hell I can barely touch my shins. I’m glad yoga is working for you Karen!
lexi says
Lisa Vanderpump is the best, real name ever! That’s all I wanted to say oh and yes, those Burberry Lip Covers for Spring are worth checking out.
I try to do Yoga 2x a week but I am lucky to make it to my Sunday morning class. Glad to say that yes, I can reach my toes and do the splits but I have always been pretty “bendy” and I’ve been practicing yoga for years….glad to hear you are making it part of your routine.
Seriously, how awesome is Savasana? Best pose evar!!!
Liz says
I’ve been doing yoga for a few years now, and all I can say is if you keep at it you’ll get to tow touching. Promise!
